Im glad i watched this as i wasnt expecting the oil to fire out sideways. Gonna make sure to use the deep pan on this one (i also have that same shallow pan).
Some tips…..use a proper tool for removing the oil filter that bottom part is for draining the filter prior to removal and shouldn’t be used to remove or tighten the oil filter. Also it has an o-ring that needs to be replaced. You should ALWAYS replace the drain plug washer they’re like .75 cents at Toyota or Lexus . I would suggest a bucket instead of that awful drain pan. Or look into the fumoto valve and make your life easier for the next oil change.
I don't want to be too discouraging, but I would not have posted this video. Just about everything you did went sideways. On a positive note, you made it through it without major a major fatality. Next time will be better.
Changing your own oil is a humble endeavor! Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the advice!
Just cut the top off the drain pan works great then
great video
Hi! Can you create one one video replacing brake fluid and bleeding brake fluid at the same time?
Lower the vehicle on the jack stand. You want the stand to hold the weight of the car not the jack . We need you around to make more videos for us .
Not bad for your first oil change ever… hopefully you learned alot of value able lesson for your next attempt.
Use an oil extractor if you don't want any mess. I use it more these days and cycle with 1 full drain oil change for every 3 oil extractor oil change.
Oil mess surprise hilarious!
Jack it up bro 😎💪🏽
Agree with this! To be around for the next oil change.
