Because all he does is talk a big game and cower to the sniffles, while simultaneously pretending to himself that he's the best... he's not the best. because if he was, he would be here fighting for titles, but everybody makes excuses for him, which is why he is overrated, has nothing to do with his skill set.... you can have the fanciest hammer in the world, but if it just sits on the shelf, is it really a hammer at all? Or is it just a "Tool On the Shelf"

Khumshot is an absolute bum. Only fights in very specific areas against very specific opponents and doesn't even make weight for nate... How many times did usada test him compared to others? Dude has fought 4 times in 3 years. Leon Edwards’s, who is one of the least active champions almost has more title fights in that time span than Khamzat has actual fights. Periera has fought 2x-3x that number in the same span, won multiple belts at different weight classes and is looking to move up to a 3rd weight class. So yes, he is the most overrated.
It's not so much about that his skills his overrated. More him as a fighter. If you pull out of most of your fights it's kinda hard to say you are a good fighter, even if you have phenomenal skills if you can't prove it then it doesn't count

Khamzat lives in cuckoo land.
He is nowhere near active enough and does not have the résumé to be considered a serious contender.
Let's look at his last 3 fights.
1) Kevin Holland - Agreed to fight a finished Nate Diaz, missed weight like an unprofessional idiot, Kevin stepped in to save the card even though he was training for a completely different fight, and Khamzat fake glove touched, when he could have won the fight without being an unprofessional prick. Kevin is not a real contender for any title.
2) Burns - Gilbert handled himself very well and it was a razor thin decision. Gilbert was giving him real problems.
3) Usman - A Just came off being KOd and then dominated by Leon Edwards, he cannot use his knees and he's taking the fight on short notice, going up in weight to fight Khamzat at MW. Arguably Kamaru won the last two rounds.
None of these fights were against an actual middleweight. Then he pulls out of a fight vs Whitaker due to health concerns, expects a title shot at MW.
He has neither competed or impressed enough to get a title shot at either division. He is unprofessional, inactive, doesn't back his talk and he's prone to health issues which makes him unreliable, if not unbookable. He was meant to be the first 3 division champ, I'd be surprised if he is ever champ at all in any division.
Chimaev's got my vote for overrated. Chimaev hasn't fought anyone legitimate; not on short notice, in the right weight class besides Li and Gilbert Burns. Most of us believe Burns won that fight and was a lightweight fighter for a long time.
Khamzat Chimaev hype train derailed.
1st fight in the UFC July 2020 against John Phillipa: 1-3 with .500 record released in 2020. Hasn't fought since.
2nd fight: Rhys McKee called up from Cage Warriors to fight Chimaev on short notice 3-4 in his last 7.
3rd fight: Gerald Meerschaert 2-4 in last 6 fights before Chimaev. No one had ever heard of Meerschaert: not ranked.
4th fight: Li: 1-2: not ranked.
5th fight: Gilbert Burns: ex-lightweight Chimaev's 1st real challenge. I think Burns won.
6th fight: Kevin Holland: takes the fight on short notice. Chimaev doesn't slap hands and dive bombs "No Wrestling" Holland, a snake douchebag move.
7th fight: Kamaru Usman: takes fight on short notice (3 of 4 opponents who took short notice fights again Chimaev) Usman is a welterweight, recovering from injury and I believe won the fight. If it was a 5 round fight Usman would have won forsure.
Chimaev ranked 11th does not deserve to even fight Whittaker, let alone a championship fight. He's got at least 7 guys in front of him.

On MMA decisions all media mma experts had it for Chimaev(except of 1) on the over 2000 submitted mma fan score cards,64 percent of the UFC fans had it for Chimaev.
A lot of people think Chimaev won or it was a coin flip decision,of course some people think Burns won but as far as i can seee it isn't more than 40 percent who really think Burns won.

Khamzat almost got beat up by Gilbert burns (a former lightweight shin lost to Dan hooker) and bare got by kamaru who went up a weight class last second….. he’s been overrated since the li jiang fight.

I will be honest here, I feel like his win over Gilbert Burns was unconvincing. Now, I'm not judge and nor am I an experienced fighter, but to me it seemed like Gilbert overall was having a upper hand.

Khamzat is a hell of a fighter and has tremendous potential. However, every time he's had an opportunity to step up and headline, he's missed weight or gotten injured. As a business, it has got to be hard for the UFC to invest in him at this point. As a fan, it's extremely frustrating. If he can headline and win a couple of fights, I would think he can earn a title shot, but to jump in right now for a title fight is ridiculous.

He fought Gilbert, who was ranked No. 2 at welterweight, and he fought Kamaru Atman, who was ranked the best fighter of all time, and square-headed people tell you he doesn't deserve a title shot.
Gilbert who's undersized and Kamaru who was knocked out passed his prime with bad knees.

Well he did win against Gilbert and Kamaru but is far from being impressive and at that particular time he deserves a title shot but sadly the train already left the station. For him to act entitled to a title shot now is disrespectful to those who have been active. He needs to gain some humility and get back in line, be discipline with his weight, and get his visa together. I missed the Khamzat that can fight anyone anywhere not the one now who is a keyboard warrior. Less talking and more fighting.

For overrated fighter I’d have probably picked Ian or Paddy but they’re both also good fighters. I think Paddy lost to Jared Gordon and Ferguson after chain losses wasn’t a fitting fight, so I suppose I’d go with Paddy if I had to.
I thought Aljo was overrated because two of his 4 championship wins were a DQ and a one-armed Dillashaw. But Aljo was and still is one of the best fighters even if I’m not his most ardent fan, and I think he’s underrated now

At welterweight he's a problem for everyone if he can make the weight. But obviously he can't make it now without jeopardizing himself. He's good, has great potential, but he hasn't stayed healthy enough to fight often enough for us to see how good he can be against the top middleweights.

The rationale here is kind of obvious. If he consistently can't make it to the fight, his stock takes a hit. He became known for fighting on short notice in different weight classes to becoming a pullout merchant.
Cory has shown that he can strike with anyone, has KO power, and has demonstrated wrestling acumen we didn’t know he had.

If Chael cared about the truth behind this then he would have to talk about Khamzat was going to fight Whittaker but pulled out and is now demanding that he's owed a titled fight. I'm not sure he's overrated. We never get to see him fight. Something a bit off about that. If you ask him he'll smash anyone, but rarely goes out and does it.

Look at his resume only two notable wins against an undersized Gilbert and a retired former champ Kamaru with bad knees on short notice.
It’s wild everyone says Usman is washed when he’s been fighting with the same disabilities for a while now, and no one could take him down with those. Khamzat dominated him more than anyone ever has on the ground and Khamzat sucks? Doesn’t make sense. Throw Usman in there with almost anyone today and he wins easily. The fight to make was Khamzat vs Izzy, but we know that would end in the first round. Unfortunately as talented as Khamzat is, he will probably just go away eventually because he’s a pull out king. Almost seems performance anxiety esque at this point.
Usman took that fight on short notice after getting his ass beat to Leon Edwards dude falloff was almost as bad as Volk after the Islam fights and then losing to Ilia Topuria

Also, almost nobody makes as big of a jump in competition as Khamzat did and is successful. Very few in the history of the sport do this. They won’t even let Bo Nickal because they know he’ll get stomped.

Catch any fighter the Sunday after a loss, and they'll be considered "Overrated" by the fans. However, some of these lesser known fighters (like Khamzat, or even Conor McGregor; he's the fighter from Ireland) they take so much time AWAY from fighting, that some of us fans start losing interest. Pereira get opportunities because he is always willing and able to take them. Alex has not missed weight ever, he haven’t called out of cards before. If khamzat was able to make weight and stop getting sick, he would have fought for a belt by now.

paulo costa isnt as good as Gilbert burns skillwise. They are a lot different in weight, and paulo costa would definitely lose to khamzat if he is healthy. Paulo pulled out of the fight against khamzat. You know absolutely nothing

I didn't state Costa was as skilled as Burns or that Costa would even beat khamzat. Stop meat riding. Costa still gave us one of the best ufc fights in history.
Costa is bigger and stronger and hits harder than anyone khamzat has fought, and that's a fact.
Khamzat struggles making welterweight due to his size and listed as being a middleweight, so I don't know why u mentioned bigger in size when khamzat has a size advantage in a lot of fights lol. Also don't know why size would matter if u stated Costa would definitely lose to khamzat lol.
Costa had every right to pull out of that fight. Staph infection in a joint area is very serious, and staph spreads. It's different pulling out of a fight being scared of someone. u can't predict getting a staph infection.
With khamzat immune system, I don't think it would be wise for him to even risk getting staph.
Idn if u actually watched the video but it was if khamzat was overrated or not. U have to look at the opponents someone has faced and fighting and winning against someone like Costa Whitaker or shavkrat would have way more value than some of the tomato cans khamzat faced.

Khamzat is a freaky good mma wrestler, and this would be an interesting topic imo. Why don't more wrestlers transition into mma? It seems like those stats are ridiculous given how many compete in school vs how many are in the ufc. I know they are tough and I know they know how to train. Just seems weird. I don't think people really believe that Khamzat is overrated, more they are angry that he doesn't fight enough after all the hype.
