I was a troubled teen who rode (still rides) motorcycles, and what you assume is correct. You DO shift gears. The foot clan ninjas obviously couldn't find second gear. Fun fact: clutching and shifting are reversed in a motorcycle. Instead of clutching with your foot and shifting with your hand, like in a car, you clutch with your hand and shift with your foot.
Cute April costume. And the whole Konami/Ultra thing was due to Nintendo of America saying they could only put out X number of games a year. Ultra was for circumventing that limit.
A new Erin Plays video after a long day at the office is the best thing in the world to me. Thank you so much for your videos. You have no idea how much they brighten up my day.
I remember those pies. I think I only ever had one but it was good. The filling was green ooze. I had the first NES game and played it a lot. Never did beat it though. I was always fascinated by how the game would kind of glitch between the 2 different enemy sets in buildings.
Peter Laird, the co-creator of the Ninja Turtles is from Western Massachusetts and so TMNT was everywhere here back in the day. His parents used to give out quarters on Halloween taped to a drawing he did. I know I have one somewhere but I have no idea where. Also, those Hostess pudding pies were disgusting. TMNT cereal was also bad. It was just Marshmallow Chex. I kid you not. If you do want to play a really terrible Turtles game, check out the Konami handheld basketball game. I played it a lot back then but it's not good. And yeah, your A O'N cosplay was on point.
That's awesome about Peter Laird. And yeah, the pies looked pretty gross but I imagine the cereal was at least "alright." And there was a handheld TMNT basketball game? Wow.
I also played this game some years ago and i beat all the game without losing a turtle. My favorite ninja characters. And you look nice as April O'Neil.
you do have some similarities with april from TMNT lol I also played that game when I was a kid... after turtles in time (what I also had, played and loved as teenager) I never touched a turtle game again (except HD remake on turtles in time on xbox360, I think) thanks for the great memories and good job on the video 👍
Nice one Erin, this is one of my favorite GB games of all time. When I was a kid I wanted this so badly, but never owned it - until many years later. Classic. Wearing April's yellow jacket during a tmnt let's play shows just how serious you are about your retro gaming vids, great stuff :]
Looks like a pretty good game. I like how in the sewer you suggested the yellow liquid was mustard, I feel like if the nerd was playing it he'd have a different hypothesis as to the nature of that substance.
You can change the color in the Super Game Boy options. The SGB applied color by assigning a color to each grey shade. It used two bits per pixel or four shades. Also Nintendo limited its licensees to 5 games per year. Konami got around this by creating a subsidiary called Ultra Games, in which Ultra (being a corporation) applied to be a Nintendo Licensee and Konami would license the their game to publish, essentially giving Konami a way to double the number of games per year.

Congrats on beating the game the first time you played! I’ve always had a soft spot for this game since getting it as one of my first Game Boy games on my original Game Boy. One of the few Game Boy games I bought back as an adult! Glad you enjoyed it!
LOL you look like April today. Absolutely amazing. My Dad passed away and we had his Viewing tonight. You have made me much happier. Thank you Erin, I wish you all the love.
I'm so sorry to hear that, Joseph! Thanks for always being supportive and I'm so glad my video was able to help a bit through this rough time. My condolences.
Back in 1991, a really rad dude sent in a hidden code to GamePro magazine to make your turtle in this game invisible. GamePro printed the code in their magazine and highlighted it during an episode of their short-lived tv show.
I miss the turtle pies nothing like chewing down on some green Ooze, but it's funny I just got this game last week. This is my fav. game for the gameboy. Love the April jumpsuit.
My dream has always been to make a turtles movie that resembles the original 90s movie! Have to have a the right look and tone that the turtles series has gotten away from! If it ever happens you will be definitely be cast as April O'Neal haha !
I remember TMNT Cereal came with a bowl. I had Michalangelo. We had it for many years and it eventually became a dog bowl lol. The original cereal was basically Rice Chex with Marshmellows.
I was thinking more along the lines of taking her for lunch at McDonald’s (which she seems to love) and chat about our favorite classic games, then spend the rest of the day playing all those classic video games, making sure to order pizza when it came time for dinner lol 🙂
One of my first and favorite GB games that I owned back in the day. The Gameboy can pump out some amazing music. Lots of great soundtracks to be found. Great video as usual!
The original TMNT movie is one of my childhood favorites. And it's actually surprisingly faithful to the early comics. Thanks for the awesome video, Erin!
Also, your musings on the Foot Soldier motorcycle gang seriously made me LOL. They were actually robots in the 1987 cartoon which I think would make for an even cooler ninja motorcycle gang.
This is a really cool video! I played this game a lot so it brought back the feels, and the April costume is totally awesome. I look forward to more enjoyable videos, subscribed!
Hello Erin, do you have a personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? The Son of God. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. - Romans 10:9
I used to play this as a kid. But the one I played more (because it was my very first Game Boy game, together with Super Mario Land) was Turtles III: Radical Rescue. I never made it through the first level. I'd like to see you play this some time.
This. Fuckin'. Game. Of all the games where you could clear the game without completely dying, I had to be stuck learning THIS one. I should have stuck with Operation C. Never played the sequels to FOTFC, kinda glad for it in hindsight. Those long car rides back from New Hampshire with one of those Handy Boy rediculous contraptions with the overhead light, & the magnifier, & the amplification speaker... My old unsightly brick of an old Game Boy looked like the world's most ghettoest cyborg. It was sad looking, but it got the job done.
As a kid, I used to play this game at a friend's house before I had a Gameboy of my own. I remember begging my parents for a GB just for this to no avail. I wouldn't get it until my first under-the-table job, and remember snagging this up once I had the saved.
So I autoplayed your vids because of your voice and got to stay asleep which is very rare you have a great voice perfect amount of energy for your vids in your voice going to sub got another fan sorry for long comment
I've beaten Fall of the Foot Clan so many times. Great video that brought back so many memories! Now, subscribed. Btw, I love your running commentary in your videos and if you ever created a new channel where you make random comments during any given movie, I would totally watch that!!
TMNT cereal was basically corn or rice chex with added turtle shaped marshmallows like Lucky Charms. It even came with a Turtles cereal bowl wrapped to the outside of the box.
Yay, I’ve been looking forward to this video, I loved the Turtles as a kid. I’m pretty sure that in the cartoon the Foot Clan soldiers were all robots.
TMNT games are awesome! I played the hell out of Manhattan Project as a kid and it's still relatively challenging these days. Lots of those games are just endurance levels, trying not to die too many times in any given stage. I'd never seen this game prior to this video and I have to say, for a Gameboy title, it looks pretty deece (graphics-wise) and the sound is not too shabby either. Gameplay looks a tad monotonous, but it's hard to complain given the technology available. Rad video! :)

Love the April O'Neil look Erin 😍😍.
Cute April costume. And the whole Konami/Ultra thing was due to Nintendo of America saying they could only put out X number of games a year. Ultra was for circumventing that limit.
I liked that you dressed up like April.
Dustman319 me too
A new Erin Plays video after a long day at the office is the best thing in the world to me. Thank you so much for your videos. You have no idea how much they brighten up my day.
Shredder shows up "Who's this?". I almost died laughing.
Erin's voice is so friendly and soothing, like your very favorite baked buddy XD
April O Neil in real life :) Man, this brings back memories! Played this on the original game boy back in 2nd grade.......those were the days.
Happy to see you on the trending, you deserve this. You are enjoyable to watch
That is so awesome how you themed yourself to April O'Neal's colours from the 1986 TMNT cartoon :)
Just when I thought she couldn't get any more adorkable, she does an April O'Neal cosplay.
This is the first game I ever played in my life in the early 90ies. Made me a turtles and a gaming fan. Thanks for playing it Erin. :-)
I remember those pies. I think I only ever had one but it was good. The filling was green ooze. I had the first NES game and played it a lot. Never did beat it though. I was always fascinated by how the game would kind of glitch between the 2 different enemy sets in buildings.
5:56 All that's missing is a *Brazzers* logo under Michael Angelo
LMFAO!!! Nice one.
I love the Yellow!! Super cute Erin, i mean, April :)
Peter Laird, the co-creator of the Ninja Turtles is from Western Massachusetts and so TMNT was everywhere here back in the day. His parents used to give out quarters on Halloween taped to a drawing he did. I know I have one somewhere but I have no idea where.

I picked this up a few years ago. It's a great TMNT game. I love the music!
Looks like a pretty good game. I like how in the sewer you suggested the yellow liquid was mustard, I feel like if the nerd was playing it he'd have a different hypothesis as to the nature of that substance.

What a great April O’Neil you make Erin 👍
Talk about Cortana level of hotness, lol.
Congrats on beating the game the first time you played! I’ve always had a soft spot for this game since getting it as one of my first Game Boy games on my original Game Boy. One of the few Game Boy games I bought back as an adult! Glad you enjoyed it!
Wtf, I played the shit out of this game and never beat it!! I may have to try again as an adult now.
Wow Im new here and I felt in love with your channel. I love your gameplay and reactions, Is amazing that old school games are kept alive. Nice vid
Sorry to hear that. Both of my parents have passed away.. I know how that feels. I wish you all my best in your bereavement
I loved Fall of the Foot Clan!
Still waiting for Winter of the Foot Clan and the prequel Summer of the Foot Clan though
Congrats on the trending shoutout!!!!! Loved your channel for a while!
I remember getting this game for Christmas in 1990! Played this one a lot.
Back in 1991, a really rad dude sent in a hidden code to GamePro magazine to make your turtle in this game invisible. GamePro printed the code in their magazine and highlighted it during an episode of their short-lived tv show.
were you that rad dude?
@@damn0knight And does he have a bad 'tude?
I wish I still had my old gameboy and all my games. I played castlevania and turtles ALL the time.
*UA-cam recommended your stuff as a creator on the rise.* I see quite a few interesting videos already. I wish you the best on youtube success.
I really love the thumbnail of you as April O' Neil. Redheads are always my fav type of girls. 😍 Great video!
Congratulations on being the very first Gaming Creator On The Rise!!!
Thank you so much! It's a huge honor.
Good luck! I hope your channel gets huge now!
Looking gorgeous like April O'Neal in the thumbnail. 😔
I miss the turtle pies nothing like chewing down on some green Ooze, but it's funny I just got this game last week. This is my fav. game for the gameboy. Love the April jumpsuit.

Great video Erin. I loved playing the Turtle games, still
l fun flashback games. Looking forward to your next video!
I remember TMNT Cereal came with a bowl. I had Michalangelo. We had it for many years and it eventually became a dog bowl lol.
The original cereal was basically Rice Chex with Marshmellows.
My first GB game I got after I got the system back in 1990.Thanks Erin for the play
very cool video, i love this game and just discovered ur channel. Look forward to more. Kowabunga!!!!!!!
A bar down the street from where I went to college had a Turtles in Time cabinet when it first came out. I dropped many a quarter in it. 😉
Erin as April O’Neil 😍
I was thinking more along the lines of taking her for lunch at McDonald’s (which she seems to love) and chat about our favorite classic games, then spend the rest of the day playing all those classic video games, making sure to order pizza when it came time for dinner lol 🙂
Yeah I didn't wanna be THAT commenter, but she looks super-cute as April O'Neil!
On God!
Just going to say it: damn, she's cute!
@Martin Anderson ...to say the least.
I played this game on so many family car rides. Great game!
One of my first and favorite GB games that I owned back in the day. The Gameboy can pump out some amazing music. Lots of great soundtracks to be found. Great video as usual!
Erin O'neil. xD Good video.=)
The original TMNT movie is one of my childhood favorites. And it's actually surprisingly faithful to the early comics. Thanks for the awesome video, Erin!

Robot motorcycle gang would be out of control, haha. Thanks for watching :D
so in this reality, April O'Neil controls the turtles telepathically like Professor X, and comments to an audience as she does it.
I had totally forgotten about this game! Thanks for bringing me back. I remember thinking the foot clan guys having strangely shaped heads.
In the early 1990s everyone loved the movie. During that time, everything associated with the ninja turtles was considered awesome.
Yowzer!! You make a great April O’Neil. Love the vid.
everytime i watch an erin plays, i answer her questions, out loud.
This is a really cool video! I played this game a lot so it brought back the feels, and the April costume is totally awesome. I look forward to more enjoyable videos, subscribed!
Most adorable April Oneal ever! :3
That was so cool to see you as her. Awesome video.
Thanks for watching :)
Have this and absolutely love it!!! Great review!
6:42 - I totally knew where you were going with this, lol! I laughed hard
I used to play this as a kid. But the one I played more (because it was my very first Game Boy game, together with Super Mario Land) was Turtles III: Radical Rescue. I never made it through the first level. I'd like to see you play this some time.
I feel like when the OASIS becomes real, this is going to be the channel I watch and re-watch to learn all things 80's
Great video erin... can't go wrong with TMNT ...btw I remember eating the hostess pies when I was a kid..👌😉
This was a fun one, thanks for the upload. I gotta look at more gameboy games myself i think.
This. Fuckin'. Game. Of all the games where you could clear the game without completely dying, I had to be stuck learning THIS one. I should have stuck with Operation C. that April O'Neil cosplay's hot like Peperoni Pizza
This was my first TMNT game I got as a kid. This was followed up by Back to the Sewers, which was the best TMNT game on the gameboy.
Learned something new about Konami and Ultra! That's a cool tidbit. I hope it's okay to say you're like....totally adorable!
awesome April
look
I really like your random thoughts during your play through of this game. Fun to listen to! :-)

April O'Erin! Great let's play! :)
omg I just notices the yellow shirt, haha damn you Erin
This made me smile. One of my few positive childhood memories.
TMNT cereal was basically corn or rice chex with added turtle shaped marshmallows like Lucky Charms. It even came with a Turtles cereal bowl wrapped to the outside of the box.
Congrats on being featured creator! Old school games are addicting.
5:55 - Why does Mikey look like he's holding back the Hershey squirts? XD
Yay, I’ve been looking forward to this video, I loved the Turtles as a kid. I’m pretty sure that in the cartoon the Foot Clan soldiers were all robots.
She's definitely high off weed 😂💯 awesome
That CosPlay tho, on point.
I like what you did with the thumbnail did you try to look like April o' Neil 😂👍
2:46 - Literally some of the BEST music on the Gameboy period.
ooooo you look rather fetching in that banana raincoat.
You would make a good April O'Neal in Cosplay I could see that
TMNT games are awesome! I played the hell out of Manhattan Project as a kid and it's still relatively challenging these days. Lots of those games are just endurance levels, trying not to die too many times in any given stage.
