- How to bypass the restrictions on your hotel tv/remote to get your console/computer to work properly on the hotel tv. I didn’t mention it in the video, but when I reconnected the box on the back of the tv it reconnected with no issues as it was when I arrived
Yoooo thank you so much.. UPDATE!!!! Unplug that box AND unplug the tv for 10 seconds to reset it.. the new Marriot remotes wont control the tv unless the tv is reset, once reset you can control everything!! Enjoy everyone

@@TheTruth175644 thanks boys. I was playing on xbox earlier and the audio was fine but then I turned it on again and shit turned way too loud and had that same input problem. Definitely helped a lot but took a bit of fidgeting
I can confirm this works an hour of trying different things. Unplug any cords from the box to the tv. Unplug the tv power for 10 sec or so. And bam controller should be able to adjust volume. Yessirrr

I think they figured it out. I unplugged the whole damn box and every wire going into it. Only thing that was hooked up was the tv power cable and the switch HDMI going into it and I still couldn't turn the TV down. It was loud asf. I don't get why these hotels would even have issue with me playing my video games on their tv. Makes no sense to me.

Key was to unplug the IP cable box power @ the box (not wall) & its HDMI out cable from the TV; then plugging the Roku into that HDMI slot & Roku handles the rest including volume & power controls.
The volume does start from 100 each time tho 😂.
This is why UA-camrs are so helpful.
Note to those who are still finding this video today, you don't have to pull out the TV stand to unplug the box, just find the power input plug on the box itself and unplug it
Same problem here today at Home 2 Suites. Unplugging the box, nothing would work. However I did find in the Xbox settings under stereo you can turn off stereo volume via hdmi. I use a headset and works great!

probably uses some type of bluetooth or wifi direct for the remote and when it cant connect to the box it defaults to IR mode which then allows you to use the remote fully with the TV instead of interfacing with the box

Had same issue and noticed an Ethernet cable that went to the tv. Unplugged that and I was able to turn audio down!!!

Actually if you just unplug the mpi cord (phone cord) from the tv you eliminate the entire system from controlling the tv while that is plugged in you are controlling the set top box (lg box) when you remove it you regain control of the tv power cycle it and your done

I just stayed the exact hotel same set up and everything, I tried everything you said and even read the comments to unplug certain things and still doesn’t work. Screen just goes black when I finally almost get it to work

Dang man I’m here at super 8 hotel and the same thing is happening with this restricted tv. There’s no box like that on this one or manual buttons. The only thing is the arris cable box.

I’m not sure I understand what issue you’re having? I can’t make another video as I’m not in a hotel at the moment. But, I still may be able to help. Connect what exactly? Your device? It should just plug right into the hdmi port on the back of the tv.

You know this helped I payed 20$ deposit and I was wondering if I unplug the boxs HDMI port or mess with it, will I get my money back, I brought my Xbox one to update cod mw and cold war, where I live there is no wifi and I'm just scared to do anything with the tv 😣
If it’s the exact setup in the video, then I imagine that if it’s like my experience then all you need to do is reconnect everything and it will go back to how it was with the direct connect.
I remember when I hooked everything back up to how it was when I got there, it worked as if I didn’t touch anything.

Tried this but didn’t resolve the problem.
We have the same issue but when I disconnect the TV to reset the controls (like the comments say) but it won’t reset so the TV won’t even turn on with the remote. Please help!
