Tessie, I have followed you for several years and I love you, but I need to make a recommendation to you to be careful with suggesting essential oils in recipes. Remind everyone to use only a safe amount (to look the dilution rate up for each oil used). I have had friends suffer severe burns to the skin, one internally in the digestive system when they have used essential oils at too high of a dilution rate. You might want to add a disclaimer to the videos that you post that contain the use of essential oils. Peppermint is a very concentrated essential oil, meaning, it can burn the skin easily, and people are often sensitive to it. Menthol, camphor, and eucalyptus are the main essential oils used in the rubs that help with breathing, be very very careful with the dilution rate of those as well. Thank you for your beautiful videos...they are enjoyed!
Make sure you have plenty of money saved for your dental bills. I used homemade toothpaste for two years and ruined my teeth in the process. It's costing me a small fortune now to rebuild the enamel and deal with all the other issues caused by it.
Good Morning Tessie, Sisters, Brothers, and Friends, Wish you all a wonderful blessed Sunday filled with Gods Joy and happiness :-) Remember to pray for one another and for all around the world :-) God Bless You ! Love you all :-) Keep smiling be safe :-)

Tessie, this a great way to save money making tooth paste and Vicks salve a good winter project for those times when you can't get out and just to keep busy I have just used baking soda with a little warm water at times :-) Love you my sister :-) God Bless You and Ken :-)
@@joyevefarmandforge Doing this once a month during the warmer weather (don't want to freeze your plumbing) helps the plumbing throughout your home. It will help eliminate any grime or mold that is trying to collect in your sewer lines. You can even add a cup of bleach with your boiling water for each sewer line.
Nice jelly idea, not sure about using sodium bicarb on teeth. It might be too abrasive on your tooth enamel. Just thinking about how effective sodium bicarb is scouring surfaces. Cheers

Hi Tessie. We don’t have conditioning at my house. But I put a 2litre soda bottle filled with water and freeze it, then place it on a towel in front of my fan. It works a treat ❤
Great video.... awesome on the toothpaste. I've been making a tooth powder for about 15-20 years. It's a recipe that my grandmother gave me and it's is so easy....also make a simple mouthwash with clove oil. Our gardens are pretty much done as well. And, we are preparing for fall and winter ...as well as taking care of hubby who just had shoulder router cuff surgery Thu so he is down for 6 weeks pretty much. Have great day
Thanks for this video! I just brushed my teeth with homemade tooth-powder. Made with baking soda, a little sea salt, and finely crumbled spearmint. I just pour a little tooth-powder into the palm of my clean hand and dip the moistened toothbrush. Smells wonderfully minty but has just a, slightly, minty taste and leaves my mouth feeling clean. Never going back to store-bought toothpaste.
My Mom grew up during the depression. She said that they would kill a skunk and take the fat and render it. It smells like skunk. But that was their vicks. She said everyone at school smelled like skunk but it works.
I love your homemade remedies. My grandmother made ginger poultices, for pain relief. Instead of using BenGay or muscle rubs. I can't remember how she made them. She used silver dollars and dimes for cuts and scrapes. Just either held them or taped them in place. Thank you for sharing your chest rub and toothpaste
Will you still have "Vintage Thursdays" ? We have enjoyed and used many tips from your videos. I actually am in the process of relandscsping (ugh!) and have a portion we call Tessies spot 😊. Enjoy your day.
I just enjoy what you share so much. I always learn so many money saving tips from you. It is so good getting back to the basics and simple way of living and you teach me so much on this channel. Your amazing Tessie!
Some things can easily made by our selves. For quite some years in The Netherlands we have a few books which would be translated as 'Grandma knows what to do', there is even an internetpage with recipes or old fashion solutions. I have a few from those books, and when there is a 'problem' I first visit that page or look it up in a book before buying a commercial product. The older I get the more I use those old tricks and making a lot of things from scratch.
Tessie I loved all the recipes you used today for all the projects. I still have a bunch of canning of stuff I threw into the freezer until the weather cooled down. I'm going to use your Vicks recipe today as I battle congestion between sinus drainage and allergies. You look radiant as well. Have a blessed day friend
Good morning pretty Tessie ❤ we are moved and still cleaning and unpacking! The roofers are here now for the second day. I have a lot of catching up to do on your videos and I am looking forward to it! I have missed you!
Ms Tessie - Consider networking among the zillion people you know for some of those larger glass jars. True, those closer to you may not be dancing atop tables towards the end of a night at the local tavern, but I'm going to guess that some of the folks at those big, monthly community produce and other item give aways work in the restaurant trades or know folks who do. Big pickle jars, gallon pickled egg jars, and the like are what you need.
What a well timed video Tessie, I had just put toothpaste on the shopping list😅 i have all the ingredients so going to have a go at making it for a lot cheaper than the shop brought one, thanks again tessi x
Hi, Tessie! That salve must smell incredible. I love the idea of making toothpaste and a more natural version of Vicks. The tutorials and recipes so helpful; I'll be giving these a try for sure. We're shifting to all-things-fall here, too. It's such a cozy time of year. 🍂
Another wonderful video! The last dentist I went to, maybe slightly more natural, the hygienist said that then(in 2018)the last 5-10 years toothpaste has gotten worse. Terrible chemicals, etc. She actually recommends oil pulling with coconut oil in the morning before eating or drinking, and then only brushing your teeth with water. Sometimes I brush with colloidal silver(I make my own), but I don't always do that. The new dentist I now go to has no idea that I don't use toothpaste. Its been almost 7 years since I've used any. For any coffee stains I might get, I use a little baking soda on a q-tip and rub it off. Side note, the last place I went to said I had 9 cavities. None of them are there anymore! Thank you, Jesus! I do have 2 small ones that he's watching, but its been 1.5 years now and no mention of needing to fix them. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos.
Theresa would you look through your books and see if you have a denture powder recipe. I hate buying denture tablets and would love to make my own soak. TY and God bless you.
I plan on making the toothpaste that you showed.😊 Thank you so much, Tessie for teaching us these natural things. Theres a reason there's a warning label on most, if not all not mass produced toothpaste.
Good Job! You had a full day. I've made our toothpaste for years (but a different recipe) - so much better for us. If you knew what was in toothpaste, you'd know why they say to spit it out 😂 I've not made the chest rub though - thanks! Oh Merissa has a blog by that name with many of the recipes. I do believe you'd approve 😊 Blessings~
Check out one of your local restaurants that uses pickles, jalapenos, ect... That will give you the gallon glass jars free or for a small fee. You can add activated charcoal when making your own tooth paste.
You got a lot accomplished and it's always a good feeling not to be forced to use the store bought with fluoride and chemicals. I make my own tooth powder and shake it onto my brush from a glass salt shaker which looks prettier than a toothpaste tube. The fewer ready made products we need to depend on, the better and having recipe books like the one you showed is important. Great video, thanks!
Hey Tessie. I'm starting a notebook on all of the homemade products you show us. I thought i could remember the toothpaste for sure. But i could not remember anything but the baking soda. Also i dont need to think i can go back later and look things up because we may not have power or cell service etc. So I think i need a notebook now. The vicks rub is good for more than just a chest rub... I rub it on my dry feet then put socks on and it gives you soft feet after 15 or 20 mins. I also heard it you rub it on your feet at bedtime with socks it helps the cough. Now i dont know for sure how well that works but i will try it when i get a cough. The old fashion grape juice is easy to make but you need to wait a few weeks to drink it but it is still like a prepping item everyone can do way ahead of time if they have grapes and jars. Very good teaching video tonight. Thank you my sisterfriend 👍🤗💙🙏🍇

The toothpaste tastes delicious! I added a few drops of clove oil to prevent cavities and kill bacteria.

Hi Tessie How long does the toothpaste last? I will try to get that book too. I love homemade old fashion recipes of all kinds.
Just got back from Church. Already Sunday here in Australia. God bless.
Just be careful about putting the "toothpaste " down the sink, as it can clog the pipes.
Thank you so much for letting me know I was not even thinking about that but you are correct
Helps to use boiling water down the pipes every now and then!

Coconut oil solidifies at around 75 degrees. It can cause MAJOR plumbing problems over time.
