My rivet counting Napoleonic skills are low, but I'll just say wrong headgear? I'm liking the 50 hoplites per month challenge you're giving yourself. Glad to see the new Victrix ones are a lot more dynamic looking. I'm 99% done my Spartans and started my Republican Romans, and they're going smoothly. If you do part of the wall for the Battle of Rome, I'd do a small section bisecting a corner to A) let everyone know it is there and B) make less work for yourself C) you won't have everyone's sleeves and beer bellies knocking it over every time they try to move their guys. If you have the river and the bridge it should really sell the whole scene.

Good ideas! I need to check out your Spartan videos. Just looked at your channel and you've uploaded a ton of stuff. For some reason UA-cam barely recommends any wargaming content to me this past year. Like only the biggest name stuff.

Awesome looking hoplites! Great project plans for the future. Looking forward to see how they turn out.

Excellent projects, really looking forward to the miniatures for the Sicilian campaign. Lots of possible troops and nationalities you could choose from. Those close order, deep ranked hoplites are going to look fantastic. I am curious to find out what route(s) you go down for decorating all those aspis shields.

Thanks man! Current plan for the shields is doing about 30-50% transfers on the shields and the reminders just plan bronze. Painting shields is just not my thing! I would go full transfers but it's just too expensive. Plain bronze shields are a good time and money saver and reasonably accurate.

Okay for your Fenchie Grenadier figures, lots of things happening here. Now from a bit of a blurry video I can see off the top the headgear w/pom pom. The pom pom style/shape looks more of a Voltigier/Legere style, not a grenadier. Missing the black gaiters which were used at different times during the Napoleonic wars. Then it's hard to see the white facing trimmed in red, red color epaulets and cuffs, and the white coat tails trimmed in red with red grenadier design/logo. Definitely cannot tell if he's wearing the grenadier sword style from the video. Further if we're button counting, cannot tell if he has the brass eagle on his ammo pouch. Officers would have gold trim on Shako and epaulets, while rank and file would be red. Whew...hope this helps. BTW good update video too!

Excellent critique and yes my poor Napoleonic painting plays int this! Good notice on the tail coats, the plume comes down to my ignorance, but the biggest factor is... the body is actually a British body! I wasn't paying attention while assembling and stuck the French stuff on a British infantry dude!

@@TriariusWarGaming Aaah...well only you would now that...the video wasn't the best. But, I may have done something similar like that in the past when I was short a part or two..

Great update! Looking forward to seeing how the projects progress. Apprecaite you know a lot more about the ancients period than I, but I have just finished reading a book called "Carthage At War - Punic Armies c. 814 - 146 BC" by Joshua R. Hall (Pen & Sword, Published 2023) - A lot of the focus was on Syracuse, so may be of interest? Also, if you are looking to paint greeks quickly, can I recommend Sakura pigma micron pens for patterning the bottom and sleeves of tunics and leather panels on the lionthorax? Best of luck, hope you are doing well!

Thanks man! I will check out that book! TBH I don't know much about Ancient Sicily and these conflicts so that is an excellent suggestion. I love the idea of micron pens, I will have to investigate those going forward.
