I've never had the impression that there were too many snakes and not enough frogs anywhere. There are some predators that eat snakes. However, you don't see that very often. Once a buzzard landed about 10 meters from me on the bank of a pond, apparently having spotted a snake in the grass. However, the snake managed to escape. The buzzard may have been young and inexperienced in hunting snakes. Once I was able to film a gray heron with a grass snake. But I don't know how this story ended.
