I like to imagine that Adam Savage left the house every morning for Mythbusters in full Indy cosplay, and changed into the black T-shirt and jeans as part of his Adam Savage costume.

Yeah, losing something is accidental, and often your own fault.

Adam you deserve a gigantic salary to do and build whatever you want. Your ability to transfer idea into electric stabs from your brain to your fingers and then produce an idea into living matter is priceless and very influential.
You’ve done more for TV than any network could give credit for. I couldn’t count the amount of afternoons growing up watching you blow shit up, jamming your finger or dodging a dangerous situation only to come out optimistic with a huge smile ready to keep rolllin. Your comments on losing things vs losing your health really hit home for me. About 3 months ago I rode a ladder 20ft to the ground and literally broke my body. After 3 surgeries of bone and soft tissue repair and a total hip replacement, I know I may never be able to do the work I used to in telecom/low voltage/integration again. I've lost thousands of dollars worth of tools due theft and accidents, and compared to this all of that is meaningless. You can replace a tool and carry on with the work, but some injuries cannot be recovered from fully. Cherish what you have while you have it, especially your health. One bright spot in all of this is the increased volume of videos you've been putting out really helped keep me occupied during times where all I could do is lay in a bed and recover. For that, I'm grateful to the Tested team.

Loved this video and the comments. My little grandson watched the Indiana movies on vacation; now he's everything indiana. So funny to see him climb the slide, shimmy the swing chain, launch to the rings where he spins dangerously kicking and fighting until he jumps off onto the glider (which I assume is the airplane, but one doesn't know with children) from there, he climbs the little clubhouse . I really hold my breath as he clings to the bars behind him and looks for a safe place to jump. If he gets away, it's not for long, because he's pursued to the trampoline. That's where the real action is: kicking, punching, flipping, pole climbing and ledge walking-Only to do it all again! You can probably tell I'm a big fan of this little Indiana .

What a beautiful and succinct way of coping with the loss of temporary objects. While it is never great to lose or to have stolen from, you do really have to weigh up reality in that sense, but, in the sense of it, fortunately a lot of people haven't lost someone close to them to achieve the perspective required to weigh the outcomes.

"What do you use that for?", Well, this one's a big big for the bedroom, but it's a lot of fun outdoors.. Or just conversations outdoors when I'm practicing, which are often about safety because they aren't toys, and I have the scars to prove it. But that was also one of the best bits of advice I got from Mr Morgan, ie to practice wearing heavy clothing/leather to avoid accidental cuts.

You have taught me many things over the years, but from the story of your whip I have gained the greatest gift of all; and for that I thank you. Sometimes in life you have, or need a song or a book, or stranger who says the right thing at the right time, in this case a story of a lost whip was that thing that brought perspective. So here’s to lost friends and never taking for granted what we have!

@8:00 While in San Diego I cracked a bull whip in the college dorm halls. And yes it was SO loud it got the entire floor's student body out in the hall for the second crack of the whip...
I disappeared into the dorm room before security arrived.

Grant seemed like a wonderful guy and I'm glad all of us had the opportunity to see him work. I kick myself for not taking the opportunity to meet him. I have less than zero interest in autographs, but he was at con and I seriously contemplated paying just to say hi and thank you.

From the first episode of Mythbusters, I have always been impressed with Adam's character. His humor, his positive attitude, his enthusiasm for everything that stirs his curiosity and creativity; he is a person that can only add to life. Ok maybe him making people aware of things to spend money on to buy or make and somethings to buy and make takes away money from life but the things we make, experience, and enjoy is what life is about so I am going to call that a winning exchange that my financial adviser disagrees with. You had me as a fan at "Am I missing an eyebrow?"

Another great thing about the plane scene is, that the first mechanic, who gets knocked out by Indy quite quickly, wakes up when the petrol wave hits him and runs away. That's a few seconds that were not strictly necessary, but it was a human moment. And kept the killcount a bit lower. Many movies forget about extras who are "defeated". (Although one could argue that the pilot meets this exact fate. Being knocked out, lying there, burning horribly in a cockpit.)

That Indy scene has been at Disney World as a stunt show for ages. I remember seeing it about 30 years ago, and when we went back recently, that show was still going, and still fun.

When my minivan was broken into in Barstow, CA, it was a teachable moment. 1) When you stay at a hotel, take everything out of the car 2) You can drive 70 MPH with a duct taped window. Now I always keep construction heafty bags and a roll of duct tape in my cars. I drove all the way from Barstow, CA to Las Vegas with that taped window. Las Vegas had a progressive repair shop that I kept the minivan at for a whole week and didn't even need to pay for parking on that trip. :) The thieves took some shoes, some stage magic gear, and kids clothes. They completely missed my XBOX One Dev Kit and my expensive Hue Go lights. :)

    Mr. Adam Savage,
My first introduction to you as a maker was myth busters, as I’m sure many of your fans are. I have been following your tested channel for a good time now. I am absolutely mesmerized by the way you craft and how you make what’s in your mind a reality. I do not know if I can consider myself a maker, per se, but at the very least I aspire to be one. I have been very creative since I was a young child, mostly focusing on wood work, and have been very excited to see anything you create. I would be thrilled to see more from that field by you. I know you don’t branch out that way often, but I know you have much knowledge to share. I know this seems off topic from the context of your video but I wanted to share my thoughts anyway. I would be honored to hear back from you.

Dude, just want to say I love your passion. Seriously, the effort and care you put into your work is downright inspiring to me.
Also kinda relate to the guy asking about your whip. I used to make paracord bullwhips, and a friend saw me cracking one on the 4th of July and asked if I could make one for his friend who was kinda kinky. I've got no problem with that, really, but I told him no just because these things can actually cause damage if you use them for that kind of stuff.
