Outstanding Berigan Orchestra performances at the Manhattan Center!! I wish all these Saturday Night Swing Club recordings could be reissued on CD using the best and latest Protools, Capstan and denoising software!

The announcer opens up giving the wrong tite:its "Ay,Ay,Ay" as recorded by Berigan on 28 Nov 1939.I've always wondered who did the original arrangement of that.
That's interesting. He also sang with Berigan's last band between 1941 and '42.I've got a battered ELITE 78 of Berigan's "Skylark" with a Richards vocal. He was also a trombonist.
Великолепный оркестр. К сожалению современные бенды в подмётки не годятся великим оркестрам 30-40-х годов.Джаз закончился с появленем Би-бопа и прочим выкрутасам Паркера с Гилеспи.г
Grande Bunny
"Ay Ay Ay" was also Bunny's final recording for Victor, on November 28, 1939.
He was the best of the best Rip!
A fantastic broadcast set! Bunny plays wonderfully, as always!

BB invented Rock n Roll and never knew about it. As evidenced in "Little Gate Special". This is where he departed from swing and into ROCK babies!
How sad that Alcohol ended his brilliant career he was among the best!
That is so true. I think Bunny was on his way to inventing Rock and Roll. I'm serious.
Agree. And it could be the alcohol fueled his success. I know a lot of us are more creative when we’ve had a few drinks.
That caravan cover is TASTY
Berigan always had a sentimental touch on his trumpet
Bunny!!!
Great broadcast!
Bunny was a "real gone cat"!!
Fantastic!!!!!! Thank you!!!!

Radio was king in 1939.
So was Bunny!
Danny Richards from Scranton PA ended up selling mens suits lived aroun the corner from me

played with freddy bistoccis band later on on the trombone
He was a great singer.Too bad he didn't go on to bigger and better things. Its funny he never recorded with Berigan when Bunny was at Victor.
Dan VanLandingham Richards made a single recording with Bunny during his last Victor recording session
I love this! Near the end of this broadcast, is that Bunny saying "Hey! Come up here." Anyone know?

I don't think the singers are up to the high standard of the Bunny's orchestra
Thank you thank you, thank you very much.
