This is very helpful for a child I'm teaching! also makes me remember my childhood...I was basically expected to do everything on my own, and told if I didn't do it I would just be "shooting myself in the foot" I really wish I had parents who tried to "teach through love"!!!
I was the kid that always wanted Mom to stay close during my homework time so that I could ask her questions if I got confused or overwhelmed. It is difficult for me, even to this day, (I'm 36 now) to understand instructions by reading. I lean best when its shown in pictures, or video. It would also have helped me with homework if I had a place with everything on hand, pencils, paper, math tools, etc. so that getting set up for homework was not a chore.
Your idea of recording kids own voice (or better voice with video) and then listening it back is very interesting! And not just in relation to homework. Kids often behave "bad" or annoying because they don't really know how it actually looks to others. By seeing recording of themselves kids can get great feedback and work on their appearance, behavior and even style. This method could be helpful in many aspects, I think I'm going to give it a try. Any concerns if this is not a good idea?
Children shouldn't be made to do homework it's lazy. Teachers do t use the right methods of teaching, so they don't fit everything in and so that the school department doesn't find out that children aren't getting full lessons the teacher will give homework to ensure that the work gets done, the teacher will take time out of the kids lives just so that they won't get fired
