      I have dreamed about paleontology studies since my early childhood. It was couple of years ago, that I realized it is possible to study here, where I live... So now im taking steps to fulfill my dream as a 32 year old paleo-nerd, whose passion have never seized to exist. We dont actually have fossils in our ground, or atleast they are extremely rare... Most of the recearch is taking place in other countries in Europe and Africa.

      I think Paleontology is the most useless study... Niggas getting their Ph.D in that weak sht.
      Like getting your Ph.D in Egyptology and you’re from the state. Niggas be on the History channel speaking about findings and only stepped foot in The Met museum in Manhattan, NY. or liberal arts with no attachment.. no math and science, or History just Liberal Arts.. I never got those garbage. At least English makes more sense but half these niggas don’t even know archaic language, or grammatical structure... why do English and only do modern? Why not Old? Some of these courses they offer students much more Ph.D’d in is to take money....
      Shawty told me she’s going to get her masters degree in cosmetology... I was actually impressed. I’m thinking she’s going to be doing surgery, and probably even do some extra courses to become a plastic surgeon and crap.. Shawty said: nah, I’m more of an esthetician.... Meaning shawty going to school just to apply make up. These majors stupid asf!
      All these random ass, nonsensical degrees out here and niggas still don’t have one... Just get your bachelors in Liberal Arts (forget the attachment just get that sht) you’ll be respect for having a degree but not respected for the field but at the end of the day you have a degree! Or do something in video games... if yahl lazy. My friend got an associates degree and gets paid $50-70 an hr to test video games. He even does traveling and is about to start a UA-cam channel to increase the funds... YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A PLAN!!! Yahl just playing video games or making comments spending hours on the sht, not knowing you could become a professional commentator, making reviews on movies, software, programs Tv’s etc... and get paid to do so... Smh. Just plan!!! We got these 80 yo telling us what we like.... how th do you know? “I was young too”... sthu niggas playing cards without numbers times evolve bluh!

    Go for it! If you're still looking for colleges, find one with a good geology program. You'll need a lot of knowledge about earth processes and rocks out in the field. Bio is good, too! As is physics and chemistry. You should definitely get a degree if you haven't already- your job opportunities will expand. It's a hard field to get into, but keep working for it!
    Good luck!

    I always had a bad outlook on school because of my ADHD that was never taken care of or realized when I was a child living at home. I am 19 and with a bleak outlook on school, was just introduced to proper medication for my ADHD due to my sister in laws help. I was able to focus for once in my life and it was freeing. So I made a 10 year plan. I’m gonna be going to college with goals of achieving my masters in Paleontology and possibly consider getting my PDH further down the line aswell. I’ve always loved the idea of studying prehistoric life but I was held back and due to never being able to focus on one task for more than 5 minutes. I’m so excited for my future and can’t wait to possibly meet some of the greats on my way up the chain. Thank you for taking the time to read, have a wonderful day. :)

    • @squarefish9936
      @squarefish9936 2 роки тому +1

      I think it would, for a number if reasons:
      1. Many people travel alot despite having families and make it work.
      2. One excavation can be so delicate that it takes years to finish so it would be easy to relocate your family plus they wouldn't have to move more often than normal people.
      3. Excavations are only a fraction of the work. You would study different bones and skeletons in museums and universities ( assuming they are close to where your family lives )so you wouldn't be away on excavations as much as you might think.
      4. Even if you're away alot your children would be proud to have a palaeontologist as a parent.
      So if it's your dream then work hard for it and keep going! I'm also thinking about becoming a palaeontologist but there are so many doubts and obstacles in my way.

    The downside is that you will have to work very hard, for many years in school. The upside, is that you will have to work very hard, for many years in school. You have to love to learn and discover or you will burn out by your junior year of college. Take it one step at a time, alot of people get so focused on the end goal that all of the "busy" work you'll have to do in intro level courses seems boring and burns them out. Enjoy the moment, every class, every paper, every interaction.

    My son has been obsessed with dinosaurs and prehistoric animals since he was about 2 years old. In kindergarten they said it was a phase, he is now 8 years old and in grade 3 and the dream is still going strong. He has to go to the museum every year to look at the dinosaur exhibits. He watches as many documentaries as he possibly can and can identify and provide facts on hundreds of dinosaurs. He is borderline gifted and determined this is going to be his career path. Hopefully some day his dream will become reality.

It has some of the biggest carnivorous dinosaurs in the world. See if you can contact anyone. Contacts are everything.

      Definitely not! 7th grade is still young! Just do half an hour of extra math after school roughly 5 times a week and you will pick yourself up. Math isn't he only thing you need to be good at for palaeontology. Follow your dreams and you can achieve anything!
