    If the eye was so perfectly designed, why do a lot of people end up needing glasses?

      That's basically what I've said to other people except I didn't use the eye as my example. I used the throat. The throat and esophagus are stupidly designed for obvious reasons. A person could choke on their food and die.

      *SILORTHEBLADE:*
      One could not be as stupid as you pretend to be without a great deal of effort! [smh]
      *MANJIT TOOR:*
      But hey, ooh, ooh! My turn! Have you ever seen how an uncaused explosion of nothing, nowhere, can generate all time, space, and matter, and then how that matter can come to life, and then how that life can become all life, and then how some of that life can claim to know things that there is zero evidence for and only evidence against? Me neither, but that doesn't stop the atheists from believing and being proud of their faith! [face-palm]
      *THE AMAZIN' ZEDD:*
      And you have a better explanation that is in agreement with all that we do know, observe, and experience - or do you just have blind faith?
      *JAMES CROW:*
      For sure, no reason for reason or logic when one is defending self-destructive behaviors, right? Oh, of course not! Just course jesting and reveling in idiocy! No IQ necessary! LOL

    just a clarification... While Ray Comfort does like to stage interviews that give the impression that he's on a college campus, the DRAMA wing of CSULB while technically part of a college is not likely to be a wealth of informed opinion about biology.
    Neither is Santa Monica Pier during the weekdays when the only people on the beach are the trust fund babies who took Skiing as their major with a minor in Tanning Booth.

    Very happy this popped up in my feed. I'm a big fan of both GAM and TA, so the crossover episode is great.
    The biggest thing for me that makes Ray a bad faith actor is seeing his points across his material. In this one the eye is a glorious creation of god and only he could make something so perfect. In other ones he derides atheists for believing our lying eyes that can't be trusted. Putting them together him pointing at the eye is like me pointing at the Beverly Hillbillies' jalopy and extolling the perfection of its builder.

    • @GUITARTIME2024
      @GUITARTIME2024 7 років тому

      Evhan the Infidel actually both accents u r referring to are pretty good. The kiwi accent isn't quite right but it's not bad for an american and Mike Myers does a pretty good Scottish accent (though exagerated). his parents were from northern England so he has an ear for British stuff.

    • @evhantheinfidel
      @evhantheinfidel 7 років тому +3

      raleighman3000 He's not bad on SNL or as Shrek, but Fat Bastard is way exaggerated, not just a little. It's like TV Irish versus the various Irish accents that exist in real life. I imagine there's some variation between regions in New Zealand, but I can hear a distinct difference between actual Kiwis I've talked to and listened to and Eli's affectation. Eli's also used almost the exact same voice for Ken Ham before, and he's Australian. That suggests to me that he can't tell the difference.

    He knows and many street preachers know they are cornered. They don't want truth but want to feel superior and get that money. It is about power that cults and religions can give religious leaders. It isn't about anything much related to morals, love, or caring if people accept a certain religion. Also it is funny when Muslims copy these techniques Christian preachers use to advertise and con people.

    44:44 "Which came first: the Chicken, or the Egg?"
    No matter what, the egg came first. Either before birds as a type of animal came about, there were creatures that layed eggs in the world.
    Or, if you specifically mean a _chicken egg_ the egg still came first. As evolution progressed, non-chicken ancestors to chickens gradually changed over time, eventually one that was nearly-indistinguishable from a modern chicken would lay an egg that had a mutation. Thus a chicken-egg was laid. So, a chicken-egg came before a chicken (which would then hatch from said egg).

    • @jessebryant9233
      @jessebryant9233 5 років тому

      So you're saying that a non-bird produced an egg first... So what came first then, the creature that laid the egg... or the egg? Well, you say, "EGG!" So something else was alive and had the capability of producing offspring... which begs the question. _Are you really this simple minded or are you honestly so stupid that you miss the entire point?_

    • @DraconicDuelist
      @DraconicDuelist 5 років тому +1

      @@jessebryant9233TL;DR at bottom.
      In the beginning there was no life in the universe. Over time various chemicals, temperature fluctuations, and environmental instabilities allowed for elements, to form molecules, which then went on to form basic proteins.
      These proteins would be shifted and moved around; sometimes they'd be broken back down before anything special could happen, but other times they'd manage to link together with another protein that was lucky enough to be shaped correctly. Lather, rinse, repeat for an unknown amount of time, and these combinations would link together into linger chains until the most basic single-celled "lifeforms" came to be.
      They were barely above complex chemicals, just reacting to the environment in predisposed means: wet? float. dry? break. too acidic? energize a bit and move away. (basic _potential_ examples that could come about through chemical reactions).
      Over time means of self replication would be acquired through chance (proteins arrange in such a way that they gather new ones to start building a new chain), and because it improves the number of this same "cell" it continues to be created. More and more of these "cells" are being made, so more of this simple "life" continues to spread into new areas.
      In these new areas, different kinds of proteins could be found. Some may even have partial shape similarity to the old ones, allowing them to be brought into the production line. Here we have random mutations.
      Different but similar proteins are brought into the mix, causing new reactions to external stimulus. The "cells" become more complex, causing them to advance more rapidly into new territories and gaining more mutations.
      Millions of years of this, the types "cells" dying off, sometimes permanently sometimes because they changed too much to be considered the same thing. They get longer, more complex chains, causing them to get bigger and have more parts that have different functions.
      Eventually, they gain code that lets them work together- multi-cellular organisms. These are larger, much more complex, and better at surviving. However they still need to go about gathering energy and slowly changing.
      Eventually we have ancient fish, plants, lizards, amphibians, etc... Most of the mutations in life are caused during the newly produced "sexual reproduction." Since the new lifeforms aren't built by a single lifeform they don't have as rapid of extreme changes, so they're more stable but also slower to adapt as a species.
      For the animal-based life, producing a protected egg that contains the basic necessities for producing a new life becomes much more useful. In fact you could argue that seeds are just "plant eggs" (excluding the normal terminology for sexual reproduction cells). So, "egg" but not a "chicken egg."
      Millions of years go by, eventually we acquired birds in our menagerie. Slow mutations change one species until a "non-chicken" lays a chicken egg. Out hatches the first "chicken."
      -------------------------------------------
      *TL;DR*
      -If they want the answer to "What came first? The chicken, or the chicken's egg" The answer is the egg. *(non chicken laid first chicken egg)*
      -If they want the answer to "What came first? The chicken, or any kind of egg" The answer is still obviously the egg.
      *(eggs have existed in various forms long before chickens did)*
      -If they want the answer to your version "What came first? This creature that laid an egg, or the egg laid by this creature?" _That_ creature that laid _that_ specific egg... *(it's freaking obvious that the chicken that laid the egg you're holding, came about before the egg **_it_** laid)*
      -If they want the answer to "What came first, *life,* or an egg?" The answer is going to be *life.*
      But no one ever specifies _life_ it's always "chicken." They ask "Which came first, this creature that hatches from these eggs, or the eggs that it lays?"
      Some other type of creature will have come before it, whether the first version of this current species is in any form similar to to now, is irrelevant. It's a direct ancestor, without that prehistoric non-egg-laying semi-lifeform, we wouldn't have the now egg-laying version.
      It may be a question intended to make you think in circles over "how can something be created before the thing that created it" but that's not the game everyone wants to play. However you phrase it, there is an answer. But if the asker just wants to confuse the other person and not listen to the answer, who's the real fool?

    Ray Comfort is a businessman who sells lies in books and movies. He markets them by doing personal promos on video, in which he attempts to argue his preferred deity into existence with people who aren't prepared for such arguments, and giving selective interviews. He's a perpetual motion machine, using snippets of his films as promos, and including his promo work in his films, apparently. Therefore, he has no interest in learning anything that would slow sales, and he has no interest in engaging in meaningful discussion with any intelligent individual...that would slow sales. See how this works? It's really not worth tilting at this windmill any further than to say, "Oh look, Ray Comfort has added another item to his inventory," every time he releases a book or a movie.

      2. Because love requires justice. Nobody has to go to Hell. But in order to be forgiven, you must first repent and transfer your trust from yourself to the Savior. It is not a question of whether God loves you. The question is, do you love God? Do you love what is good and hate what is bad?

      There doesn't have to be a standard. If you don't like something someone does to you, you consider it to be bad--you don't need a god to tell you hurting someone is a bad thing. 2. Don't like ≠ ought not, bad, evil, wicked, wrong, or sinful. YOU are being arbitrary and acting as if YOU are the source of the standard even while YOU are claiming that there is no standard while acting like there is. (Confused and contradictory? Yep! But that's humanism for ya!) Fact is, YOU recognize the there IS a standard, even while YOU deny the only possible source of such a standard. (See Romans 2:14-15)
      3. Also, when YOU say that hurting people is bad - YOU are acting as if there is a standard outside of YOURSELF - a standard that applies to ALL men and not just Y-O-U.
      4. So WHY do you think that hurting people is immoral?
      5. It also seems to me that YOU just stated that YOU know that there is no standard (while acting like/pretending there is) and implying that YOU know that God does not exist. _Okay, how do you know that?_

    I always looked at the "Chicken & the Egg" problem with an assumption, that they are referring to the chicken egg and not just a generic egg.
    The answer of course is the chicken, because the egg that the chicken hatched from was a "proto-chicken" egg. This means that the chicken did indeed come first.
