"Domestic" was an old sewing machine brand.
That must have been the peddle with parts of it broken off.
100% part of the side bracket, I used to play with one my grandma used to have in her house, I can recognize that lettering anywhere.
Tyler, Dude, it really aches me when you use those primitive tools to scrap the rust, may I make some suggestions? Do the soak first then, with use of a dremel or drill with some light wire brushes, use them to clean up the scale and use some small putty knives. That big screwdriver will leave some nasty scratches on a good looking piece.
Might I suggest 'Evaporust' to strip your treasures of rust? It's completely non toxic, and you can safely dunk your hands in it to fetch the things out that you are de-rusting. And maybe a wire wheel on a grinder would make a world of difference, too.
While you were cleaning this my hubby looked over and said it looks like part of the word Domestic, which is a brand of treadle sewing machine. I have one sitting right here in front of me and sure enough it looks just like the leg support for my sewing machine...cool! I'll send you a picture if you'd like. I can post it on Facebook for you.
Ill et the rest of the machine is down there.!!!
I saw it and was thinking the word domestic too.
As I said in the original video, it's the treadle from a Domestic sewing machine.
You've done another good job Tyler. Replace the e with an a and g and you have MAGSTIC. The new name for your boat LOL
Fabulous idea!
You did a fantastic job restoring the sewing machine brand metal piece. Have a great day my friend ❤️🙂⚘️.
My husband says to get a good fire going and put the whole cast iron fry pan in it and leave it until it all glows red. That will burn all the rust etc off. Then you can put olive or or something similar and put it in oven on 200° for a few hours. Then wipe out and repeat if necessary. When it looks like it's back to normal fry potatoes etc in it for a few months. If things stick in it put water in it and boil for a quick minute and THEN wash it. Dry on a med hot burner until dry. Then put about a half tsp of oil in it, wipe it back out and set on burner while it cools. Good luck!!! We love our cast iron skillets!!!!
Nicely done Tyler! I truly love that you made that name plate of iron look like new! I can’t wait to see what you’re going to restore next!
That doesn't look like new 😆
Not to finish it off use a wire wheel to bring back some of the shine … nice job!
A sandblasting cabinet would clean that up nicely
YOU NEED A BENCH GRINDER WITH A WIRE BRUSH ATTACHMENT!!!
Always enjoy your ingenuity
Do you ever sell some of the things you find? Do you have an Etsy or Ebay site?
Dude,restoring items looks fun!
Hopefully you get the correct tools to really restore some of these finds.
Don't really need em anything will work just ask a friend of mine
@@thickgirlsneedlove2190 your friend must be a pro 😆😂
I love Americana restored. Hopefully you can go back and find the other piece(s).
Thats awesome maybe you can go back there an find the missing side that would be so neat love your work everything looks so good after you get done 🌹💯🌹
very pleasant to watch.
I'd say it's pretty likely it once read DOMESTIC and it could have been a store front sign or something (well part of a sign anyways) cool.find nice clean up!!
Nice restoration ❤
You are the greatest thx for all the good years.
Amazing result. Love the video😊
Looks great!
Cool find 😎 & restoration! I'm going with "Domestic" & to bad you couldn't find the complete lettering.
Do you ever use naval jelly? It will take the rust off quick.
Good job. Looks great. Cant wait till you do another. This is a cool video
Looks like the side panel from a old timely Domestic sewing machine, awesome find IMO!
Super-impressive, fascinating, satisfying, and just beautiful to watch. Great job!
You need some small wire brushes for this stuff to put on your boat with you too.
that's the side leg for an old pedal sowing machine
Awesomeness
Love your channels. ♥
Part of a old Domestic sewing machine.
Very cool!
There’s still a lot of stuff on it maybe you can get a small pick and get the rest off. Nice job though!😊
That's part of an old sewing machine foot pedal, I'm guessing Domestic!
Awesome video😎😎❤❤👍👍
Wow looks amazing well done 🙂
Didja hear my applause at 5:53? Just prior to that I was chanting “please use a wire brush, please use a wire brush”. YAY! 😁
ETA Pretty! (Yes I am an adult)
Great job Tyler!
Aha ,it’s a treadle.
I bet the word was “Domestic?”
Ah! I see you do the electrolysis. Cool.
Could use a little dremil to smooth things out
Really enjoyed watching 👀 you clean that up
nice job ;)
Do you keep the item you are going to restore in a bucket of water to make it easier to chip off? Looks great
Electrolysis
@@alexvilonyay8597 I was thinking before this.😊
I found a old sewing machine branded at my big brother farm and there's a 2nd sewing machine that called American brand aswell.😅😢
My dad soaks his rusty tools in coca cola. He said it eats the rust off anything. I wonder if coke would help in restoration?
Just Subscribed You Buddy
Let it soak in vinegar or distilled vinegar for a week for starters 🤷🏻♂️
Domesticated? Domestic?
domestic something? lager?
Maybe it said Domestic??
✅
When are you going to clean those axe heads, iron cauldron, and, skillets?
yup it looks like a piece of the logo(on the pedal) on an vintage sewing maschine. just like arlenebrooks5163 said :)
I have a picture including word domestic where can I send it to you
🎉 great job 👵🏼
Domestic, Domesticated
Domestic
2 weeks ? . . . dropping off, just like Marling did .......... Now, two months ..... hmmmf
I think it's domestic
Domestic waste maybe
It looks like it used to say domesticated broken both sides and was used as a label on a what we call a granny flat now used to be called the slave quarters and was used to label the domesticated slaves and non by a whole household they where very expensive just so the slaves couldn’t afford it and pretend to be domesticated slave domesile
Is THAT the whole of the restoration? 🤔
I'm sorry Cody but you are going about this restoration stuff all wrong and you are destroying most of what you are trying to save. I just can't watch any more.
Please have on a mask
You ruin it!!
we are waiting for the story about the horse.
