2006 Jaguar XJR Detailed Full Tour

  • So I've owned this 2006 Jaguar XJ-R for a bit over 2 years and thought it was time to do a full review of the car. I show you the details of the exterior, trunk, interior and under the hood.
    The XJR gets the 4.2L V8 that is supercharged so puts out 400 horsepower. This car is a blast to drive and really turns heads and gets attention.
    My car is a 2006 but the car only had minor changes from 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. It was slightly refreshed the following year and then Jaguar completely refreshed the XJ flagship sedan for 2009 I believe it was.
    This 06 Jag has the unmistakeable Jag look from the front. It has such fine craftsmanship and build quality. My car here has about 85,000 km which is a little under 54,000 miles after 12 years.
    I hope you enjoy this full tour - walk around with a startup exhaust clip. If you like it, click the thumbs up and subscribe. Thanks for watching.

    Your walk through of this car really hit home for me. My grandfather purchased a 04 version brand new. He only drove it on Sundays and kept it in mint condition. He passed in 2015 and the car still sits in his garage. My uncle had it professionally detailed and starts it on Sundays whenever he’s able to. He cries every time he does it, like a tribute to his dad. After watching your video, I get it now. This was ahead of its time and still by today’s standard is more equipped than most cars. Thank you for this video ❤️

    Now that's a beautiful car. I'm a huge Mercedes fan and the only other luxury sedan I'd ever consider is the JAG. This car has hell of a lot more "spirit" than BMW and Audi.

    I bought a 2009 xj vanden plas 3 yrs ago with 39k miles out of Miami. Love it. Never had a car like this b4. I ran it on 95 at 100mph. It felt like I was riding on air. It is blue with full chrome package. I have the side vents on it. Everywhere I go people stare, take pics of it. I get nods from people when I'm at the stop light etc. It's in mint condition. Happy with it & will never get rid of it. Thanks for ur review of this car. As far As I am concerned, it is the last true Jaguar they made.

    Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! When Jaguar was a Jaguar as opposed to the new 2009 shape onwards, which completely destroyed its heritage. I am buying a 2006 XJ with only 77,000 miles on the clock in Black with leather ivory interior next month, only one owner, with full service history. My Dad and I are going halves on this and then we are going to keep it and sell it on as a classic in the next ten years. Can't wait to take delivery of the car.

      Jerry Cooper although I do love the new XJ’s, I agree with you. Those round, retro looking headlights and vehicle design is what made it a jag to me. They look like classic cars but modern made. I think that’s what makes them so sick and unique to me. These are by far my favorite jags ever. I’m going to buy one soon and I can’t wait

    overall great looking car. Owning a 03 x-type for five years and having driven 50k miles, I have the love and hate to jaguar. The look, the handling, how sturdy on freeways, uniqueness, I love it when I look at it from a distance. Daily driving it shows constant breakdown of one thing after another, from coolant leaking, engine overheating due to fan failure, check engine light due to oxygen sensors, minor accident hitting curb at 30 mph speed has caused to issues w tires due to tie rod bent, broken strut, car battery light caused by failed alternator, two years later, the refurbished alternator died on it. Broken lights, I have not fixed the top third break light ever since I had it. Top ceiling liner is falling down in the back seat area. Body paint fades on top, in rear trunk, one day parking on street, someone hit the front driver side door, it took me two years finding the exact color from a jag junk yard. Now the windshield has a crack of a few ft, I feel I may not be able to keep it up.
    Maybe it needs to be a Sunday car not a daily commuter.
    Maybe I will just keep driving it until it dies or I die.

    • @InternetDude
      @InternetDude  4 роки тому +1

      I hear ya man. Many Jags do tend to need more repairs and maintenance than a Toyota LOL. It sounds to me like an older car that needs some care. If you still like it keep it in good shape and it should last for many more years. Once a person starts to neglect repairs it does change the feel of the car. In the end my Jag was more trouble-free than my Teslas but I drove the Jag less.

    THAT IS SUCH A GORGEOUS CAR. I think that's my all-time favorite modern post 2000 luxury car, 2004-08 XJR. And the F-Type is one of my top favorite modern sports cars. I'll probably never afford an F-Type and therefore would be happy to settle o nan '04-6 XJR and set aside a substantial amount of money incase the supercharger would have to get redone or the air bag suspension or both as well as other repairs. I recently sold an '04 base XJ8 and am strongly considering an XJR because it may be more sought after on a collector market and it's a British muscle car that can still go 155 mph before a governor would actually cut it out, something the base should've been close to but couldn't because of some "big government". Anyway, if the genuine sports car (F-Type) is too expensive to obtain, then a high performance sedan (XJR) that can do somewhat close to what that true sports car can do is certainly a next best thing.

      Most of the higher priced Jags are good cars after 1995 or so. 97 and 98 were particularly good. 2004 was a good year. 2005 models were generally good, but the air ride systems were problematic, and expensive to repair.

      They are not!! Considering they are 20 years old mine (XJS,XJ6,S Type) they might all have annoying problems, but they always get you home, at the time we (UK) had the petrol crisis ($7.63 a gallon at the present) in London the XJ12 would struggle to get 5mpg, one of the main reasons these cars got the false label as unreliable when in fact they have been not looked after, the first thing to go is a proper service(they help predict future problems in the future), now as far as the new ones are concerned, they are not Jaguars any more, they look boring have way too much electronics, no class, and where did the beautiful lines go?(that's why I like the S Type its due to the MK2 lines unlike that thing the X Type (someone actually tried to compare the handling of a Subaru and X-Type 4×4 systems) One of the best Jaguars to get(especially with your climate, except Washington lol) is either the XJ6(easy to work on) series 3, or the newer XJ8 with the Jaguar 4.2 (JAG), the S Type R (400bhp)or update an old one like the Ian Callum, s MK2 at $350K or Panzani S Type, its such a shame the new ones don't shout out JAG, I just get a bit frustrated when people call a 20-year-old car unreliable and as far as the new ones are concerned, are they not just the same for that value of car, is a Merc reliable or the Range Rover, either way at the time Jaguar was and still is a fantastic brand, big heavy (2.5 tons) car that can go round corners with grace ,,ps No1 is at the back as I believe its original use was for a plane or was it a boat . Correct me if I am wrong. I would like a go in the new C-X75 but i bet its like most super cars I have driven they are as bumpy as a drive through Hades.... ..Callum-Jag-1_3023255b (Google it) ph-classic-prod-images.s3.amazonaws.com/nimg/38227/JaguarXJX350BG_04.jpg some nice pictures,,,
