I went to a John Denver concert in 1974 at UTEP in El Paso Texas. I was 17 and we were in a small room with about 50 people. I will never forget how his music and innocent personality impacted me. Over the years I attended 3 more of his concerts, each one bigger and better than the last. A brilliant light went out the day he died, but his music and his legacy go on forever.

I’m 63 now... when I was 18 I survived a bomb blast... I was in a coma in a London hospital. My girlfriends mum used to come sit by my bed after work on the way home and play John Denver on tape to me... Over the next Six months I came back slowly... learnt to talk, walk,, feed, simple things.... John Denver has stayed with me all my life, I strum his chords, badly, sing his words , a little better... He is with me always... As is Evelyn too... Thank you both... ! And the Doctors and Nurses of the Royal Free....! Respect...!

I went to two John Denver concerts in the seventies. Never saw a better natural performer. He established a rapport with the audience that most performers can't or don't try. From all the many concert footages and people's memories of his concerts, he spent a lot of his life on the road. I hope he got back from them as much as he gave, which was a lot.

I met Denver at a restaurant (Andres of Aspen) in Aspen while filming a tv show. We asked if we could do an interview for our Christmas show. He respectfully declined saying he didn’t do any interviews while at home. We respectfully appreciated his answer. He was nothing but cordial and very nice and spoke with us for a while. He was particularly excited about an upcoming tour where the stage was in the round (rotating). I saw that concert in Houston and it was great! I have always loved his music. He was a great songwriter and musician. And a very nice person.

But more than anything else, I’m sorry for myself...I only hope I will be rescued. I always wanted to please my mom and dad, and grandparents, but the challenges I have been through have caused me to be less than what I was when they were here with me, and us....actually my mom and grandma were here for part of my problems. I will try to get back there, but I have had two big scars, and I am never the same with some trials.

Jacqueline Mary, as you always referred to her, & I still have our photograph of us all , sited in a prominent position, back in the UK, where it will remain until our demise. RIP my friend , I guess that we are on our way !!! TJR Canary Islands.

I have loved him for more than 50 years. What a blessing to have known him personally. I have always hoped he’s with our Lord. Such a loss here on this earth.

But more than anything else I'm sorry for my self ( I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WENT AWAY ) how painful those words sound when you come to the final realisation and utter disbelief that the person you have loved so deeply all your life has just left you. Soul destroying.

Even more painful when more than 30 years later, seeing a picture of the love you drove away, you want desperately to reset the clock. Relationships do not have to be perfect; what matters is being loved, and loving, unconditionally.

@@georgeleicht9917 It’s been 44 years and there’s not one day that goes by that I don’t think about her and what should have been if not for my pettiness.

If we only would had paid attention to his latter songs how much it would have meant to him and all of us. It makes
Me cry to think of how much we need him now!
We love, John. God bless you.
