Alex Belfield’s “Hurty words”.
This is one of over 30 videos that Belfield posted about me.
It is a video from UA-cam channel originally posted on 6th May 2020, during the first national lockdown when I was shielding at my parents home in Cumbria.
It was the beginning of months of harassment, and further videos.
Although being convicted for stalking and settling a defamation claim with Jeremy Vine, Belfield still refuses to acknowledge the damage he causes to me.
Please help me to raise legal fees to claim compensation from ex BBC presenter Alex Belfield who harassed and stalked me, and then threatened “he’d be back”.

I am Philip Dehany and I need your help. I was a theatre blogger and am now a volunteer for the Terrence Higgins Trust.
I am one of the several victims who were harassed by former BBC presenter Alex Belfield, which led to him being jailed for five and a half years. After his trial concluded, but before he was sentenced, Belfield publicly revealed information about my HIV status. I am now claiming compensation from him in the civil courts, under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
Belfield’s awful campaign of harassment against me, (much of which was directed at my sexuality) continued even during and after his trial. He constantly published harassing videos about me and others, and made a lot of money from UA-cam advertising revenue and by asking for donations from his followers.
The impact upon me has been huge - my reputation has been seriously damaged and I lost my passion, confidence and ultimately my income as a theatre blogger. I am now seeking therapy.
I have already spent over £4,000 in legal fees and have to pay £1,500 more for the work which has been done to get me to this stage.
Unless Belfield agrees to settle with me, which seems very unlikely, I will have no choice but to issue court proceedings against him and my costs to take the matter all the way to trial could reach £100,000.

“Hurty words” since when did sticks and stones become not a thing? You’re becoming the thing you accuse him of. Grow up!!

Alex Belfield did far more than throw around “Hurty words”, he harassed and invaded my privacy and my family. Bombarded me with emails, tweets, messages, DMs. Found out where my parents lived, found out their phone number, rang my mum, recorded the conversation and blackmailed that he was going to play it on his UA-cam channel. He then tried to dig up things from my past to try and blackmail me with, and then revealed I was HIV+ in his videos.
If you think all that is just “sticks and stones” or you think it’s acceptable then you’re an idiot.
And he didn’t just did this to me and my family, there were 7 other victims who gave evidence against him, and dozens more who didn’t come forward because they were too scared and felt intimidated by him.
Belfield is a monster, and people like you who think his behaviour was acceptable are disgusting.

@@christophercleary6780yep! Unfortunately the advice I got from most people including the police at the start, was just to block and ignore. But then Belfield didn’t stop, starting making videos about my parents. Found out where they lived. Phoned my mum and blackmailed me. But yeah I could have just “switched off his channel” sure.

What are you talking about? Eight victims gave evidence in court, a judge and jury convicted him, and he even admitted that he lied and harassed Jeremy Vine. How are you possibly still defending him!
He's a knobend and a bent prawn at that. All that queer stuff he says is what he's actually upto when not on camera. Now he's doing some time he will be known by the inside slang term - he is currently called a _Batty Boi_ which means he's passed around by those doing serious time. Yup so many people out there today with mental health issues and they do not take any responsibility for it themselves just blaming everyone else, it is getting boring and extremely repetitive let´s hope they make a quick recovery, whatever timeline that is.
Totally agree. Before I moved house, I had a neighbour who would get high on drink & drugs and attack people. His defence was always 'I have mental health issues', and this always seemed to be a mitigating factor for his unruly behaviour.

Of course that’s how you saw it. It’s fake virtue signalling. He was building his defence all along. By telling his audience not to do something, he knew the idiots who follow him are like moths to flames who will actually do the opposite of what he’s saying. He can appear to say one thing but do another. It’s called manipulation. He knew exactly what he was doing. Telling people not to troll me, when he was the one who actually was trolling me. And it worked, cause you fell for it.

Thank you! You have no idea how much I needed to hear this. This has been so much harder than I ever imagined, and I haven’t felt very supported. It’s been really hard. For every five messages of support I get that make me feel great, it just takes one to knock me back down, so I’m just trying to get through it and remember what I set out to do, which was to protect other people from ever going through something like this.
