Hi! Another video that is long overdue! I have been promising this video for a long time. My most popular videos are the nursing videos I made talking about community college nursing. So to be more helpful I decided to share all the community college nursing prerequisite classes I took and how I created my own class schedule as a pre nursing student. Pretty much, this video will tell you what requirements are needed for nursing school :) I also share an amazing resource called nursing.com and share the valuable educational tools for future nurses within the website. Thanks love! Your nursing videos were so helpful, you definitely inspired me. I was nervous and scared to go back to school for my nursing CNA first after LVN THAN RN LASTLY BSN BUT you inspire me thank you!
Keep them videos coming ♥️👌
Thanks for the support 💕
I was looking for a video like this answers all my questions. Thanks so much!!
Love this! Glad it helped
Give this video a like if you found it valuable! Are you almost done with your prerequisites?
@Bella UA-cam channel valuable information! I’m a visual person so I like the videos and cheat sheets.
How long it takes to complete ADN along with Pre reqs?
Thanks a lot❤❤❤
You're welcome 😊
I have a question, since I’m about to graduate high school through homeschool (age 16), am I still permitted into community colleges as long as I have parent permission, since I’m underage? Or what can I do after I graduate to save time? My goal is to be an RN
I honestly don’t know but I remember seniors in high school would take some classes in community college. I’d ask a school counselor and see what your options are
Yes u can
Do i need to take gen ed classes like general biology & elementary statistics even though im not transferring to a university? Thank you
Yea cuz it’s part of the nursing prerequisites. I had to do them for community college. Now if it’s a private school, I’m not sure. May be different prerequisites. Not sure about that
Thanks for complete information. I am IMG and now migrated to us.Can I have prerequisites you mentioned except math or statistics to get RN.
Each nursing program has specific requirements so I suggest you google the school you’ll be attending to take a look
what was the government class for ? & do we have to take it in order to complete our prerequisite?
If I remember correctly it was part of the associate degree
Going to sign up for prereq in a community college but my issue is college algebra
Hey, that’s good! You’ll just have to study a bit more if you feel like algebra is an issue. You got this!
Did you go to LAVC? They told me to get A (not less) in all prerequisites to be even considered for the program (and then the lottery will take place) so even if you get all A's and high score at TEAS the lottery will decide if you get accepted on the program. By the way is it true that if you work overtime and the weekend you can earn over 20k a month in LA?
Did not go to LAVC. A lot of nursing programs are lottery system. In regards to LA, I don’t know but sounds outrageous.
Hey, I'm a Kenyan student who wants to come to study nursing at a Community College. How do I do the prerequisite classes? Is there a general course on that ?and is the general course maybe Education because I've seen that's where the classes are.
The prerequisites classes are done in college. there is not a general course for them.
hello nancy did you get to go study nursing at the community college? Kindly share your experience as im also a kenyan trying to do the same
Hi!! Do you know how long it typically takes to complete both the prerequisites and nursing program for an ASN degree?
About 4 years if you really push though the prerequisites classes and plan accorisngly
Hi, I am an international student with a GED diploma. I'm very interested in the healthcare industry. I would like to apply for the ADN nursing program. The thing is, how should I deal with prerequisites? Since applying for a nursing school needs prerequisite, I may not be accepted. I am thinking of applying for a biology major, while dealing with the prerequisites then transfer for ADN program. Do you think it's possible? If not, what should I do?
You should apply for college or university (which ever u choose) do pre requisite classes first with the general education classes in order to even qualify for nursing school. I got my associate in science just by doing general Ed and prerequisite classes. After that, I applied for nursing school.
@@LifeAsWendyRN Thanks a lot. I might apply for a community college since it's not very costly. Can international students apply for pre requisites while attending?
I'm sorry i know nothing abt that 😭
@@phonethitkhine8310 yea I think u can, I'm an international student and I'm gonna deal with an agency to get me CC admission in the nursing program.. so you can apply to a CC since it is affordable. Still, the thing is, you won't study the major specifically at a CC till you transfer to a uni\ college and to transfer to it and pursue a bachelor's degree you'll get a transfer degree, these degrees offer more general education classes such as English, math, science..
I have a question so I have a community college that is accredited and has prerequisites since its a 2 year will i do all pre reqs and also do the nursing program in that same community college?
Yea you can do it all there
hi, is it possible to finish pre req in a year?
I don’t think so but I could be wrong. Every semester you’d take a different science class. Plus every science class has a prerequisite to get into it.
hi I’m currently a senior taking ap bio and ap psych and ap lit and anatomy and physiology 1&2 would taking those classes benefit me in nursing school?
From what I remember, if you pass the AP test those credits will go to ur college courses. Those are a part of prerequisite classes
Do I need to do my pre requisites before applying to the nursing program?
Yes you do
What major do you need to take in community college to transfer to UC
For nursing, you’d end up with an associate in science if you did all your prereqs in community college
How many months is usually need to finish your pre-requisites i just stsrted to apply at hcc houston for lvn
Took me about 2 years. Really depends on how you make ur schedule and plan your classes
32 years old mom of 3 beautiful kids currently taking pre-requisite at HCC Houston. thank you for this video I was wondering which classes I can take together to avoid overload myself?
im a freshman in college i want to get my ADN i have so many questions idk where to start im stressing so much i have no help from family or anything maybe 2 friends that dont even really know what they are talking abtout 😔
Have u talked to a counselor?
Hi ! Is it a good idea to take Biology and Math in the same semester?
I did but depends how you feel about taking them together.
thank you for this information. Is the website free or paid ?
Paid service
Good 👍
How much time does it take to complete prerequisite classes if i start this fall?
About 2
2 what

Hi!! I just came here in USA and planning to study nursing. Do I have to get my pre-requisite first before I can proceed to BSN??
Yes, prerequisites to even get into the nursing program
Is Rn and BSN have differences in their own??
@@milindagurung3594 RN is a license. BSN is a degree.
Im not sure if I’m answering your question so let me know.
@@LifeAsWendyRN thank you so much
Did you take them at a community college or online?
Community college. Forever ago lol 2007-2009
Hi. I just moved in the US (California) and I still am confused with the community college system (because we don't have that in the Philippines). Do I just enroll to community college, talk to a counselor and research, and sign up to the prerequisite classes for ADN that I need? Is that how it works or did I get it wrong?
Also some community colleges do not have an ADN program (I'm planning to take my ADN in a community college). Do I need to take my prerequisites on the same community college where I will do my ADN or I can just take my prerequisites in one community college (nearest to me) then transfer to a community college with an ADN program after?
The best thing to do is talk to a counselor first to help guide you through the process. Based off of my experience, you would have to apply to community college and take an entrance exam. based off of that, you’ll know which classes to start with. Keep in mind that certain nursing prerequisite classes have prerequisites so you would have to do those classes too.
Yes, you should be able to transfer but you’d have more of a chance if you do your prerequisite within the same community college system.
Hi! I'm also a Filipino and just moved in the U.S (Illinois) din. I'm gonna tell you what I did sana pero baka we have different plans kasi. BSN or RN ka na ba sa Pilipinas and gusto mo kunin Associate Degree mo here or first time college student ka?
@@katrinaoliva Hi ate Kat! I’m also an incoming college student here in the US. Can you share what your path was too because I am planning to finish with an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing then work while hopefully being able to get my BSN online
@@rixnana Hii, sureee! I started my class no’ng June 5 lang. Here’s what I did ((:
1. I applied as a degree seeking student at my community college. Sent them my high school transcripts and my green card.
2. You need to take a placement test! Don’t worry kasi for sure someone will guide you, you just have to call the admissions office ng college mo (:
3. Academic counceling. Dito I booked an appointment to review my assessment/placement scores and nag-create na rin kami ng schedule ng kukunin kong classes. I chose to start this June kasi ayoko magsayang ng oras hahaha.
4. Kapag natapos ko na ‘tong general subjects, I’m gonna take the Kaplan Nursing Assessment Test. Para siyang entrance exam for nursing school. If nakapasa ako, start na ‘yun ng parang 2nd year ko, ‘yung subjects ko na ro’n ay ‘yung nursing subjects. So bale two years na lahat ‘yon. Pwede na grumaduate (ADN).
My plan after graduation sa community college is go straight to a university. I will see kung kaya ko mag work while studying. Btw, you have to apply for FAFSA kasi laking tulong nun, financial aid ‘yun (: You need to know your college’s transfer program pala. Tignan mo if magtatransfer sa pupuntahan mong uni. ‘yung classes na tinake mo sa community college.
Goodluckkk and if you have any more questions, go lang ☺️
How long did it take to complete
About 2 years
is there a free version
For?
Do I have to get my pre requisite first before I can proceed to ADN right?
Yes
Thank you! Do you have any idea for international students? That can have credits (classes that already taken from high school or colleges) here in US from their school back in the other country ?
@@donessasantoyo2118 I’m not sure about that
@@donessasantoyo2118 Yes! In order to do this, you need to convert those credits first. You may use WES it is a major platform known for converting grades.
So why did you take the classes like American government if that’s not what you need to get in to the nursing program
Need that to get the AS degree
