The segway because unlike the unicycle, it's really easy to use and yet contains lots of highend technology and on the other side the water glider which exploits hydrodynamics like nothing else but is powered by a really stupid-looking motion

Here from the future, and in the year 2023 Self balancing Unicycles or EUCs are more practical than a car most times. Like just yesterday I was able to cross state lines after doing roughly 40 miles on electric unicycle. And they are a lot faster now reaching speeds of 60 miles per hour for higher in electric unicycles
I am not certain if it was the same unit as this, but I saw someone commuting on an electric unicycle the other day. It was quite trippy to watch as they went over some pretty nasty bumps without seeming to need to shift their weight or flinch. I was thinking about looking up the make and model, but you posted the review first.

You can buy seat posts - third party of course - that have suspension in them. They are designed for bikes, but I'm sure that they'll work on here
You should do a followup on one of the more modern electric unicycles (the standing versions). Speed, range, and comfort have come a long way in 3 years. They are actually turning out to be a practical commuting option.

Linus! You should try the Air Wheel! It's a similar device, but doesn't include the seat. It has a better advertised range and costs at least half as much as the SBU.
Electric unicycles (EUC) are a big thing nowadays. LTT, check some modern ones please. Top performance models have crazy torque (can climb 40° slopes), crazy top speeds (90 km/h????) and battery sizes comparable to hybrid cars that last 100 kilometres.

The ninebot one is feels more practical and safe then that thing. Im riding one of those to work every day (5 km one way) and it works like a dream! Do a review of that instead! ;)
for the price they could have added rubber padding on the stilts so you don't sever your tendons with the aluminum paddle

I can ride an actual unicycle it took about 3 days at about 10 hours a day, until it finally clicked and I was going originally a 10 foot ride to never stopping. I can't imagine trying to relearn this on an electric one.
You could build a shock absorber into the seat shaft, to make it more comfortable.

I can't agree with you about the SBUv3 not being practical.
Have you been the supermaket on a Sunday with half hour before closeing?
It's great for that because you don't have to lock it up out side the supermarkets and it goes shopping with you therefore saves time and hassle about it being robed.
Then being hands free you can carry your shopping home with both hands.
Comfort factor is determined on tyre pressure, the softer you have it the smoother the ride but the down side to that is the range is less than what you can get out of the SBUv3 if the tyre pressure is harder which improves the range on the ride you get from the SBUv3.
Plus the SBUv3 dose all the leg work so you arrive sweat free unlike riding a bike.
Perfect for going to work every day.
Crowds are not a problem like a you get with a bike with the size and handle bars pocking everyone you pass.
Pushing the SBUv3 thought a crowd and no one even notice it.
You keep it in the corner of the living room where it's safe, secure and dry.
Not in the garage or back garden or shed where it could get robed or rot with the weather.
I know all this because I've been riding the SBUv3 around Liverpool, in and out of pubs, museum, supermarkets and no problem from the law since February 2014....( ;

Linus, you should try an electric uniwheel. (Solowheel, RockWheel, Airwheel, etc. There are many) its basically the same but without the seat and with a better battery. The catch is that you can get one at 200$ - 300$ instead of 1700$
I use it as an inCampus transportation.
I'm going to dress up as dat boi and use this as my main transport

Linus y'all should take a look at the Ninebot One E+ just as much speed with double the range. Seems pretty cool
actually falling from a unicycle is extremely safe, you always land feet first, there is nothing you trip over, and you generally face the direction you are falling.

I really like the idea of small personal electric vehicles and i think they definitely could have a spot in this modern world. I i agree with linus in a lot of ways, but I still think im going to get a zboard2 instead. pretty cool though!

Korean kid just passed me on one of these at the park 2 days ago, not this brand probably, his had awesome ORANGE paint on parts of it. I don't think his even had a seat to sit on. Bet the price is almost $2,000 USD.
Hey Linus! You should really take a look at the SoloWheel, it's almost the same as the SBU except you can only stand on it

um there are standing SBU that are way better than the sitting SBU that in my own opinion has more reliability and practical use. as far as optional modes of transportation that also scream tech geek would be rocket skates if i wanted to go reasonable distances that are relatively a few miles with out a car electric skates boards scooters, bikes(unicycles) all have their advantages and disadvantages. My AirWheel gives me a good ride and i can actually wear my backpack on it with out the fearful feeling of falling off. There will never be a mode of transportation in our life time that fully replaces the car unless we get movement in startrek style beam me up transport.

Linus, try adjusting the seat height so that you are standing on the foot pegs, with the seat just as a third point of contact.
