There are so many brands and combinations of various tools out there! I’d say for a beginner DIY start with a set of wrenches, ratchet/socket/extension kit, screwdriver set, pliers and a torque wrench that goes up to at least a 100 ft-lbs.

Excellent instructional video Victor. I just ordered the Denso plugs through the Amazon link.
What about the coils.....especially on the difficult to reach side? Should I go ahead and replace those too? I don't love replacing good parts, but I don't want to go back there again.

I personally have not seen any ignition coils fail on the 2016-2022 RX, so on my personal vehicle I would not be replacing the coils, but you could definitely do the rear ones at the same time as the plugs if you would like to.

Thank you. I found a little oil on the gasket from the intake manifold. Is this normal or could my PVC valve need changing.

@Viktor_G_Automotive I was just explaining this to my girlfriend, usually toyota is great at keeping things up front but when you get into "lexury" sports vehicles they really f*** people over. I told her I would do it myself because for a simple job or supposed to be simple they make you spend money out the ass and this is exactly why. Toyota really screwed the normal person on this one.

Really appreciate your attention to detail. In a comment you made, on when to replace the spark plugs you suggest 120K miles. Is that true for the 2016-2022 models too, which have 2GR-FKS engine types? What is said is that these are direct injection types that require 60K miles replacement. Also, my mechanic says that I am better off getting getting the induction service for these engine types. Your comments would be helpful. My RX 350 2016 just crossed 60K and drives absolutely well. Thanks!

Hi, I looked into this more so I could give you an accurate answer and discovered something interesting. I am located in Canada and the Lexus Canada website recommends spark plug replacement on the 2016-2022 RX350 every 192000 kilometers (120K miles).
At the same time, the Lexus USA website recommends the spark plug replacement on the same model at 60K miles. I do not know why there is a difference. We replace them at 120K miles here in Canada and have no problems.
As far as an 'induction service', I do not know what exactly he is referring to. Lexus/Toyota have a product called the 'EFI system service', maybe that is what he is talking about. It is not a bad idea, Lexus recommend it every 50K miles on the product can instructions.
