- The Ancient Sheikah of Hyrule are responsible for creating the deadliest technology known to the lands. Although their weapons are typically used destructively against the player, can we turn the tides by beating this game using only ancient armor and weaponry ~ and slaughter all of the guardians to become the ruler of them all? I hope you all enjoy this themed run!! :D

I find it hard to believe that they lost the war 100 years ago yet it's not hard at all to beat the divine beasts and even ganon.
Like, you wanna tell me some fast electric dude beat Urbosa? Mipha got whooped by some dude with ice blocks? Daruk got bodied by some guy who succs air and burns? Come on now.

They can’t flurry rush, or slow down time at all… etc. link is overall a tiny killing machine, the death of the champions is pretty believable if you keep in mind Link is supposed to be a badass little quiet man who can and will whoop your ass
I believe Robbie didn't reverse engineer sheikah tech until after the calamity had occurred.

There's also the fact that Link is a master of all trades, while the champions were specialists with massive weaknesses that could be exploited, Link can quickly adapt and counter anything the blight ganons threw at him while the champions were screwed in the same situation.

I know some people think botw is obsolete thanks to tears of the Kingdom, but you can't have link spin a laser chainsaw in tears of the kingdom

I'm happy they kept a lot of things exclusive to Breath of the Wild like that
If you get the upgraded version of stasis, it will allow you to freeze enemies, but it also allows them to be highlighted when it is active, so if your in a field of guardians, and don't know which one is alive, the rune will highlight the living enemies.
The camera does the same thing :)
You can also lock on to it from a decent distance away, making that a good way too
Also if you have the champions tunic then it does it too. I found that out from the guardian area in the akkala labyrinth
@@KrispyKalamari you have to specifically point at whatever you wanna look at, the stasis rune will show you almost anything all across the screen you can interact with
I do this all the time to avoid breaking my 8 hylian shields

It’s much easier when you have ancient tech from the future-past by your side

This is like the zelda equivalent of a dragon type pokemon nuzlocke. Start out super weak and then basically crush everything in your way

That first shield needs a chiropractor with all the work it did carrying the run in the early game. This was really interesting to watch.

I've always liked the look of Rito weapons, and it'll be interesting to see how you deal with there only being three Rito shields!

I once got two ancient cores AND one giant ancient core from one guardian. I was pretty damn happy that day.

@Spamton G spamton Actually you could get up to 12 giant ancient cores. The amount of items The Guardian drops upon death is the amount of items a giant ancient court can be.
My headcanon for stuff like this is that who or whatever made them accidentally dropped extra cores in guardians
Wait when you don’t get a core from them how are they operational?
I mean that's the whole reason Robbie spent his whole life researching this gear set. The calamity is easy to take down with it

I always loved how the Ancient armor and gear looked, and when I obtained all of it from the lab I went around as a vigilante calling myself “The Guardian”. I would basically just assassinate large groups of enemies or lynels.

@Oliver Brylowski buddy, it takes a lot of time but it really comes down to dodging and countering
@@seanmortell2879 yeah, they're tough in terms of major health and very punishing, brutal attacks but once you get the timing for parries and flurry rushes, it isn't as much of a challenge. even gold lynels aren't too bad once you learn the timing!
I love this, sometimes I do similar stuff like one time I became a knight with the soldier armour and diamond circlet and I just killed random enemies I found and defended travelers
This inspired me to do something similar,I run around with the phantom armor,call myself “the phantom” and save people throughout hyrule and take out enemy camps
The master cycle counts as ancient tech trust me I ran past to many npcs telling me “is that ancient tech” to many times

@@Croton How about a goron challenge next? The weapons allowed are as following, iron sledgehammer, cobble crusher, stone smasher, boulder breaker, drillshaft. The bows allowed a wooden bow only when a bow is required, and the bow of light for dark beast ganon. The shields allowed are a wooden shield only for divine beast vah naboris. The armor allowed is the flamebreaker boots, flame- breaker armor, flamebreaker helm, and forced mandatory armor, this could be an interesting challenge.

Some advice, When you chop guardian legs be sure to collect the drops from the legs before you kill it altogether. I found that it only renders ~10, and if you have too many parts on the screen, it'll occlude and unload the prior from game memory. I've lost out on maximizing my drops by not doing that prior. Same goes for multiple guardians simultaneously. I killed the two near tarrey town in Akkala before picking up the parts concurrently, and noticed some of my loot drop had magically disappeared :(

I have a silly idea for another run like this: non weapons only run.
Can only use weapons and shields that weren’t intended to be used as weapons (like spoons and pitchforks and pot lids)

I want to see a chests-only run. So the dlc armors(they are found in chests), enemy drops(none of the weapons or arrows), and the seemingly hundreds of chests scattered across Hyrule.

chest spawned weapons dont respawn so that would be a limited supply of weaponry to plan around too.

Yeah, I didn't either. Once I learned the blademasters, can one shot you no matter your health (only with their actual sword not the beam and only in the hideout) I figured you had to sneak through, but then I learned you can actually kill them if you can avoid getting hit and I didn't bother sneaking anymore I just abused shock and ice or very powerful weapons
i immediately got spotted the first time and i already got like electric greatsword or whatever and i just keep stunt him and slay it with ancient axe until he died
Dude, watching this was a blast! I think the best part was just watching how much fun you were having. Seeing you charge in and absolutely SEND those guardians into another dimension was immensely satisfying!

Thank you so much. I farm guardians for ancient loot, and I had a hard time finding lots of guardians, but because of you, I don't need to do that anymore. Also, it makes you realise how many guardians are in central hyrule, not including the other versions.

I assumed he was up until the desert. Making an exception for arrows is kind of cheating.
@@FrothingFanboy more like a technicality. Aside from the ancient arrow made to counter the guardians specifically - even though thats only its current purpose - the fire, ice, shock and bomb arrows are not magic based whatsoever. I'd still consider them ancient technology even if they're not tailor made to do more damage to guardians In particular.
@@FrothingFanboy You could consider them required items like the torch was and the Zora armor. Shock arrows, Bomb arrows, and normal arrows are all needed at certain parts for the Divine Beasts.
There is another reason they could've been allowed. In other challenges, like the Gerudo one, there are no "Gerudo arrows" so Croton could use any type of arrow. So why can't he use any type of arrow this time?

It's possible but it would be hell. Most of the run would just be him using bombs till Master Sword. Since you have to kill enemies

I just did this challenge after seeing this video. I recommend it. It is really grindy but once you get the armor to level 2….

It's a given that you can beat the game with only ancient gear. The question should be "how many times will I have to die acquiring the ancient gear? Once you have the complete ancient armor set, it's easy to grind guardians for parts to upgrade the armor, sell extras for rupees or buy more ancient equipment; and if you have fully upgraded ancient armor, all enemies are like the buzzing of flies.

Might I suggest the hylian armor, soldiers armor, soldiers weapons, or royal weapons. I think it would be cool, ya know, a soldier or hylian ranger (the hylian armor and royal weapons) taking on Ganon and avenging the fallen soldiers
This is a really cool challenge run! Reminds me a lot of games like Metroid and Kid Icarus where the game is really hard at the start but gets really easy by the end. I know BOTW is already kinda like that but this is taking it to the extreme.

It actually makes the game easier because you’re really only required to fight guardians and they’re weak to Ancient Weapons
But you have to get the weapons first

Master Mode is more fun. Better loot, and it feels like it actually matters any time you pick a fight.
Basically the higher the stakes, the higher the potential rewards. The more you have to improvise because not all fights are worth using weapons for. And the more aggressive you have to be since they will heal if you just play defensive all the time.
It takes too long to farm giant ancient cores in normal mode.
I love how Croton is so friendly, even when he dies in the game and stuff

seeing all the bombbtactics reminds me when I first played and I used bombs almost exclusively because I was so worried about weapons breaking
Basically, it has the hardest start but the most rewarding pay-off.

Ya know... they make such a deal about lightning in the desert but its one of the few places in the game you can never get struck by normal lightning. You would think weather would be perma lightning in parts of the region til the devil beast is dealt with.
Permanent lightning would be hell

The best place to get arrows is the path leading up to Zora's domain. All the enemies and crates there drop a lot of arrows and shock arrows

Other than bow and arrows, I regularly farm one of the major trials of power, thunderblade electric trap on the ground, besides the master sword my weapons are all plus 2 guardian sword,battleaxe and spear, then I do the same at the other major power trial with the same trick, +2 sword battleaxe & shield. I use em while MS is on cooldown. I dont handle the thundersword, strictly use it for traps to refill ancient weapons

You should do this again but withca new rule. Get the Master Cycle Zero since its technically a guardian type item
