It's so nice to watch Forest play in 2022 counter strike 1.6. I watched your demos back in 2008. Then Fnatic showed aerobatics! Those were the times! I think that nothing can replace counter strike 1.6. It's a classic... I still play counter-strike 1.6 to this day...

NOW You reminded me my love for shooting through walls like that 3:50 guessing where they stand :) earlier we used "wallbang sounds" we called it :D I think it wasnt forbidden, until sometime in leagues but now Im thinking maybe that period in time got me see probabilities when its hit and when isnt.
I was playing CSGO recently for a bit and one time when I got killed. Ive been looking at graphics of the game and wonder in the chat: Jeez are you guys aware that we are playing fkin plain CS:Source??!!!! (cs1.6 player) nobody gets it I Guess. I just got angry :D (we used to hate source in every way)

I really think 1.6 could make a comeback in the pro scene. Its such a classic and has a different feel than cs:go. It would attract a different player base, maybe older and less "serious" but still its one of the best games ever its worth it.
yeah its not happening because that would take away eyes and players from their modern cs which gives them lots of money through skins and cheaters re-buying accounts its a whole ecosystem which i wouldn't think a second alternative version of the game would help them with by "splitting" the community, etc.
Big companies are all about the money in this day and age, so its just unlikely to happen. It will only happen if they think it will make them more money.
But other than that, i agree. I quit playing cs almost cold tourkey once CSGO became mainstream and cs 1.6 was abandoned, i didn't want to even try to make an adjustment, i played csgo once and i knew its just not the same. 1.6 is in my vains and when i hear counter strike, i think of 1.6 period.

I started playing 1.6 again recently. And I have a lot of fun. Especially because I have found a good server with pure cs. No mods and more maps than de_dust2 constantly, although people there, play it the most. I was also thinking about hosting my own server, in 1.6 and Source
