      I just got mine late February sorry I would have used the link. Its amazing. It rides like a Lexus smooth. It’s not fast off the line my Lectic beats it easy but it’s really fast over a distance. Not in love with the thumb throttle but I mostly pedal. The smooth tires are quite and roll Fast. I need to bring mine to the bike shop for a tune

    Of course, I totally support having a professional assembly the bike. However, the cruiser model is one of the easiest models to assemble. It's always good to have it checked by a shop!

    I have 100% clarity that I am not a bike mechanic, but I love this video showing some quality tools that a bike mechanic should own. I do most of my own car repairs, so it is tempting to spend a few hundred on bike tools instead of bringing it in, but damn I don't want to hurt my baby ! My bike is much nicer then my car!

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  2 роки тому +1

      As a transitioning car to bike mechanic myself, I understand the struggle. I am just of the mindset to purchase the tools as I go. Starting out a good allen key set, and a small torque handle tool have helped me immensely. (Here is an affiliate link to the torque wrench we use: amzn.to/3Icq8T3 )

    By far one of the best unboxing and setup videos I have watched. I have watched dozen’s of videos so Your video helped me decide witch E-bike for my wife and I to purchase. Received my Cafe Cruiser XR in the Latte color last week. As someone who is 6’4” and 230lbs… this bike fits me very well. With the first two rides done, thrilled at how the bike rides and the feel while under power.

    • @mccannge
      @mccannge 2 роки тому +2

      Do you feel as though you have plenty of power for hills and such? Would you carry things on the rack?

    • @EbikeEscape

      Good to hear it fits someone well even taller. Thanks for watching!

  • @thisspotrules3631
    @thisspotrules3631 2 роки тому +2

    I think the bike needs an option on the rear rack. Too bulky. The Thule child seat does not use the foot pegs. Most buyers will not have a < 130lb buddy on the back at that price point! Should be a rack like the 700 has! And it would reduce the weight. Maybe R1U's future "click on rear basket" will justify? Also, don't like having the open holders on the chain stays if not installing the foot pegs. Looks unfinished and possible ankle biters!
    We are HB CA boardwalk riders and have been drooling over this Cafe (beach) Cruiser, it checks almost every box! These are our first impressions from the website only and not first hand.
    ps: no stem spacers included for taller riders? You mentioned something about using? Did you mean aftermarket?

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for sharing! My brother took this on a trip with two older kids so we'll see how he likes it. Unfortunately, a non-welded rack wouldn't meet his needs due to weight limitations. No stem spacers but an adjustable stem might be a nice add-on for this model. Thanks for watching!

    What a great tutorial video. Lots of detail and great tips. I need to check my spokes for tightness. Super job guys. Thank you very much. BTW, the Café Cruiser is on the top of my buy list. Lots of extra features and high quality for a reasonable price. Easier then normal assembly and it looks great too. I think it will be a great first E-bike. I'll use your link. Thanks again. Kim

    • @timhoag792
      @timhoag792 9 місяців тому

      I filed both sides of spacer, reinstalled and it was still chasing when tightened, I disassembled and filed the mounting seats on the caliper (which looked to be the worst uneven surface) and it reinstalled with no chasing and I was able to center dead on.

    This was a great video and shows that it’s great to have a bike mechanic put your bike together to ensure you’ll have a smooth running bike first couple of hundred miles then bring it back after it’s broken in to go through and retighten and adjust everything that may have gotten out of adjustment during the break in period.Fortunately for me I’ve learned over the years and do exactly this to my bikes.
