  • In November 2023 we said goodbye to Professor Ewan Fordyce, an esteemed paleontologist and friend to many, who is perhaps best known for his work on Cenozoic cetaceans and penguins. But Ewan’s interests and expertise were far broader than just these clades, and his contributions to natural history provided far ranging insights across the ancient biota of Zealandia and beyond. In this talk I will visit each of the traditional Linnaean vertebrate classes (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals) and briefly describe fossils on these branches of the tree of life that Professor Fordyce worked on across his amazing career.
Presented by Daniel Thomas on March 28 2024.
