Can't believe I found this. I was feeling nostalgic today, and thought I'd try looking up the old unit on the good old interweb. I was in C co 2/15th 3 platoon as a dismount on C33 Bradley at the same time you shot this video. The guy driving the bumper car at 53:40 looks very familiar. Anyway, thanks for posting. It was a nice walk down memory lane.
I was in Germany during the same time frame. Got to Hauau (Fliegerhorst) in Jan 89 and PCSed after Desert Storm in August 1991. Man, we were living the dream and didn't even know it. I'd pay a million bucks to go back in time.
Was with 3/4 CAV on Conn Barracks in Schweinfurt from 90-93. Thanks for posting. We made that road march too around the same time, and hearing them talk about the wash rack brings back some bad memories. Nothing like washing in cold weather with cold water, and bad water pressure for turning what should be a one hour job into a half day affair, and no matter how you put on your wet weather gear you always got soaked.
Brother, it sucks recovering your track after a 35 day in Hoenfels, on a cold day, wet weather gear, feeling the suck! Tired, you're the driver, other guys in warm barracks, but yet, you are recovering a vehicle that was definitely abused.....hooah
It's amazing to see everything being set up in the beginning. When I came to Hoenfels October of 92 the opfor was more developed. We were CSC co. A.T. platoon. We were the biggest killers of Mike 1ns and bradds. I'd kill 13 m1s on a mission. We'd fight Germans, Spanish, French, Italians, Dutch, English and Polish.
I was A Co. 1/15 at Conn Barracks from '90-92. I think I still have mud in places where there shouldn't be any... The Green Goose made everything better! LOL
Thanks for a look back at the good old days. Bravo 2-64 Armor Conn Barracks 1992 to 1996. I am still here in Schweinfurt today. Sad to inform you that Ledward and Conn are closed. No more GI's. Now the posts house refugees from Syria and other lands.
Great times in Germany during that time. I was in Aco. 94th Engr Bn in Darmstadt 1989-1992. Spent time TDY in Hohenfels layed some blocks walls and even did a 2 story concrete block building.
I was there D Co 2/15 Infantry 2plt, My first field time January 1991, It was snowing and hit 10 below. At 7:55, Dave Buchman is in the Bradley Turret, We moved on to Fort Polk later in the same platoon. We were in sleeping bags and it was the coldest i ever have been in the Army. Overall, it was a good time even though i was a pvt-2.
Cool video! I spent lots of time over there in 86 and 1987 was with C company 237th ENG BN 7th ENG BDE.it was either dusty or muddy as hell and cold and wet of course.
Geesh,...what great memories. I can just smell the mogas and the stagnant mud as you drive your 113,..dont forget to check the final drive bolts when you stop and perform maintenance..ha ha ha!. I was with 1-1 Cav out of Budingen back in 93-95. What a great video.
Thanks for bringing back memories ! I was in 3/66 Armor, 2AD in Garlstadt 1988-1990, medic driving a 113A2. Bergen Belsen TA was better than Hohenfels!
