I was an occupational therapist. Greatest compliment of my life/ career was when a pre-k child , with high level autism , tried to grab 2 apples I’d painted off the paper. It was from my first watercolor painting class. Many years later, I walked into a middle school classroom and the sub for the regular teacher happened to be that young man, all grown up. I’m retired now , from the team of “artists” who help kids achieve their potential and immersing myself in learning about creating art. Thank you for becoming one of my teachers. There is so much to learn, and you teach it with such joy.

Hi Lana, happy to see your video again here! I was wondering how long does it take to complete the whole process? like for each layer and waiting time etc. And I'm using mixed media paper with smooth surface (200gsm), would it be suffice? I'm trying to manage my expectation & budget tbh :') thanks for the tutorial!

This one leaf probably took 4-6 hours or so. I never remember to time these things.
I did a collage of 12 leaves and that was probably 40-50 hours… maybe more. Two pretty full weeks of work.
Because of the time I spend on my pieces I will always fork out the money for paper! You can buy single sheets of arches hot pressed watercolor paper at many art supply stores… those pieces of paper are large and are only $4-5 I think
That was awesome, I think I might draw some fall leaves in my next project.
