I really enjoyed this video. About 15 years ago, I used tape to lift my jowls. I used it day and night if I was leaving the house. At that time, I was usually out. Case in point, it stretched my skin and eventually made it so much worse, very saggy! I have repurchased tape for the same area, and so far, I have not used it. But, if an occasion calls for it, I will......just never, ever again ,continually! Big mistake.

I've been taping my 11 lines for years now and love it. I scrunch my face really bad when I sleep and tape prevents it. It also feels good to release that tension. Yes, those muscles do begin to work close together during the day but I can only imagine what it'd look like if I didn't tape at night. I use kinesiology tape but previously used 3m Transpore tape. This is going to sound crazy but hear me out. I find that when I’m clenching my jaw or making facial signs of stress during sleep (like furrowing the brow), doing herbal parasite cleanses and taking probiotics to rebalance my gut microbiome is very helpful. Also eating less sugar. Humans used to take castor oil and other antiparasitics at least once a year and that’s something we don’t really do anymore. We deworm our pets and livestock but we don’t do it to ourselves. We really should, considering that our food is often fertilized with manure. 😂
Pretty much everyone has some parasite or fungal overgrowth. So many people have mood and stress problems that are caused by fungal overgrowth. The gut flora have far more control over us, our cravings and our behaviors than we realize. If you like geeking out on microbiology, look into toxoplasma gondii’s association with an increase in risk taking behavior.

For 20 years, I have been using scotch tape under my eyes, and on my frown lines on my forehead, before bed. Wrinkles are gone or substantially reduced in the morning, so I know that it is at least preventing sleep damage. I buy the value pack at Costco for 20 bucks and it lasts for over two years…including using it as a household tape. It’s essentially free compared to alternatives !😅
TIPS: Make sure that the your skin is freshly cleansed and moisturized. Cut about an inch to two inches of tape. For under eye taping…Run the tape under warm water for a few seconds while rubbing the top layer of adhesive off, (makes removing it much easier). The tape will curl a bit but that’s ok. I like to remove excess water on the back of my dry hand. When placing it under the eyes, look upwards to allow skin to relax in a neutral position. Because the tape has been weekend a bit by the water, you will be able to reposition if necessary. I suggest not getting too close to the lash area, because it can become uncomfortable when sleeping. Once the tape is in the correct position, press more firmly against the tape to secure. For puffy eyes or for more support, just add more layers on top of the already placed tape. You will get the hang of it as you do it more. I don’t use water when taping my forehead skin because it is much thicker than the under eye area. In the morning, I run warm water all over my face with a little bit of cleanser, and the tape virtually falls off eventually around my eyes with very little pull… if any. Look in the mirror, you won’t believe your eyes!

In 2016 I started putting blue painters tape on my eleven lines starting to form at age 55. They went away, and I have continued every night since! Now at nearly 62 I also use it across my entire forehead overnight only. (I tape my mouth to sleep with it also, and extend it to stabilize my lower face to the sides). I like the (cheap!) painters tape over medical tape because it is much easier to remove and more firm, even than the silicone face patches (which admittedly are less scary to a bed partner, lol). I always put a heavy amount of lip balm on, and my other night topicals, even moisturizers, blotted, don’t make the tape come off if pressed firmly. Severe sweating does, so I sleep as cool as possible. I have no 11 lines, and really feel that the training the muscles receive overnight lessens their habitual use during the day. I have had less luck with crows feet, and am now using Xeomin there and look forward to a chemical peel. Taking hyaluronic acid internally has helped a lot, and prevents joint pain. I avoid sugar and eat a clean keto diet and many vitamins and fish oils. I found this video very informative, articulate and balanced. Much appreciated! I might try the temporary tapes for family photos or special zoom calls. Much luck to you all!

Mouth taping works very well for preventing snoring and improving sleep breathing. I use either nose strips or insertable nasal openers to improve my sleep airflow and it has improved the quality of my life so that I wake up refreshed and don’t require a sleep apnea machine. I “open my nose and close my mouth to sleep”. Look up mouth taping to see benefits.

I bought those tapes with the rubber bands and hooks years ago. Yes, they really work. Funny, but embarrassing story: I recently had a 40 year class reunion and used the tapes in front of my ears. My long hair was down. Face looked terrific! Problem is, the event was outside and I didn't anticipate such a windy day. I frantically tried to hang on to my hair, but it was no use. I had to turn around and discreetly pull those things off my face. Oh, well. In any event, I would only use them for special occasions because I think the constant pulling of the skin would actually cause laxity. But they do work...

The only issue with frownies is you have to get the placement and pressure during application just right. Or you can end up accidentally accentuating the 11’s without realizing it. That’s a bummer when you remove in the am and you’re like “Nooooo!! Damnit!!” 😂 But yeah, they’re good. I do wonder about elasticity in the long term though. I tried some KT a few months ago. Also tried silicone tape. I found the silicone tape worked better on wrinkles and the KT better to pull the skin taut. I stopped both though. Here's why:
The silicone needed to be used on bare skin, but I use retinol at night and sunscreen in the day and just didn't have a couple spare hours a day to mess with the tape to smooth out wrinkles. I found it better to use a combo of argireline and red light therapy to simply reduce/eliminate the wrinkles and expression lines. My 11s are not free of expression lines, and there are very little elsewhere on my face. I also found that the KT taut effect had an opposite effect not only while removing the tape, but afterward. Talk about building dependency! The more you use it, the laxer your face gets without it! Just taking it off pulled my skin so much that I looked worse than had I not put it on at all. Pass.
Ultimately I've found that truly building up the structure of my face and taking good care of my skin is the better approach for me.

The elastic tape is for special occasions, it makes you look great. Kinsiology tape I've been using FOREVER. No one believes I'm anywhere near my 60s. 40 maybe. USE IT! As long as you're not allergic to the glue. There are some diyers that help on youtube on placement. Drs and others are getting many diyers youtube videos DOWN! WHY? Because THEY want your money? Because GOD forbid you should know MORE than them? I truly do not know why. They are taping their own journies and personally, i think its unconstitutional, because youtube IS taking their videos down! Based on their journey? So ridiculous! I'm glad they are on other video platforms!! I have seen miraculous diyers get so much better results in soo many areas to their own skin, and why not? They study anatomy and know just as much as these drs. In fact, I have seen many drs. CHANGE their SPECIALTIES ex: from pediatrics to cosmetic surgery and injecting fillers and botox because of it's monetary value. It's is straight out of pocket (no insurance necessary!) They make so much more money then most drs. Recently my GYN changed from his 25+ year practice to fillers and botox injecting. I'd rather listen to the diyers then most of these drs who put the diyers down. They know their anatomy and I KNOW some have been doing this a LOT longer. I'm not saying this about this Dr., but he shouldn't go by just a few studies and then say "don't do it." Kinseology tape does work and it hasn't harmed anyone, unless you are allergic to the glue. So my advice is like many, do your research and I love Kinseology tape! It's helped me "age gracefully" and I look and feel wonderful for having studied and used it. A miracle for me!

yes i've used the face tape to reduce nasolabial folds, it did work but then it made my eye hollows stand out more, I was having dinner and the tape snapped off, ran to the bathroom, lol. My mother had deep chemical peels starting in her 50's she 90 now and her skin still looks great, with very few wrinkles just sag. She gets a lighter peel now due to her age.. I see celebs like Madonna use the hair braid trick. braid pulls face back like tape.

I have no issue with using injectables, skincare products, and various techniques to maintain a youthful appearance. However, when it comes to the new trend of face taping, I personally find it unappealing. While it may give the illusion of a facelift by pulling and lifting the skin, I don't see any real benefits in using this method. In fact, there are several drawbacks to consider.
Firstly, what happens when you remove the tape or if your face becomes too oily? The temporary results achieved through face taping are short-lived and can easily be disrupted. It's similar to the idea of fillers, which merely fill in lost volume but don't actually rebuild collagen unlike treatments like Sculptra (although I think you mentioned that the treatment Sculptra is not as good as the new kid on the block Platelet Rich Fibrin since it is old tech so to speak), etc, which stimulate collagen production for more long-term results at least from what I have heard, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
Secondly, there's the issue of pulling the skin. Countless UA-cam videos warn against pulling the skin because it can lead to sagging and other negative effects. It's clear that repeatedly pulling and tugging on the skin is not a healthy practice.
Another concern is that face taping may interfere with the skin's natural ability to breathe. This could potentially result in breakouts and other skin problems. It's important to prioritize the health of our skin, and blocking its ability to function properly is not a step in the right direction.
Lastly, there's the potential for embarrassment if the tape were to come off or snap during a social event like a school reunion or a conference. I see face taping as similar to wearing a suit that creates the illusion of having six-pack abs underneath your shirt. While it may offer a temporary enhancement, it lacks any real benefits and can be easily exposed.
Overall, I believe face taping falls short in delivering significant improvements to one's appearance, maybe one can use it at night so that they don't crunch their face, chest, etc (but then again the oil from their creams will likely cause the tape to not stick so they may have to go without their skin care creams, I rather use my retinols, etc than use a tape that can give me skin problems like acne, etc) or during a photo shoot but that about it in my opinion.
    However, great video though.

Ohhhhhh my god, you can’t believe from the first day the deep lines get lighter and lighter. I wish I would’ve known how terrible that is for your aging long term. Not one person mentioned it back then. My 11’s are so resistant to botox that the surrounding muscles transitioned into 11:11’s after awhile. The filler only lasted a month. I still get Botox. But it’s depressing to spend so much money. Just to look like you aren’t doing anything. I don’t even have lines. It’s the muscle memory that does it. So interesting.

I wanted to give you my thoughts on neck lift tape: I bought it, put it on correctly, and the results were AMAZING! Almost all of my treatments have been face focused, Nova threads, retinoids, etc. The Nova threads really helped my neck, but at 45, there was a disparity between my face, which looks very young, and my neck, which looks 45. Loved them, but I think continual use would stretch the skin on my neck, eventually worsening the problem. They are great for a night out. They are great to get an idea of what a neck lift would look like. I liked them so much, I'm saving for a deep plane face and neck lift. Until then, these are great for a special occasion, photos, etc. I wish I could send you a before and after pic, but the difference is shocking. Like most things, you get what you pay for. The neck tape is $20 and it's good for 1 evening, one event. I would tell anyone to give it try, just like you'd test drive a car. You really like it? Well, you need to buy it, not rent it. If you have longer hair, it's totally invisible. And your going to feel sad when you take it off and see what it's really going on😦

One word of caution, botox stops your muscles from contracting, face tape doesn't stop your muscles from contracting, instead it provides resistance, if you continue to contract your muscles and end up contracting harder due to the resistance of face tape then the muscles that are doing things you don't like like frowning will become stronger and bigger over time, however if you are able to not contract harder due to the resistance then yes it would be a positive thing, so it depends on the wearer. so be careful everyone.

I massage this area before i apply the tape. In the next morning, the line is gone and i feel more relaxed. - I also apply kineso tapes at the nostrils and sometimes at the cheeks. Wenn i remove it the next day, the smile lines are gone and the cheeks looks more tight - but it is not permanent. 😅 And the ugly line next to the corners of the mouth comes back after a few minutes (i hate these lines, but i don`t want injections. It`s to dangerous in that area). I`m tensing my face so often, i haven´t noticed it when i was younger. And have no idea how to stop this habit.

The idea of using K tape during night might sound ridiculous to some but I find it helps prevent further creasing of nasolabial folds if you are a sidesleeper. It also gives a plumping effect . However, some say people who have fillers should not use themas it breaks it down. What's your opinion on that @drrajani? I would appreciate your views.

I use a tape lifting product for my neck I bought on Amazon. Of course it works, it pulls the loose skin and temporarily gets rid of the sagging. The tape frequently comes off due to sweating or other reasons. But it certainly works while the tape is staying in place!

@@SharonaKian @maryangela13. well you don’t tape it on the nose itself. You start by the nostril and pull-push-tape more or less in the direction of the eye. You don’t pull evenly all over. Lifting the underlying tissue doing so. You can also test this using you finger, getting more or less the same result. Cross tapes (eg CrossLinq) are more easy to apply. Just placing it on the point next to the nostril , under the eye and even maybe on top of the brow. Myself, I’ve never tried the crosstapes for sinus.

Facial exercise works because the muscle built up replaces the fat and lessens the horsey effect.

I love frownies! I was getting lines from giving my kids “the eyebrow” when they’re acting up, but frownies seem to be helping. My husband says I look ridiculous 🤣Combined with all the vitamins and skincare I’ve definitely seen an improvement. If I’ve got a day where I’m working on my laptop I’ll wear frownies or a headband so I can feel if I’m pulling stupid faces.

I remember first seeing face tape in the movie "The Birdcage," where Nathan Lane's character was using it to perform in drag.
I also use Frownies overnight myself to immobilize my forehead to smooth it out. It's merely gummed kraft paper; very simple.
