My self Jack and good mate Arron, head out for a sunrise snapper hunt, fishing out of Perth Western Australia. Just a couple kiwis having a fish across the ditch.
A smelly burley trail, gloomy weather, a rising tide, full moon, big swell, green water and sure enough many snapper feeding in the shallows!
A session to remember for sure, snapper, tuna, lobsters and a bloody good feed to take home to our family’s!

I think overall the fishing is probably better, as you have multiway, Spanish Mackerel, cobra, coral trout etc. But snapper and kingfish fishing is way better in New Zealand. I went out Thursday in 42 minutes, ten casts ten fish, released 3 over 50 cm ( measured to fork of tail) so 58 cm in Aussie.) And 7 kept. That 83cm fish is 73cm in New zealand about 6 kilos.

Yes we certainly do have it good over here in Aus fishing wise with such a huge variety of fish we can target 😎 but at the same time I miss fishing in NZ a lot, grew up in taranaki and we certainly did have some very good fishing there! Hey mate, thank you for bringing this up, I was hoping someone would so I can do my best to explain my veiws on this situation we have here, all fish that where released in this video where under 50cm in length so had to be released legally. Unsure if you are aware of the current WA snapper rules, how ever we only have a two week window where we are allowed to target/keep them. If you have watched my previous videos I’m huge on catch an release & 99.9% the big snapper get put back if they are in good health. But here’s the issue for me, the government have made the snapper season just two weeks long, with family a full time job, weather etc I’d be lucky to get out twice over those two weeks, one of my greatest joys in being able to catch & proved food for my family, so sadly with such a small window where I’m allowed to keep snapper I’ll be keeping any I catch as long as they are over the size limit & under my bag limit. Fish I would have usually put back won’t be going back during such a short season as at the end of the day I’m out there for enjoyment but more importantly to provide fresh seafood for my family. Cheers for watching and I appreciate the comment I just wanted to put the way I veiw these new rules publicly on this video, in other words I don’t like the new rules and I too would rather see such big beautiful fish swim away but families gotta eat 🎣😅✅🐟

That's crazy rules, we fish all year here in coromandel we keep the fish around 40 cm and let the bigger ones go. And at this time of year a full of roe, so we let them go. And you ask if it compares to New Zealand. Err no
