This is the most affected I've ever been over tv or film. They did so well giving the characters depth, I couldn't help but feel for them. I was invested in their story, and it still hurts so much rewatching the show, even after so many years.
I usually would try and make it seem like I was crying when I watched other shows so that I could feel more empathetic than I am, but that wasn’t necessary for this show. I’ve been crying for 17 days now.
If anyone asks me why I loved this show, I'll present this. I love the medieval fantasy stuff, but I didn't love Merlin for its magic, epic fights or dragons ; it was for the story of ONE friendship, the most genuine I've ever seen on screen and I want to thank them for that. The writers have done well, but Bradley and Colin have done GREAT. ❤🥺
The moment when it shifted from Arthur hugging Merlin to Merlin holding Arthurs lifeless body ond pressing their foreheads together BROKE ME 🥺🥲 but it was truly perfect editing *chefs kiss* 😙🤌
I wish they became cannon, and that Arthur didn't die. Merlin is still to this day waiting for his love to return. It truly is sad😢. Lovely video though ✨

the writing for these two was good but what sold it to me was the chemistry between the actors that permeates into their roles. all those little details, the glances, the stares sometimes, the eyes, the smiles. not enough hair ruffles though and certainly not enough hugs, no not nearly enough hugs
it's one thing to be fed their extraordinary bond, their friendship, their chemistry, maybe bromance over the course of five seasons. but to have it presented in such a concentrated, focused and pooled manner is overwhelming for the senses. Colin is a wonder and a single image from him makes my heart skip a beat every time, but together with Bradley in his Merlin form and the poor little thing goes mush within seconds. I made it through the almost 4mins but now I'm not presentable anymore for a while. ty for that^^

ok. uff. i'm in tears, i hope you're happy about that. this is amazing. i love how every quote/dialogue is connected into the bigger narrative of their relationship, how it makes evident all the recurring themes between them: Merlin making Arthur see he's his friend, Arthur working to accept that, but even before going beyond what his station demanded for a servant, because Merlin was his friend (o whatever word one can use to encapsulate the dimentions of their relationship) the closest person he had in the world; and of course their unconditional love, loyalty and devotion for each other. *inhales* ok, ok. Awwww I just finished the series a couple days ago, Merlin was confirmed by the cast that they think of the story as one of a love story between two men. HOW do people watch Merlin and think that Merlin and Arthur don’t love each other? Their story is so beautiful and it shows how much they will sacrifice for each other, they would die for each other with out a second thought and ugh, beautiful.
I don't think people disagree that they love each other? I think it seems to be mixed thoughts on if it's platonic love or romantic. Personally I think it is pretty easy to ship Merlin with a lot of the other characters. Merthur is a good ship, so is Merlin and Lancelot etc. So as long as the reasoning isn't homophobia, I don't think it matters how people interpret it.
Truly beautiful, I've been coming back to this video for a week now and it just never fails to light me up and also make me so so heart broken as well, Merlin is really the one show that effects me like this even after so many long years!
