Which pickups are the right ones for you, depends on what type of sound you want from your guitar. The Gibson dirty finger pickups have ceramic magnets, and they're better for heavy rock and metal type music. Whereas the Epiphone Probucker pickups usually have Alnico 2 or Alnico 5 magnets, and they give more of a warm type of sound. And Alnico magnets give a different sound to the ceramic magnets. Plus the level of output affects the sound of pickups too. Ceramic magnet pickups are usually high output, whereas Alnico 2 magnets are vintage, and Alnico 5 medium levels of output. So there're a few things you'll have to think about when it comes to choosing the right pickup.
I don’t really see one that is clearly better than the other. Each one has its own feel and vibe. I have Probuckers in my PRS SE 245 and I’m very happy with the tones I’m getting.
Update: I am still very happy with the sound I’m getting from the Probuckers. One thing I will say is that the potentiometers are the cheaper PCB kind. If you’re the type of guitar player that leaves your pickup volumes on ten, then it’s fine. I’m one of those guitar players that likes to use the volume and the tone knobs. And that’s where it really shows its lack of quality. I’ve gotten used to it slightly, but I think the next thing I will do, other than upgrading the tuners and the nut, is seeing if I can get regular potentiometers I’m going to see if I can get those pots converted to better quality ones with a treble bleed circuit. I am still incredibly pleased with both look and sound I’m getting.
I am not a high output pickup guy but if had to have just one high output set it would be the Dirty Fingers. A Gibson explorer with Dirty fingers is the Best Metal sound ever. Why Gibsons current 70s explorer doesn't have Dirty fingers is really puzzling considering in late 70s and early 80s several explorer models had Dirty Fingers . For that matter all 70s explorers had Ceramic pickups of some kind . The 1976 to 1980 Antique natural 76 reissue style explorers had the Ceramic magnet Tarback/superhumbuckers so it seems Strange that the 70s tribute pickups in the modern 70s explorer are Alnico 5 based .
Dirty Fingers have more output than Pro Buckers . I think you can get better sound with Dirty Fingers just do not keep the pickups so close tp strings!! You will get better tone.
I agree , for the sound I’m looking for anyway. Like someone else said , they’re both great pickups with different tones. 6 in one hand half a dozen in the other.
I don't know if you have gotten an answer yet but a humbucker is a type of pickup. They are usually easy to spot b/c of their big rectangular metal cover (the probuckers) or by the two exposed pickup coils right next to each other (the dirty fingers). A Probucker is just a type of humbucker. You might also find some called Burstbuckers.
the epiphoneme mics sounded more rounded and compressed (a more concrete and tidy sound) I think it's more because they have the cover of the pickups rather than the Alnico magnet, and in the neck it achieves a more tubular feel which I like a lot; On the contrary, Gibson's mics sounded a bit arbitrary or messy to me, but in the gain stage or with the active distortion they were much sharper and beautifully cutting than the epiphones, and that messiness I think is more related to the fact that they are ceramic than the fact. if they are uncovered, yes, it gives it more freedom and makes it brighter but for the clean stage it does not convince me, occasionally these, if they were covered, I think they would achieve a more superior result than being uncovered. At the end of the day, everything is a matter of taste, even so the video helped me a lot, very good and thank you very much!
Of course they are going to sound different! These are Two completely different set of pickups, they have completely different kind of magnets and are used for different kind of music, useless comparison.
It's his video and he wanted to compare the two pickups he has and share it with everyone, meaning, it's NOT a useless comparison. It's a comparison between two pickups. Comparing two very similar pickups would be useless.

That The Response Waiting For
I have the original dirty fingers in my 335. Messing with the tone knob allows so much variety of sound. Jazz to metal, great output
The Probuckers never had AlNiCo 5 magnets, they are always AlNiCo 2.
Thanks for the riff ideas.
Dirty Fingers sound way better

Great licks brother , your ahead of me that’s for sure.
Dirty Fingers! 🤘
That's a great review! Clear win for the pro buckets for me , thanks
Shocking how much better the Gibson pups are. More clarity. A sharper defined transient. Mid range.
parece que tirou um cobertor de cima do som quando muda do epiphone para os Dirty Fingers
Dirty fingers sound better partly because guitar is in tune!
Dirty Fingers are the best
Epiphone Probucker win🤘

Epiphone ProBucker Pickups
Are epiphone probuckers the same as humbuckers?
Hambuckers are for sandwiches
They are a type of humbucker yes.
