    Now this is Aikido walking the talk for R E A L.... Please upload more practical & honest videos on Aikido applications for either sports or real world scenario fights. We need to have more of these to eventually eliminate those " bullshido masters " plaguing the internet who are destroying and shaming the genuine martial art of Aikido & the most respected founder Morihei Ueshiba.

    Having done Shotokan karate for 10 years, dabbling in various Aikido styles (Yoshinkan, Aikikai, Tenshinkan) over the years, and some BJJ, this approach to techniques,and Aikido training, made me smile in appreciation. It's nice to see practical, applicable, real techniques against non-static, mobile, and somewhat resisting partners that have a very low learning curve. Great to see!

    Love seeing these techniques off real street punches. I'm a 3rd Dan in Jujutsu, I will definitely incorporate this technique. Thank you!

      It's not as easy as it looks. Remember, rotate in three dimensions: Pitch, yaw and roll in uke's direction. Grind your feet!!!

    There is an other very good lesson in the sensei words: "You don't have to have a response for everything". Thanks very very much!

    I purchased the series and I must say I am very encouraged by what I am seeing. I particularly liked this segment when i saw it on the paywall site. I also loved the double leg take down segment. It's been fun to watch, break down the moves and try to wrap my head around the full technique.

    I like the use of the clinch as an intermediate position of safety from which to proceed into applications; this is very practical and high percentage compared to other alternatives.

    You can also throw your own “jab” close the distance the same way and apply your lock/throw! Doesn’t have to be so “defensive “. Nice video!

    Great video. I truly enjoy the direction these videos are going. I know nothing about Aikido and I have no shame saying that and I only just started Judo but I respect Aikido, so I hope I can see more of this.

      There are occasionally MMA fights where 1 of the participants avoids a jab via head movement and then closes in to grapple.

      Boxers wind up in this exact position by using the Philly shell It happens by accident all the time. Mayweather and Sugar Ray Leonard do it regularly. It can also be done on a shoulder roll. It's just a movement into a clinch.

      @ФаготКоровьев-ц4б 4 роки тому

      The Physicality Channel но это если бы!😂
      В айкидо все если бы.

    • @shihonage
      @shihonage 4 роки тому

      @@ФаготКоровьев-ц4б Двойной захват ног это техника джиу джицу а не Айкидо. Она очень надёжная. Чёрных пояс джиу джитсу даже в его возрасте просто скромсает хулигана на маленькие кусочки. За этим поясом как минимум 10 лет спарринга/борьбы в партере. Он не безконтактник - он просто показывает не совсем реалистичные вещи когда он пытается связать Айкидо с ударами. Когда он связывает Айкидо с борьбой в партере, более реалистично получается.

    Catching punches in 2019... have we really not gone beyond this fantasy yet? To show me the error of my ways and my ignorance, please show us this technique against someone who really knows how to jab, is actually trying to hit you and is non-compliant.

      Watch the video.he used the clinch to slow down the attacker( which all MMA guys to ) to perform the arm lock

    • @imllendream
      @imllendream 3 роки тому +1

      Ursa Major, Dude, you are way obsessed looking at the old man rather than the important technique he shared that some Aikido practitioners out there do not teach coz they do not know. He was sharing us the method that connects Aikido application to our real world. Now, if you think you are still young and have such correct mindset, you must be able to move faster than he does - given a situation of course that you are interested to learn Aikido the real way and not the bullshido way.

    • @khaderalikhan3029
      @khaderalikhan3029 3 роки тому +1

      He was not trying to"catch punches." That would be crazy! Even traditional aikido guys do not tell you to "catch punches." You seem to have tunnel vision. Not see the details of the technique. As the other guy said he goes into a clinch to slow down the attack which all MMA fighters do which then transitions into an aikido technique. Aikido techniques are very effective. Its only the entry into the technique that has given the art a bad rep.
