FYI The original unaired 13 minute 1964 pilot episode pitched to CBS was shot in colour.

That's very interesting! Is said pilot available anywhere? And why did they ultimately decide on black and white? Was it cost, or an aesthetic choice?

@@princeeverlove The colorization of that was all wrong though. Herman was a weird green, Lily's dress was pink and she was a weird color and lots of other colors were wrong as well. Lily never wore a pink dress, only blue and grey ones. Whoever colorized it did a terrible job and didn't reference any of the actual colors.

Thank you, Joe. I want to colorize Leave it to Beaver, but I'm having trouble choosing a 30-60 second scene. Are there any stand out scenes that come to mind that might look good in color? A particularly good Ward speech?

I love it! Only slight correction to make: at 0:27, Mr. Bloom's ear is green inside.

Colorizing this kind of fills in the gap of the series' original half-pilot, where the first half of the "My Fair Munster" episode was shot in color, but then redone in B&W with Yvonne and Butch Patrick added to the cast. It kind of gives you an idea of what the end of that episode would have looked like, if Universal had done the full 30 minutes. Thanks
