Fav common is Hologram and fav card is Echo form because it's so fun :D Also if you can combo it with creative AI it can be a so so fun if you get to stack enough focus and/or loops :)
As a new player with this being free on PS+ I appreciate these vids I'm too small brain to play defect, beaten it with ironclad and silent already but defect just goes so bad every time haha
Cold Snap and Barrage are my faves because I always go for high slot Focus builds. Claw is good too but only when I can get several and/or remove other cards from my deck to make the most of its secondary.
I got my first win against the heart period as the defect at ascensión 9 by just getting a ton of 0 cost cards, and getting one for all from yhe holograma back and back again XD
Perhaps you should have precised how Rebound and Sweeping Beam interact since you said that Sweeping Beam is worth playing multiple times. (Rebound -> SB draws you a new card, not the SB that stays on top)
it's especially good late game if one has a larger deck with a lot of defragments and consumes in their deck and having one or more of the following runic capacitor relic, inserter relic (my favorite way to gain extra orb slots) and capacitor card, it can help out in getting set up which can be dangerous in large decks with a lot of focus gain cards and with a larger deck the negative effect of turbo is a lot less bad
Recursion isn’t creating any additional passive damage or passive block, it would be there either way regardless of playing the card. Hope that makes sense!

TURBO, and you didn't talk about it! :(

Did he forget turbo? or is it considered really bad?
@@jblev736 I think he forgot it or maybe it was an edit mistake :) great video anyway, tho.

That's an interesting pronunciation of Compile Driver. It's a play on Pile Driver...
Recursion also has synergy with Blizzard and Thunder Strike.
And Juzu Bracelet because you're less likely to encounter enemies so the card will be drawn less over the course of the run.

Love your guides! Also, I'm always in awe, when I see Claw.
Poor Turbo. So bad that it was ignored. :(
i pick up turbo if i need something early to enable the big smack plasma card
After watching this I built a deck that was mostly dark orbs, recursions, and blocks. It was a lot of fun as the damage just grows and grows.
go for the eyes is better than beam cell if your main damage source is orbs (orbs aren't affected by vulnerability)
In the early game, damage from orbs isn't typically your main damage source, but Beam Cell does tend to depreciate if you find focus.
Cold Snap and Barrage are my faves because I always go for high slot Focus builds. Claw is good too but only when I can get several and/or remove other cards from my deck to make the most of its secondary.
Now that I'm rewatching this video I can't help but type that my favourite Defect's common card to pick up on floor one is none other but:
Streamline
I always take.Claw, although I always have to claw my way to victory
Hologram and Claw are my favorite common cards.
Im a new sub i appreciate the content you have a voice that doesnt make me cringe so its something i can play in the background while i enjoy the game
...and today, 100s of hours into the game with no heart win as Defect, I finally realized that the upgraded Hologram doesn't exhaust.
I got my first win against the heart period as the defect at ascensión 9 by just getting a ton of 0 cost cards, and getting one for all from yhe holograma back and back again XD
Super helpful! Your guides are the best and helped me really enjoy this game
1. Hologram. 2. Ball Lightning 3. Charge Battery. But I will definitely have to give Rebound some work after seeing this.
You are great man
Nice! I've been waiting for this one.

lets goo!! i love these videos of yours and have been looking forward to this one
Awesome. You should review the uncommons next
Can you make one of these for Watcher? This was so helpful and I'm so lost on Watcher lmao
What do you think about Turbo? I'm always unsure about picking it up in a run. Sometimes I want to when I'm stuck on 3 energy
if one can get it upgraded already I think it's a good card, because the negative effect cards from it are ethereal
it's especially good late game if one has a larger deck with a lot of defragments and consumes in their deck and having one or more of the following runic capacitor relic, inserter relic (my favorite way to gain extra orb slots) and capacitor card, it can help out in getting set up which can be dangerous in large decks with a lot of focus gain cards and with a larger deck the negative effect of turbo is a lot less bad
Keep up the good work, your insights are very helpful👊
Also all of the relics that give extra draw are s tier
Impossible to find a STS video under 20 minutes.
can we do only a claw ftl beam cell and all for one deck and the rest is defense?
I like how you’re nice and comfortable
Turbo?

With recursion you're really getting 11 damage or 7 block because the orb will then activate again after being evoked
Recursion isn’t creating any additional passive damage or passive block, it would be there either way regardless of playing the card. Hope that makes sense!
I think you missed Turbo
