Thanks for your video. Can you explain a bit about how the money exchange works with the coffee shop for your art? Or do you have a video about it? I’m not sure how much the shop should get for having my art there. Do they get a portion of each sale or pay me upfront for my art or do I collect money from them at end of month?? I have no idea. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

great question! I don’t have a video about this but most places will typically take 30-40% of each sale for being the storefront for your artwork. every place is different, at some places I get paid monthly no matter how much I’ve sold, other places will pay me a lump sum once I hit X amount of sales. just ask the question and when you go to sign the agreement it should all be laid out for you as well. hope that helps! 🤗

@@kirstynamanda I would also love a video about different arrangements you’ve had or have heard of, as well as tips for negotiation and advocating for yourself.

@@kirstynamanda Thanks so much! I recently approached a cafe and they were looking for 50%. In the end, the cafe owner didn’t take my products but it was my first and only attempt so far. I’ll try others

So, is it better to have prints made instead of the original piece? I’d like to do this too but not sure of the best place to have my prints made. And has anyone ever requested the original? I am assuming those artworks would cost more?

Hi Lori! I wouldn’t say one is better over the other per say, but typically prints are sold at a much more affordable price than the original art. for me, I felt that they had a better chance of selling at that price in a place like this. I do still sell originals on my website as well though. that said - there were about a dozen original art pieces in this coffee shop as well from other artists. it’s all personal preference!

@@kirstynamanda ok, thanks so much! We have several cute boutique shops, eateries and coffee shops around my area. But wasn’t sure where to get prints done.

I am not sure what area you are in, but I am in Canada and use a place called Little Rock Printing! I also have a video on how to digitize your artwork for prints as well 🤗
