I really enjoyed this video. About 15 years ago, I used tape to lift my jowls. I used it day and night if I was leaving the house. At that time, I was usually out. Case in point, it stretched my skin and eventually made it so much worse, very saggy! I have repurchased tape for the same area, and so far, I have not used it. But, if an occasion calls for it, I will......just never, ever again ,continually! Big mistake.
Funny, cause face tape was used for decades by actresses and actors before botox. Nothing new here but Tik tok acts like it discovered something new. 😂. U r terrific Dr. Love ur vids and ur integrity. ☮️
I’m nominating you for a Nobel prize award for being the best real plastic surgeon doctor that is really helping people informing them of many options out there Doc🤗😻🥰😻
I've been taping my 11 lines for years now and love it. I scrunch my face really bad when I sleep and tape prevents it. It also feels good to release that tension. Yes, those muscles do begin to work close together during the day but I can only imagine what it'd look like if I didn't tape at night. I use kinesiology tape but previously used 3m Transpore tape. I have not slept in years without it
This is going to sound crazy but hear me out. I find that when I’m clenching my jaw or making facial signs of stress during sleep (like furrowing the brow), doing herbal parasite cleanses and taking probiotics to rebalance my gut microbiome is very helpful. Also eating less sugar. Humans used to take castor oil and other antiparasitics at least once a year and that’s something we don’t really do anymore. We deworm our pets and livestock but we don’t do it to ourselves. We really should, considering that our food is often fertilized with manure. 😂 Pretty much everyone has some parasite or fungal overgrowth. So many people have mood and stress problems that are caused by fungal overgrowth. The gut flora have far more control over us, our cravings and our behaviors than we realize. If you like geeking out on microbiology, look into toxoplasma gondii’s association with an increase in risk taking behavior.
For 20 years, I have been using scotch tape under my eyes, and on my frown lines on my forehead, before bed. Wrinkles are gone or substantially reduced in the morning, so I know that it is at least preventing sleep damage. I buy the value pack at Costco for 20 bucks and it lasts for over two years…including using it as a household tape. It’s essentially free compared to alternatives !😅 TIPS: Make sure that the your skin is freshly cleansed and moisturized. Cut about an inch to two inches of tape. For under eye taping…Run the tape under warm water for a few seconds while rubbing the top layer of adhesive off, (makes removing it much easier). The tape will curl a bit but that’s ok. I like to remove excess water on the back of my dry hand. When placing it under the eyes, look upwards to allow skin to relax in a neutral position. Because the tape has been weekend a bit by the water, you will be able to reposition if necessary. I suggest not getting too close to the lash area, because it can become uncomfortable when sleeping. Once the tape is in the correct position, press more firmly against the tape to secure. For puffy eyes or for more support, just add more layers on top of the already placed tape. You will get the hang of it as you do it more. I don’t use water when taping my forehead skin because it is much thicker than the under eye area. In the morning, I run warm water all over my face with a little bit of cleanser, and the tape virtually falls off eventually around my eyes with very little pull… if any. Look in the mirror, you won’t believe your eyes!
In 2016 I started putting blue painters tape on my eleven lines starting to form at age 55. They went away, and I have continued every night since! Now at nearly 62 I also use it across my entire forehead overnight only. (I tape my mouth to sleep with it also, and extend it to stabilize my lower face to the sides). I like the (cheap!) painters tape over medical tape because it is much easier to remove and more firm, even than the silicone face patches (which admittedly are less scary to a bed partner, lol). I always put a heavy amount of lip balm on, and my other night topicals, even moisturizers, blotted, don’t make the tape come off if pressed firmly. Severe sweating does, so I sleep as cool as possible. I have no 11 lines, and really feel that the training the muscles receive overnight lessens their habitual use during the day. I have had less luck with crows feet, and am now using Xeomin there and look forward to a chemical peel. Taking hyaluronic acid internally has helped a lot, and prevents joint pain. I avoid sugar and eat a clean keto diet and many vitamins and fish oils. I found this video very informative, articulate and balanced. Much appreciated! I might try the temporary tapes for family photos or special zoom calls. Much luck to you all!
Mouth taping works very well for preventing snoring and improving sleep breathing. I use either nose strips or insertable nasal openers to improve my sleep airflow and it has improved the quality of my life so that I wake up refreshed and don’t require a sleep apnea machine. I “open my nose and close my mouth to sleep”. Look up mouth taping to see benefits.
@@relaxation-Corner Welp, I'd bet you're exposed to many chemicals in all the products you use. I don't think once in a while on a special occasion would hurt.
I bought those tapes with the rubber bands and hooks years ago. Yes, they really work. Funny, but embarrassing story: I recently had a 40 year class reunion and used the tapes in front of my ears. My long hair was down. Face looked terrific! Problem is, the event was outside and I didn't anticipate such a windy day. I frantically tried to hang on to my hair, but it was no use. I had to turn around and discreetly pull those things off my face. Oh, well. In any event, I would only use them for special occasions because I think the constant pulling of the skin would actually cause laxity. But they do work...
Thank You that is a funny story! One time I tried those magnetic false eyelashes and turned around too quickly and one of them fell off when I was grocery shopping; I needed to remove the other right away too lol
Frownies or Smoothies definitely work for the double lines between eyes. Its just a slightly uncomfortable to use overnight but it definitely works temporarily. I saw someone showing their results over consistent longer term use for this and it was impressive!
The only issue with frownies is you have to get the placement and pressure during application just right. Or you can end up accidentally accentuating the 11’s without realizing it. That’s a bummer when you remove in the am and you’re like “Nooooo!! Damnit!!” 😂 But yeah, they’re good. I do wonder about elasticity in the long term though. I wish anyone would’ve mentioned learning to sleep on my back when I was younger. Would’ve saved me so much money!
I think you are one of the kindest souls who covers this topic. I wish you were in Michigan. I would save up every penny i had just to have you help me. Your personality jumps through the screen and you always seem like you truly care.
I sleep with Kinesiology tape every night and it reduces wrinkles. I also tape the middle frown line during the day so I don't frown while working from home. My favourite are silicone patches though. Silicone patches seem to be the best for reducing wrinkles though because they plump out your skin so much.
Is there a specific brand of silicone patches that you recommend? I've tried medical tape but if you don't get the tape just right it can make the lines/wrinkles worse. As well as it created more lines from the edges of the tape! 🙏💕
I tried some KT a few months ago. Also tried silicone tape. I found the silicone tape worked better on wrinkles and the KT better to pull the skin taut. I stopped both though. Here's why: The silicone needed to be used on bare skin, but I use retinol at night and sunscreen in the day and just didn't have a couple spare hours a day to mess with the tape to smooth out wrinkles. I found it better to use a combo of argireline and red light therapy to simply reduce/eliminate the wrinkles and expression lines. My 11s are not free of expression lines, and there are very little elsewhere on my face. I also found that the KT taut effect had an opposite effect not only while removing the tape, but afterward. Talk about building dependency! The more you use it, the laxer your face gets without it! Just taking it off pulled my skin so much that I looked worse than had I not put it on at all. Pass. Ultimately I've found that truly building up the structure of my face and taking good care of my skin is the better approach for me.
I use cica tape at night over all my serums and cream and my tape stays on. I also use the blue medical tape on my forehead and it stays on as well. I don't stretch my skin, just trying to keep any new lines from forming and keeping any smile lines from getting Amy deeper as long as I can.
How much i enjoy Dr. Rajani!!! He is truelly the best among all doctors here on youtube - his videos are full of compassion and common sense. I really hope he has all the luck and happiness in the world😊
Im not sure this would be great for us singletons, i already go to bed with retainers on my teeth, a glowing face from multiple lotions and potions, i sometimes put ear buds in for quietness, adding tape to my face will for sure scare anyone away 😂
I have used face lift tape and it had a nice effect. I have used "frownies" on the wrinkle between the eyes overnight. It works for a few hours the next day. I have cut up duck tape into pieces to use under my eyes. That works pretty well. So it's something I do sometimes. I've done Jerssner's and TCA peels also. I like the results of all these techniques. None of these things have injured me or cost a lot of money. I've also done facial exercise. I really feel the number one thing people should do is a diet that eliminates all processed food.
Jeanie Cooper on The Young and the Restless included her use of facelifting tape in her facelifting plot. It was shocking to see how stretched her skin was when she loosened the face lift strings. Her actual facelift was aired on the show. She was a brave lady, wonderful actress and lovely lady.
Those work fabulous on the neck too( but regular 3mm clear medical tape is best for the neck )clean the skin with alcohol and apply - it stays for hours and are great if you are going to an event( unless it’s super hot and humid) ❤
I became afraid of the tapes making my skin sag more! I originally bought the tape in order to try to recreate the effect to see how helpful a lower face/neck lift would be for me, bc I am ready and in need of the surgery IMO. So, I went out with them in place bc *WoW* and literally EVERY one of my friends came up and whispered “you got your surgery already?!??” LOL. I started using them for odd occasions when going out in public for a few hours to socialize etc. They are so good! I’m aware, however, that I’m probably going to make everything worse so I’m going to book the surgery and get it over with. These tapes are my amazing little “cheat code” in the meantime…
I agree. Can’t afford a facelift right now, so it’s my go to. If it stretches my skin, it makes sense, however, I would rather take that chance. Makes me feel better about myself. Everyday.
Slight aside here, but on topic: I invested in a pillow for side-sleeping HUGE HELP and nearly immediate results. Sleep and Glow pillow with silk case. very happy with it!
Yeah it's great for woman my age in their 70's. That can't afford a face lift. They are amazing. For a family gathering etc. As they are taking pics. Made a difference to my family pics. Lifted all my old wrinkles for moments needed. I'm wrapped.
I used to use the silicone scar tape to stop my frowning and wrinkles at night, and it did work - no stretching or pulling. But i turned into someone that sleeps very poorly due to pain so constant tossing and turning with smooshing my face into my pillow. When i did that with the tape on, it created DEEP wrinkles that would take all day to go away - so its really great to use if you can sleep on your back, not so much if a side sleeper. Great stuff, that silicone tape though.
Forcing myself to sleep on my back has helped tremendously! I actually sleep with my glasses on, so if I turn to my side, it instantly reminds me to sleep on my back. I’m 56 and have no chest wrinkles either
Doc, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you! I just watched a video from another surgeon who never fails to leave everyone feeling as if a facelift is the only way.. and HIS facelift no less 🙄 I literally came to your channel bc I knew I'd find plenty of content giving me hope lol. Thank you ❤
I know exactly which UA-cam surgeon you are referring to and he pisses me off. Just constantly tells everyone they need a facelift, even if they are 35 and says there are no alternatives!
@tiahardy3987 being a facelift surgeon and collecting 74k plus a pop means you are courting either the elite or the unsuspecting. A facelift does not make skin better, it does not add volume to the face ( fat grafting is imprecise), it does not get rid of brown spots, it does not get rid of red spots, lip lines, eye hollows etc. It does remove loose skin and it does lift the fat pads.
@@rajanimdskincare @rajanimdskincare this is why I am so glad that I finally found your channel! You have given me lots of skincare options to make my appearance better, that are much less extreme than a facelift (I am only 35 and have no skin laxity yet).
I would say that using the face tape is for special occasions or when you know you're going to be photographed. Not every day. It does slightly stretch the skin, so, that is why I wouldn't use it every day. Definitely DO NOT keep it on when you sleep. I hope this answered your question.
The elastic tape is for special occasions, it makes you look great. Kinsiology tape I've been using FOREVER. No one believes I'm anywhere near my 60s. 40 maybe. USE IT! As long as you're not allergic to the glue. There are some diyers that help on youtube on placement. Drs and others are getting many diyers youtube videos DOWN! WHY? Because THEY want your money? Because GOD forbid you should know MORE than them? I truly do not know why. They are taping their own journies and personally, i think its unconstitutional, because youtube IS taking their videos down! Based on their journey? So ridiculous! I'm glad they are on other video platforms!! I have seen miraculous diyers get so much better results in soo many areas to their own skin, and why not? They study anatomy and know just as much as these drs. In fact, I have seen many drs. CHANGE their SPECIALTIES ex: from pediatrics to cosmetic surgery and injecting fillers and botox because of it's monetary value. It's is straight out of pocket (no insurance necessary!) They make so much more money then most drs. Recently my GYN changed from his 25+ year practice to fillers and botox injecting. I'd rather listen to the diyers then most of these drs who put the diyers down. They know their anatomy and I KNOW some have been doing this a LOT longer. I'm not saying this about this Dr., but he shouldn't go by just a few studies and then say "don't do it." Kinseology tape does work and it hasn't harmed anyone, unless you are allergic to the glue. So my advice is like many, do your research and I love Kinseology tape! It's helped me "age gracefully" and I look and feel wonderful for having studied and used it. A miracle for me!
Thank you. I love how you truly, sooner or later, cover all subjects. I asked so many you tubers about face tape but never got a clear answer. I recently found you and honestly I was just about to pose this same question here, what a coincidence. Anyway, I started using face tape for my jowls to prevent movement during the night. I started breaking out in little bumps right in those areas and so I stopped but started again several times, but the same outcome. I will probably continue using it only for my frown lines because that area is sturdy and I have a tendency to frown a lot. But now I have more reasons and motivation to finally stop. Can’t thank you enough.
I used FROWNIES when they were the origional product. New owner made them thinner. Only used overnight. Very good for '11's frown lines. I now use the ones made of scar treatment silicone(?) Amazing temp effect on smoker's lines. Medical ones made my carotid scar invisible on my neck.
@@wenzelaj Sio is the silicone one i found a few years ago. There are others since then. It just takes getting in the habit to use them. The skin plumps bc its covered overnite. Just follow instructions completely.
yes i've used the face tape to reduce nasolabial folds, it did work but then it made my eye hollows stand out more, I was having dinner and the tape snapped off, ran to the bathroom, lol. My mother had deep chemical peels starting in her 50's she 90 now and her skin still looks great, with very few wrinkles just sag. She gets a lighter peel now due to her age.. I see celebs like Madonna use the hair braid trick. braid pulls face back like tape.
I decided against Botox and has been tapping my frown for a decade with a resilient tape from our broadcast studios during the night. It really makes a difference, but you HAVE to do it every night, especially now I'm in my sixties. If I skip a night or two, I already lose the effect.
OMG !! You are totally updated!! I watch a lot good UA-camr but no one had talked so clear and honest like you!!! I already use the kit tape therapy combined with face self massage before go to the bed . Only take the tapes off when I’m out the house in the morning. But leasing from a doctor it’s gets better!! Bravo 👏 and thank you so much 😊
I have a long time friend who had a nose job ,and I am sorry to say she had a very bad plastic surgeon! I think she looked much better before the surgery! I have told her about your channel Dr., but I will text her and encourage her to watch this video! Thanks, as always!
My sister had a nose job. She used to look identical to Linda Evangalista. Her exact twin, nose and all. Anyways. She got a nose job and got Michael Jackson's nose. His last nose. It's SO weird! So picture Linda with Michael's nose. That's my sister now.
I used some at night while in sleep on middle of my forehead and it does help I used medical clear tape.I saw it on a video from this UA-cam that she does face masks and has an excellent skin she is older and she encourages it! I do see some difference!
some say it is bad because it doesn't stop your muscles from contracting and the Frownies basically provide resistance and allow those muscles to get stronger and bigger overtime :(, have you not experienced this personally? like you don't notice your forehead muscles getting bigger?
@@lizabetx483 ya it will probably take longer, but it will be fine if you naturally react to the resistance by "giving up" and not frowning, but if you react instead by frowning harder then it will not be good :(
Lol when I put my wig on or get braids done my face does this. Also eat foods with high vitamin e. Salmon is so good for you and cures a lot of health issues.
I personally believe like I learned in physical education class that doing something (such as tape) is better than doing nothing,Dr. Rajani .I believe this applies to skincare also although it may be temporary.
Did anyone see the scene with Jane Fonda in Grace & Frankie where she was using and removing these tapes? It was noticeable, effective and eye-opening.
I have tried kinesiology tape....it works WONDERS.....for about 1 hour and then your face goes back to normal again. Definitely can not be compared to botox
I have no issue with using injectables, skincare products, and various techniques to maintain a youthful appearance. However, when it comes to the new trend of face taping, I personally find it unappealing. While it may give the illusion of a facelift by pulling and lifting the skin, I don't see any real benefits in using this method. In fact, there are several drawbacks to consider. Firstly, what happens when you remove the tape or if your face becomes too oily? The temporary results achieved through face taping are short-lived and can easily be disrupted. It's similar to the idea of fillers, which merely fill in lost volume but don't actually rebuild collagen unlike treatments like Sculptra (although I think you mentioned that the treatment Sculptra is not as good as the new kid on the block Platelet Rich Fibrin since it is old tech so to speak), etc, which stimulate collagen production for more long-term results at least from what I have heard, feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Secondly, there's the issue of pulling the skin. Countless UA-cam videos warn against pulling the skin because it can lead to sagging and other negative effects. It's clear that repeatedly pulling and tugging on the skin is not a healthy practice. Another concern is that face taping may interfere with the skin's natural ability to breathe. This could potentially result in breakouts and other skin problems. It's important to prioritize the health of our skin, and blocking its ability to function properly is not a step in the right direction. Lastly, there's the potential for embarrassment if the tape were to come off or snap during a social event like a school reunion or a conference. I see face taping as similar to wearing a suit that creates the illusion of having six-pack abs underneath your shirt. While it may offer a temporary enhancement, it lacks any real benefits and can be easily exposed. Overall, I believe face taping falls short in delivering significant improvements to one's appearance, maybe one can use it at night so that they don't crunch their face, chest, etc (but then again the oil from their creams will likely cause the tape to not stick so they may have to go without their skin care creams, I rather use my retinols, etc than use a tape that can give me skin problems like acne, etc) or during a photo shoot but that about it in my opinion. However, great video though.
Near to 6 months every morning when l woke up, l hate my face, there are some lines around my lips ( smile lines) which was sooooo deep. It goes a bit fade about 2 hours after wake up so it made me to cry and hate of this lines. I heard about Tape so l have started to use usual first aid Tape on it during the night dream. Ohhhhhh my god, you can’t believe from the first day the deep lines get lighter and lighter. Now after two weeks l don’t have this lines after l wake up or during of the day on my natural face, just this lines coming back to you through the laughing time 😅 which is ok and are parts of face. Tip: l never stretch this tape too much, just a bit. Don’t listen to anyone, Dr makes business for themselves because of that they prevent you. I really recommend you to do Botox on areas which you can unless like mine that really the treatment is difficult like filler or so on. Enjoy your light stretching tape during night and release of your deep lines during the day❤
No, they are like craft papers and there’s food grade glue under that you wet with water, it’s kind of like stamps that you wet to stick on envelopes. You remove them with water so you don’t stretch the skin, as opposed to face tape. Honnestly, I’m super expressive and I wished I had started when I was younger so I would have trained to stop raising my eyebrows as much, it would have saved my forehead.
It depends. If you do that to pull the skin taut over time it will cause sagging and more wrinkles but if you place it directly above the wrinkle it will help keep it from getting deeper
I do like Frownies and smoothies overnight. I frown in my sleep and wake up with deep lines in the morning. Since I started using these religiously I see a big difference. At night I can’t control my facial expressions like I can during the day. I’d like to use dysport/ Botox too but I’m scared of the dangers in the 11’s area.
Im 44 and have amazing skin, thanks to genetics and slugging with Vaseline at night(before it became viral in the generation) I am starting to see fine lines on my forehead from always squinting.I will have to try this
Another face lift hack that I'm sure I posted on another one of your videos: Those '80's banana clips. Just pull your hair back with the teeth, focusing at the temple area and close into a ponytail. The hard plastic banana clips with plastic teeth (Scunci brand) work better than the "rubberized" ones. But again, I would not do that habitually.
Yes I use these they work really well, but they do get uncomfortable after a while. For now I prefer these to a lot of the tapes I see available because they are just so poorly made and don't last long. My band and banana clips are still going strong after months of use, but I only use them for special occasions never daily.
I've been using a triangle of kinesiology tape between my brows (for 11 lines) for about 2 years now. In the morning my skin is perfectly smooth. On the nights I forget I have wrinkles there in the morning, so it's more like a support to stop you squashing your face while you sleep. These lines come back as I am using my face muscles during the day, but they are significantly less prominent than other people my age
Omg I love that doc did this! I just saw a vid on this on tik tok the other day n I did it last night! N no the taping that I saw was applying castor oil n frankincense mixture all over face n then using using nex care tape n put that over the oil on the expression lines etc. well I can tell u from this morning n wow! 🤯 it’s pretty cool! As far as the pulling tape? So many females say it won’t stay stuck all day. I have read the comments on those n they are horrible. Wish that truly worked! Not all of us can afford a lower face lift!
As always, great information doctor. I have tried frownies facial patches, but at the end of the day, my 11 lines were back. I am now trying micro-needling patches for my 11 lines.
Ugh. I have the 11’s from sleeping on my face for several years. The muscle memory is so strong. That botox nor filler can overpower them. I wish I would’ve known how terrible that is for your aging long term. Not one person mentioned it back then. My 11’s are so resistant to botox that the surrounding muscles transitioned into 11:11’s after awhile. The filler only lasted a month. I still get Botox. But it’s depressing to spend so much money. Just to look like you aren’t doing anything. I don’t even have lines. It’s the muscle memory that does it. So interesting. I also did micro needling monthly in that area for almost a year. To try to rebuild the collagen. Nothing helped.
As I do my face massages yes it does work it works enough to keep your face stimulated and not stiff and bulged idk if that makes sense but trust me it works so if anyone is reading this yes massage your face but be nice and gentle and light don’t be rough. Also use a oil or moisturizer while you massage your face so you won’t tug at your skin
I personally love a variation on face taping: I buy Frownies! (Google the name 🧐) they’re simple pieces of brown craft paper with food grade glue, similar to licking envelopes. You can use them at night to smooth out different part of your face. I started using them to help with migraines and tension headaches - and never looked back! The idea is to wear them for several hours to train the muscles into relaxing, I wear a triangle piece between my browns every night. Not only does it work with the head pain, I don’t have any frown lines between my brows! Love the stuff. 🤔🙌🏻
Waterproof first aid tape on the 11's and nasolabial folds at night. I've been doing it for 20 years. People regularly clock me at 10-15 years younger than I am.
Dr. Rajani, you are a national treasure!!! I have learned so much from you and changed my aesthetic procedures, skincare, and I'm now a SPF 50 user, plus hats and sunbrella kind of lady. Bougie? Who cares! I wanted to give you my thoughts on neck lift tape: I bought it, put it on correctly, and the results were AMAZING! Almost all of my treatments have been face focused, Nova threads, retinoids, etc. The Nova threads really helped my neck, but at 45, there was a disparity between my face, which looks very young, and my neck, which looks 45. Loved them, but I think continual use would stretch the skin on my neck, eventually worsening the problem. They are great for a night out. They are great to get an idea of what a neck lift would look like. I liked them so much, I'm saving for a deep plane face and neck lift. Until then, these are great for a special occasion, photos, etc. I wish I could send you a before and after pic, but the difference is shocking. Like most things, you get what you pay for. The neck tape is $20 and it's good for 1 evening, one event. I would tell anyone to give it try, just like you'd test drive a car. You really like it? Well, you need to buy it, not rent it. If you have longer hair, it's totally invisible. And your going to feel sad when you take it off and see what it's really going on😦
Thank you for providing all the data so one can think with all aspects of taping. Each person is different and their skin may react differently. I will say that K tape has been very helpful with small knee or back injuries (strains and pulls) and every time it has sped up the healing process and prevented further injuries.
I've taped my neck, just with tape for around 10 years. Starting at one side on the back of my neck, pulling slightly to the other side where I pull the skin in till the front of my neck looks nice and then I tape. It's 3m micropore breathable tape for daytime.
One word of caution, botox stops your muscles from contracting, face tape doesn't stop your muscles from contracting, instead it provides resistance, if you continue to contract your muscles and end up contracting harder due to the resistance of face tape then the muscles that are doing things you don't like like frowning will become stronger and bigger over time, however if you are able to not contract harder due to the resistance then yes it would be a positive thing, so it depends on the wearer. so be careful everyone.
Actually it does help you muscles from contracting when you have it in. It relaxes the muscle over time as well. I work from home and use them in the day time. I also wear a sun protection sun had outside and literally wear the tape on my forehead under the hat!
@@dawnspears1752 tape itself does not stop your muscles from contracting, it simply provides resistance, like i said it depends on the wearer, for some if they face the resistance they will "give up" and relax the muscle, but for some when they face the resistance they will frown "harder" against the resistance instead, overtime these muscles will become stronger and bigger and make your frowns and what not stronger, so it depends on the person
@@mippim8765 what study? it is common sense lol. muscles going against resistance becomes stronger and bigger, basic biology. so it depends if you end up pushing stronger against it or can actually relax instead when faced with resistance. a lot of doctors on youtube or blogs recommend against Frownies for this reason. even when i wear UV blocking headbands out in the sun i noticed how my muscles naturally try to push against it and frown, so i had to consciously relax it and not frown. so if i sleep with the headband that is pushing against me from frowning i will most likely frown harder when i sleep just like i do when awake, but when im awake i can consciously force myself to not do that.
@@mippim8765 i recommend trying the tapes or frownies when you are awake and see how your react to it naturally, when you try to frown do you remain contracting your muscles pushing against the frownies? or do you react by "backing off" and relaxing it? if your natural inclination is to push harder, then the benefits are going to be short term and be damaging long term. if your natural inclination is to "back off" and relax your muscles then you can probably use it during sleep too. however if you have intense night terrors when sleeping it may not be so.
No. No. And NO! Temporarily lift for a photo, but it is NOTHING like Botox in mechanics or results. Face tapes lift and hold. Botox relaxes muscles. Opposites. Also, tapes are quite detectable in person unless you’re using a hairpiece to cover it.
I can see it's easy (well maybe not "easy") to disguise something across the top of your head to pull back your eyes. But what about the jowls? I am getting jowls, and I am poor - I do not have money to pay for treatments let alone facelifts. Does this stuff help jowls?
I do massage in my face especially in my forehead. And put kinesiology tape above my eyebrow. It helps you relax muscles and train myself not to frown. And when I remove it my brain still think there is tape there after using it for many days. Your brain will adapt to the new habit of not moving the forehead. But you have to do it consistently. Forever. I will do it forever along with massage and freezing my face. Now that I am aware. I dont frown anymore even when Im angry. 😀
Great video Doctor Rajani! In my opinion the best solution is either a plastic surgery or just to age gracefully. I purchased the tape over a month ago and haven't use it yet. Just being scared what if it comes off while I'm somewhere out. I know it sounds silly. Need to try it out while being home. Thank you for this very informative video ❤
I`m using Kinesio Tapes over night, but not every night. Sometimes the skin needs a rest and fresh air. 🙂 I apply it between the brows, cause i noticed, i tense this area while sleeping (don`t know why), that caused me this line between the brows and hooded brows. I massage this area before i apply the tape. In the next morning, the line is gone and i feel more relaxed. - I also apply kineso tapes at the nostrils and sometimes at the cheeks. Wenn i remove it the next day, the smile lines are gone and the cheeks looks more tight - but it is not permanent. 😅 And the ugly line next to the corners of the mouth comes back after a few minutes (i hate these lines, but i don`t want injections. It`s to dangerous in that area). I`m tensing my face so often, i haven´t noticed it when i was younger. And have no idea how to stop this habit.
The idea of using K tape during night might sound ridiculous to some but I find it helps prevent further creasing of nasolabial folds if you are a sidesleeper. It also gives a plumping effect . However, some say people who have fillers should not use themas it breaks it down. What's your opinion on that @drrajani? I would appreciate your views.
I use a tape lifting product for my neck I bought on Amazon. Of course it works, it pulls the loose skin and temporarily gets rid of the sagging. The tape frequently comes off due to sweating or other reasons. But it certainly works while the tape is staying in place!
I was suggested face taping ( kinesiology and crosstape) by my ‘lopedist’ and it really helped me with difficulty breathing and sinus problems. It did make a difference lifting my fascia. and improve nosebreathing
@@SharonaKian @maryangela13. well you don’t tape it on the nose itself. You start by the nostril and pull-push-tape more or less in the direction of the eye. You don’t pull evenly all over. Lifting the underlying tissue doing so. You can also test this using you finger, getting more or less the same result. Cross tapes (eg CrossLinq) are more easy to apply. Just placing it on the point next to the nostril , under the eye and even maybe on top of the brow. Myself, I’ve never tried the crosstapes for sinus.
I really needed to learn that. I am using a FARADIC device, Rio face lift which exercises my facial muscles. I am 61...I was worried about the remaining issue of laxicity due to fat loss...so working out the muscles will build them and replace volume...🎉
I just started use the Silicone MMedical Grade wirnkles pads. All my (beteen the boobs) has dissapeance magically! And also I see a lot of fine line smooth around my crowns feet and forehead . It really works. That one I place beteen my boobs ,I yaed even when I go out because I can cover qith tshirt.
I love frownies! I was getting lines from giving my kids “the eyebrow” when they’re acting up, but frownies seem to be helping. My husband says I look ridiculous 🤣Combined with all the vitamins and skincare I’ve definitely seen an improvement. If I’ve got a day where I’m working on my laptop I’ll wear frownies or a headband so I can feel if I’m pulling stupid faces.
I remember first seeing face tape in the movie "The Birdcage," where Nathan Lane's character was using it to perform in drag. I also use Frownies overnight myself to immobilize my forehead to smooth it out. It's merely gummed kraft paper; very simple.
When I have something special coming up, the night before I use the KT tape for lifting my jowls. When I remove it the next morning I use Peter Thomas Roth face tightener. It holds for many hours. 😊
Thanks a lot doctor for the video A few days a bye tapes kinisiology for jowls lower face I wear them 4 hours a day for three times a week I like the results it's ok for three times a week;
Yes it works we get that but what we want to know is can repeated use of these bands with face tape cause more skin laxity and stretching of the skin over time?
I have auto-immune disease and my body is always overheating. I have lots of wrinkles as my mom did - she always looked older than her age. People don't notice my wrinkles as they are very fine, but I do. I don't think anything can actually help. So I just let my skin be.
Works so great for these 18 year olds! Impressive! She looks 17 now! Just wow!

@@rajanimdskincareDoes the use of K tape break down fillers as some people say? I would really appreciate your opinion.
Plus it is detrimental for healthy energy flow and can cause a host of health issues. Beware
.......do you think you pulled the skin too much out of place while / before taping it.

I have not slept in years without it
I also find it relieving.
Pretty much everyone has some parasite or fungal overgrowth. So many people have mood and stress problems that are caused by fungal overgrowth. The gut flora have far more control over us, our cravings and our behaviors than we realize. If you like geeking out on microbiology, look into toxoplasma gondii’s association with an increase in risk taking behavior.
Where do u buy it? And. Is it expensive?
@@norapeters7973 Amazon, not really expensive
For 20 years, I have been using scotch tape under my eyes, and on my frown lines on my forehead, before bed. Wrinkles are gone or substantially reduced in the morning, so I know that it is at least preventing sleep damage. I buy the value pack at Costco for 20 bucks and it lasts for over two years…including using it as a household tape. It’s essentially free compared to alternatives !😅
TIPS: Make sure that the your skin is freshly cleansed and moisturized.
Oh, my hubby would LOVE if I taped my mouth shut at night...
Thanks for sharing !👍
Mouth taping works very well for preventing snoring and improving sleep breathing. I use either nose strips or insertable nasal openers to improve my sleep airflow and it has improved the quality of my life so that I wake up refreshed and don’t require a sleep apnea machine. I “open my nose and close my mouth to sleep”. Look up mouth taping to see benefits.
I just worry about the chemicals in the glue on the tape ...
I thank you for sharing
Thank You that is a funny story!
One time I tried those magnetic false eyelashes and turned around too quickly and one of them fell off when I was grocery shopping; I needed to remove the other right away too lol
I would love to have the amazing Joan Rivers reaction to this product! LH AF😂
Waiting for some that can be used behind the hairlline.
Can't any one tell me where I could get this type?
Smoothies work very well for nasolabial lines which tend to form during the night if you sleep on your side.
I love frownies!!!! Omg!!! Amazing!!! They don’t stretch the face like tape they just make you not use those muscles
I love Frownies. Yes, they work!
I just use medical tape. I've noticed my one 1. Less noticeable 😊

Where is Dr rajani clinic?
Thank you in advance😉
I sleep with Kinesiology tape every night and it reduces wrinkles. I also tape the middle frown line during the day so I don't frown while working from home. My favourite are silicone patches though. Silicone patches seem to be the best for reducing wrinkles though because they plump out your skin so much.
Is there a specific brand of silicone patches that you recommend? I've tried medical tape but if you don't get the tape just right it can make the lines/wrinkles worse. As well as it created more lines from the edges of the tape! 🙏💕
Lol u sound like me I sleep and also work in mine😅
I tried some KT a few months ago. Also tried silicone tape. I found the silicone tape worked better on wrinkles and the KT better to pull the skin taut. I stopped both though. Here's why:
The silicone needed to be used on bare skin, but I use retinol at night and sunscreen in the day and just didn't have a couple spare hours a day to mess with the tape to smooth out wrinkles.

Scare them away!!! You’ll wake up beautiful

What will you pull the tape with to lift the neck?
Reminds me of Cinderella.😅
I have used all different brands of these things over the past 20 years and cannot live without them.
Just started but they are a game changer. Along with skin care and a few treatments 😅
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you ❤
99.999 percent of people do not get a facelift. Just unsubscribe from that channel. And welcome. More great information coming
Does the tape stretch the skin permanently and increase sagging?
I would say that using the face tape is for special occasions or when you know you're going to be photographed. Not every day. It does slightly stretch the skin, so, that is why I wouldn't use it every day. Definitely DO NOT keep it on when you sleep.
I hope this answered your question.
I'm afraid that it will, so I only use tape on special occasions. It really helps me feel more confident after face laxity from weight loss

I started breaking out in little bumps right in those areas and so I stopped but started again several times, but the same outcome. Dr Rajani, Frownies have been used for a long time to reduce the 11 eleven lines. It is supposed to retrain the muscles in the forehead.
some say it is bad because it doesn't stop your muscles from contracting and the Frownies basically provide resistance and allow those muscles to get stronger and bigger overtime :(, have you not experienced this personally? like you don't notice your forehead muscles getting bigger?
@@NomadWalker-io3ne I only used it for three months. I have not noticed that.
@@lizabetx483 ya it will probably take longer, but it will be fine if you naturally react to the resistance by "giving up" and not frowning, but if you react instead by frowning harder then it will not be good :(

Happy Sunday Dr.Rajani!❤
I was wondering the same
You have to be careful with that. I ended up with fluid filled blisters. It actually works but you need to watch how long you keep it on.
When I see young people using face tape it makes me roll my eyes!
Are "Frownies" kinesiology tape? That brand has been out for forever!
I dont care what anybody says I love face tapes they absolutely work for us poor folks 😊❤
I can’t seem to find the face tape that stays.
@@skiesthelimit1336 the kinesiology tape stays
The kinesiology tape is way cheaper at dollar store too
Doesn't the kinesiology tape cause rashes?
@@leelabizbee doesn't for me.,I use on my frown lines
Doesn't that cause you to lose your hair at the edges due to the tension on your hair?
Thanks for sharing! Keep us updated
It works. It takes 3 to 6 months. Use retin A
How do you use the brownies for headaches? Never heard of them used for that.
I would love to have the amazing Joan Rivers Reaction and Comment to this face tape! 😂
Hmmm…somehow I have a feeling it would stretch out the skin after a while!
I was wondering that too
Waterproof first aid tape on the 11's and nasolabial folds at night. I've been doing it for 20 years. People regularly clock me at 10-15 years younger than I am.
I just use aloa vera gel at night as it tightens your skin during sleep and more comfortable
Does it still have the tightening effect after you wash it off in the morning?
No you have to re-apply after washing and its also good for sun protection @@ingevankeirsbilck9601
And your going to feel sad when you take it off and see what it's really going on😦
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Wondering if it will help sagging jowls?
Yeah it's great for woman my age in their 70's. That can't afford a face lift. They are amazing.
@@dawnspears1752 tape itself does not stop your muscles from contracting, it simply provides resistance, like i said it depends on the wearer, for some if they face the resistance they will "give up" and relax the muscle, but for some when they face the resistance they will frown "harder" against the resistance instead, overtime these muscles will become stronger and bigger and make your frowns and what not stronger, so it depends on the person
....give a link to this study?
Reuse medical grade silicone (as many times) & clean with liquid soap & hypochlorous acid spray
No. No.
Thank you for informative video! Been seeing these tapes and so on on tiktok trends
No problem!!
Wow! She looks great! I would use it for special occasions !
Keep us updated on your journey!!

Hold my neck! Hold my neck! ~ My Big Fat Greek Wedding 😂
I started derma rolling and will combine it with that one... because side sleeping is really bad for the face, causes wrinkles and swelling...
Haven't celebs been using this for years
I`m using Kinesio Tapes over night, but not every night.
The tape is hidden under your hair. What if it's windy outsided?
Someone needs to invent a clamp, like a clipboard clamp that you can attach tightly into your hair and pull your hair back into a tie
Don t they have that?
@@rajanimdskincare if there is I haven't bin able to find it, something that can really crank your hair to lift the face
How do you place the tape for sinus problems? Where do you place it?
I’m curious also where you applied on your nose?
@@SharonaKian @maryangela13. well you don’t tape it on the nose itself. You start by the nostril and pull-push-tape more or less in the direction of the eye. You don’t pull evenly all over. Lifting the underlying tissue doing so. You can also test this using you finger, getting more or less the same result. Cross tapes (eg CrossLinq) are more easy to apply. Just placing it on the point next to the nostril , under the eye and even maybe on top of the brow. Myself, I’ve never tried the crosstapes for sinus.
Dr. Rajani. Please tell me your thoughts about oral minoxidil for hair loss and it’s effects on collagen production. Thank you in advance.
Facial exercise works because the muscle built up replaces the fat and lessens the horsey effect.
I really needed to learn that. I am using a FARADIC device, Rio face lift which exercises my facial muscles. I am 61...I was worried about the remaining issue of laxicity due to fat loss...so working out the muscles will build them and replace volume...🎉
I’ll let you know - I just ordered some :-)
I just started use the Silicone MMedical Grade wirnkles pads.
All my (beteen the boobs) has dissapeance magically! And also I see a lot of fine line smooth around my crowns feet and forehead . It really works. That one I place beteen my boobs ,I yaed even when I go out because I can cover qith tshirt.
I think the silicone forehead pads at night inhibit the muscles the best.
Wow, Thank you for this valuable information! Have a great day Doctor!
Thanks, you too!
Can frownies help with marionette lines? And nasolabial folds?
@@whatareyourdreams I think they do patches for different parts of the face.
Thank you dr always nice videos and good explication
Always welcome
Thanks a lot doctor for the video A few days a bye tapes kinisiology for jowls lower face I wear them 4 hours a day for three times a week I like the results it's ok for three times a week;

Looking for a tape to protect face while sleeping, something gentle. Not looking for lifts. Whats a good tape?
Yes it works we get that but what we want to know is can repeated use of these bands with face tape cause more skin laxity and stretching of the skin over time?
Nobody knows...there is no study...I know that's not the answer you want...but that's it
