Huge Metallica fan here, so I feel your pain. This is a tough song to start with though.
Their catalog is HUGE, so don't give up yet, there is bound to be something she likes in their music. :-)
If not don't sweat it, my wife isn't really completely on board with Metallica either. Just a cross we must bear I guess.
Metallica is in the top 3 of my Fav bands..listen to some of the classics like Nothing else matters, One, Unforgiven, Fade to Black..she will like those songs

This is the second video I have watched. You really need to start a little softer. You are throwing her into the deep end of the pool. Maybe start with some Queen, Zeppelin, ACDC stuff like that. Then you get to the deep end. You should show her Enter Sandman in Russia with the 1.6 million people. How about some Dimash.

I enjoyed the video! I'm a Metallica fan. Been one since the 90's and yeah.. her not liking this is kind of a bummer but that's okay. There are many other Metallica songs for her to listen to and maybe enjoy. If she doesn't like ANY of them.. welp, just doesn't suit her. No big deal.

You should try The Warning. They are 3 sisters from Mexico who first came to fame in 2014 with their viral (22+ million views) cover of Metallica's 'Enter Sandman'. At the time, they were 14, 12, and 9 years old. Now they have an EP and 3 albums of original material. Try 'Evolve' or 'Choke'. Or try their new cover of 'Enter Sandman' with Alessia Cara, which is the first track on Metallica's Blacklist album.

Hi, greetings from the Netherlands. I enjoyed the reaction. I might have an interesting recommendation for you both. Have you ever listened to Nightwish? I think it's something your wife could enjoy too. They are a symphonic metal band from Finland and they’re top notch in this genre. Their Dutch singer, Floor Jansen, has one of the best female voices in metal today. None of the Nightwish songs are alike. There are epic and melodic songs, like the one I’m recommending now, but they can also go really heavy on you and the next song could be very celtic sounding or even jazzy. Their music is exceptionally well composed and the lyrics are very powerful and poetic. Nightwish is best appreciated LIVE. Give the song Ghost Love Score a try. Your wife seems a very nice lady, but is not a metal head .. Try some Iron Maiden live performances Trooper, for example not too heavy. Bruce always delivers. She also needs her own cans.
"Sad but True" is not a good song to start someone off on Metallica, and optimists are always going to struggle with most heavy rock and metal. I would've started on Nothing Else Matters and gone from there.
