Ooty Toy Train Journey Behind A Steam Engine In Rainy Season!!!😍

Join me as I take a ride on India's last meter gauge steam train from Coonoor to Mettupalayam in Tamil Nadu by the UNESCO certified Niligiri Mountain Railway.
An X class oil fired meter gauge steam engine is used to pull the train from Coonoor to Mettupalayam, aided by a rack and pinion arrangement to tackle steep gradients.
Tickets can be booked in advance through IRCTC in two classes: second class and first class. A limited number of second class tickets are also available at the station on a first come first serve basis.

There is no diesel genset in the loco. It is not internal combustion (IC) engine like automobile engine. In the loco, water in the boiler is heated by an oil burner and steam is produced. In case of coal engines, water is heated by coal burner.
