- A mix of different things running on the mainline and i recently realised my 2 Hornby class 67s work well in top and tail, so I've done a few different things with them as well as a variety on the heritage line with the Dapol sentinel having a run with a private train using the Rapido tram car.

Hi, superb running session, you have some awesome items on your layout, thanks for sharing.💎
@StormmyStormmy Hi glad you enjoyed it, I try and run something different each time, thanks for watching. Tom
My idea of a sound running session consists of only Mr. HST, the Pacer and all manner of steam engines whistling and barking down my ears. Diesels would very rarely be used except on the special railtour: one stinky diesel at the back and one sweet-smelling steam engine at the front, top and tailing with one another, as it goes in real life. The diesel is always at the rear to help guard against the risk of line-side fires. Yes, freight trains are still in use, but imagine how wonderful it would be if all we could hear was a steam engine, like Lydham Manor, barking and whistling down our ears all day long. Magical. You can't beat the sight and sounds of God's Wonderful Railway hard at work.
@@kellyashfordtrains2642 am still working out how I can get one of my mainline steam to top and tail with a diesel at the same speed so they don't derail but it's proven tricky so far I might get it one day
Cracking running session Tom, particularly the night scenes. The Hornby 67s are a hidden gem of a locomotive. Thanks for the upload and all the best, Colin.
@clipperrail8988 Hi Colin glad you enjoyed the running session, I really enjoyed playing top and tail with the 67s there's so few I've managed to get working well as a pair and never thought about doing it with them till recently, thanks for watching. Tom
Great running session!! Thank you for making a video of it and putting it on UA-cam!!
@@Madonsteamrailways no problem glad you enjoyed it, thanks again
Good evening Tom!! What a gorgeous layout you’re running in the loft!! I’m considering getting my loft boarded fully so that I can have a permanent layout as well as my small, portable layout.
@Madonsteamrailways Hi if you can do it's certainly worth having a layout in the loft and definitely worth getting the roof ceiling insulated and boarded, glad you like the layout, thanks for watching. Tom
Fantastic running session, lot's to see. Thanks.
Hi Robert glad you liked it, thanks for watching. Tom

@hermitageroad4713 thanks Pete I like to try an do something different each time and always good fun filming a few running sessions and putting the clips together
The steam train is being hauled by the new tooling Black Five? What a lovely sight!! And has she got the steam producer on board?
@Madonsteamrailways Hi she hasn't got a smoke unit unfortunately, I'll probably get one fitted in the future, it is a stunning loco
Plenty to see!
glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching. Tom
@@northwesttrainsmodels It might sound strange but enjoy seeing the Pacers! 🙂
These cannot run on Ewhurst Green as they foul the third rail...
@@ewhurstgreen I do like the pacers myself they have a little charm about them, I had a cab ride in a 144 the other day
@@northwesttrainsmodels Hope you enjoyed it - as a passenger always felt Piccadilly to Mauldeth Road was suffering enough!
@ewhurstgreen it was a bumpy ride 😂 but all good fun and the lines only just under 2 miles long
How many stations do you have on your layout? On my portable one, I have a single station.
@Madonsteamrailways there is one station on the lower level line and 2 on the heritage layout, one is just temporary at the moment
