Non-musicians have no clue how incredibly impressive this is
Why do you assume that? Why do you care? Why can't you just say that you admire it? Why does there have to be some villain or stooge?
@@jerbear7952 because it looks easier than it actually is
Having tried playing on a signal trumpet, I certainly do ... and I couldn't play music if my life depended on it.
You must have a quite solid embouchure to be changing pitches and trilling without valves or holes! For that I applaud you! Well done!
Without dropping it too😂
I think he’s just lip syncing. Lol
@@spankyhanderson3680 "Lip syncing" could be just a very literal definition of how this particular instrument is played...
@SavageArfad, valves do more than release air pressure. They change the length of the tube from the mouthpiece to the bell, and so they change all the pitches in the harmonic series that the tube produces. This way, you get a complete choice of notes so you can play chromatic music in any key.
Without valves, you can only play C, G, etc... Valves are indeed used to get inbetween these musical notes.
Thanks to everyone for all those positive comments! IThey motivate to keep up the work on this wonderful instrument!
Simply Outstanding.

Truly amazing. I really enjoyed this.
Do you like Football or any sports?
I love the timbre of a well-played natural trumpet. To my ear, the quirky intonation in the upper register adds a sweetness to the sound.
non valved trumpets sound like that, some of the tones are slightly too sharp, for the adjusted scale used today. Another trivia bit: The march is also known in Denmark, but by the popular title: "Prins Jørgens march" , still accredited to Jeremiah Clarke. So the prins in question was "Jørgen", a quite common Danish first name.
@@Tore_Lund Specifically, the "Prince of Denmark" was Prince George of Denmark, Queen Anne's husband. George is Jørgen in Danish.
If it ain't baroque, fix it
get out
Lol
Fix it 'til it is!
🤣
Quagmire
これはリップスラーだけでやってるんか………
すご…
As a fellow musician, impressive. Anyone can play a valved instrument, playing a natural one is the real deal. No where to hide.
- seriously! ??? You can hit that many notes without valves ? Absolutely amazing ! And beautifully done ..
- YES! Please - by all means stay motivated to develop your repertoire on this instrument - and please continue to share with us!
He's playing high on the harmonic series, which when coupled with subtle embouchure changes, makes a full scale possible.
Bravo!
Wow you here! Anyway, I also love the sound of the baroque trumpet.
So nobody gonna comment on how strong is his left arm ? Must be painful extending and holding like that :/
:D
Fancy Obsession not to mention his lips and lungs. There are no valves on that thing all those notes are him
@SavageArfad 🤦😂 I hope you're joking
SavageArfad Hahahabaha no
Many hours of practice and you develop the enduance.
Best "Prince of Denmark's March" Performance so far on UA-cam, simple with just two instruments, but so sublime and delicate, majestic and delightful to my ears, this 1:14 video enchants me. God Bless You two.
The best performance i have ever heard on this piece! Bravo!
A genuine talent and music lover. Not for show but for soul
A precise, and pleasing performance by two gifted musicians. Well played!
Stunning. I played lower brass semi professionally, and never heard this played so well, and without valves or slides. Thank you.
Thank you for this beautiful music. Although I am not a musician, I still have ears.
I have probably played this over half my life for weddings and church.
The weddings must have been splendid. The divine bride, clad in all white, walking down the aisle with this tune which evokes a sense of grandeur but also a subtle melancholy, is quite apt for the atmosphere at a wedding.
George Felty wow!
Yep, Same here. I first played it in Church when I was in 10th Grade. Now 53 years later I’m still trying to get it right. 😉
Yes, and it is sometimes mistakenly entitled and accredited as “Trumpet Voluntary, by Purcell”. I’d say it’s more like Trumpet Mandatory!
I am all for anyone who has the ability to blow their own trumpet
Bravo just bravo.
Watching from Wolverhampton England.
Stay safe everyone
Finally a version that makes sense.
I want to listen to this music for an hour.😊
wow just stumbled on this. Your playing is amazing and the sound is so pure. Thank you.
まじですげぇ……リップスラーの神様やん……
amazing piece and performance,thank you!
Wow what simple clarity and purity.
I think this is the first time I've heard this piece or this instrument played this well. Thank you for posting. Your precision and phrasing is lovely.
When i get to heaven i'm going to learn how to play the trumpet like this even if it takes me ten thousand years!!
You don't need to. Idk what age you are but chances are you're capable. Try it!
Why not start now instead of in heaven?
Start learning since you are still alive. Because you might be asked when you get to heaven why didn't you learn it while on earth
@@KINGBublepop I am 57. Tried learning trumpet when I was 9, and failed miserably. Perfectly content now to sing in the shower.
@Regal Cross only stay here till Jesus returns
Tremendous playing by both of you! Thank-you for an uplifting musical episode.
So, so good - both of you are wonderful!
WOW! That’s beautiful! Such a clean pure sound.
Astounding and beautiful! Thank you.
That was wonderful! I love the sound! Both musicians were excellent! Thank you for sharing this.
This is done so well absolutely love it🎺🎹🎼
Bravo! Absolutely top performance!
Being a philistine where any music is concerned, always loved this piece but never realised it was played on an instrument with no valves:
Who'd have thought such a simple piece of pipe could be so complex? ☺
An alphorn can hit pretty much every note....I AM impressed that something of a trumpet length can do so as well.
@@samsignorelli do you know if it is possible to play this on a trombone without changing positions?
@@isaacrichter1101 Yes. Use a Baroque Trumpet mouthpiece and practice playing stupid high. I think the highest note is 13th partial? The lip trills are MUCH harder to play in Bb than higher keys, IMO.
Usually it is played on a modern valved trumpet but I prefer the brighter sound of the Baroque trumpet. It's also interesting to hear it played on the instrument it was written for. Excellent an instrument as the modern trumpet is, it's a very different instrument.
Not only the embouchure, but the ear is vital when there are no valves. A great gift! Wonderful organ as well. Thank you both for this all-too-brief video!
This is the most beautiful version I've heard of this piece.
Just a single word: Bravo!
Stunning performance by both of you - made me fall in love with this piece!
That was fantastic. What a musician. Bravo. Thank you. 🦋☮️💖
Very impressive. A remarkable listening experience. Thank you.
Wow! What a wonderful video to come across. I've seen Natural trumpets mostly in artwork but never heard one. I love it! Thanks for sharing.
Wow! Amazing.
Marvelous! Such a clean crisp performance.
What could be more beautiful and inspiring than baroque music played on the trumpet?
Wonderful control and phrasing !!!!
And the organist gave a wonderful performance , too !!!!
Congratulations to both of you for a great video !!!!
Wonderful! I appreciate hearing this music as it was no doubt intended. Keep up the good work!

Incredible, fantastic
Man, as a trumpet player I thought I'd NEVER want to hear the Clarke again, but your performance is so lively and lovely that I could really enjoy it as a new piece! You've won a fan in under 90 seconds!
Beautiful, wonderful👌🎺🎶. I play it one time at a wedding. My performance pale when i hear this
Beautiful!!!!

That is incredible!
Awesome trumpet playing! Bravo!
That's some amazing skill!!
Absolutely heavenly. The prince of Denmark would be very favourably impressed. Cheers!
Good god man, this is phenomenal!
no idea why the youtube algorithm deemed me worthy of seeing this but i'm glad it did.
Excellent presentation!
When my dear girlfriend became my wife, coming up on 34 years now, this was the music I chose for the recessional. For some silly reason that I do not know, the pastor strongly suggested we move quickly out of the church. Oh, to have remained in step and in time for the duration of the music!
The Trumpet Voluntary has had a special place in my heart since I was in the third grade, and then made extra special at our wedding when I was 25.
That was beautiful :D 😁🎺 well done !!! 🥇🏆
Darn awesome
Ok, pure coincidence I landed here, but my god, this is awesome 🤯❤️
Brilliant! It’s a joy to hear this on the national trumpet.
