Pretty clever back and forth exchanges that play into the eye wink mansplaing bit at the start. The bulk of the episode then has this tone throughout and it was Rather comedic. Intentional or not. This was good to see. You are naturally gifted and the dynamics between you two would pull anyone familiar with the content in.
Erin: I hate the beeps... AVGN: You bet your ass!! Fun to see you play through, with Mike along for the ride as well. I still revisit all of Mike's TMNT videos.
Erin you did an awesome job! My brother beat this game as a kid but would never help me. It's nice to have someone help you out. Keep up the great work!
Love that you mentioned the Indiana Jones quote at the end lol. Indy taking over Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom soon... different story buy wonder if that will still be at the end 🤔
Since we are playing just the tip here I have a fun tip. With the boomerangs throw them and then switch turtles. As a kid I would divide up the boomerangs between my turtles since they come back.
After clicking to your latest video content I remember this TMNT game from my childhood. It was sure frustrating and hard in some way, but a lot of level music were great. Not long time ago I bought TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection on Steam, so I can try to play through this TMNT game. 🙂
I love this game. I have an unpopular opinion about it though: I hate the boomerang weapon. The reason is this example: You're throwing the boomerangs but taking many hits (like in the last level). Just before you die to switch to another turtle that has the scroll weapon. And that turtle may accidentally collect the thrown boomerang which will replace his scrolls.
I love seeing this duo with you and Mike and it is always fun seeing you guys play NES games and I also hate that beeping noise in the TMNT game as it sounds just like my alarm beeping noise that I thought for a moment was going off when I heard it.
I got this game for Christmas of 1989 and unfortunately, I GAVE UP ON IT. 😂 I had tremendous trouble trying to defuse the bombs under water before the timer ran out. The one time, I did it, I couldn't figure out what was next while driving the turtle van. That was the end of the game for me.
The speedruns of this game are INSANE. The precision required and the nuances required for locating the Technodrome (because of the RNG) are pretty nuts. Then again, there's also LackAttack and his incredible speedruns of TLoZ1 and so forth.
I purchased the Cowabunga collection on release, but haven’t given it a thought in a long while. This motivates me to pick it up again. Great video guys…loving the energy
After the childhood traumatic experience playing this hellish game.. as an adult I did go back and eventually beat the game. No cheat, I recorded it too heck yeah.
A Tip on the dam for playing without so many restarts. The pizza inside the dam comes back if you go back in, similar to going back into the sewer in the first stage. After a single turtle gets caught fight back through the top floor for the full pizza and you can at least have two healthy turtles for a retry at the bombs.
There are so many comments here loving the co-stream and the interplay between Erin & Mike, and I'd like to add one more to the list. Great job to you both! I hope to see many more videos from the two of you in the future.
Great game for the time it was released, very challenging in some parts. Finally was able to complete it a couple years ago thanks to all these cool YT videos.
TMNT is one of the toughest games ever. Especially that dam stage. I never finished the game because of it. Konami / Ultra games loved messing with its audience. Btw excellent teamwork 😊 🐢🐢🐢🐢🐀 🍕
made the first video of my stream setup and console collection, almost finishing my studies at DJ school, signed up for extreme driving courses, how do you like it?
just FYI if you get the boomerang for the wrong turtle you can give it to another turtle. take about a minute or two but you throw 3 of them change turtles and let the other one catch them. So on and so on until all have been thrown. TMNT is one of my favorite games. Batman is my ultimate favorite
When I watch certain people play this,it makes me feel special that I beat it with no used continues. But Mike is extra special on what he can do with this game. Beating it with one turtle is absolutely insane. Hes gotta be a beast in the bedroom 😂
Just one tip, it didn't matter that you accidentally gave Donatello the boomerangs. You can have Donnie throw them, then switch to another turtle and have them catch the boomerangs. Doing that then gives that turtle however many boomerangs you had them catch. That's just another reason why I feel the boomerang is the best weapon in the game, even over the scroll. You potentially have unlimited of them and you can share them between characters. Also, try to preserve Donnie, i you can. Use Mike for the dam part as he is the most useless turtle (his weapon is horrible, he's better if you get him a different weapon.). Believe it or not, all the turtles have different strengths, and they get stronger as they get weaker in health. For example, Leo and Mikey are roughly about the same health, able to do half a square of damage to a boss. However, if they get below half health, they become as strong as Donatello and do a full square per hit. Raph is the second strongest. He does roughly half a square of damage but can defeat a wider variety of enemies than Mikey or Leo. When he's below half health, he's slightly stronger than even Donnie, doing roughly a square and a half of damage. If you have a turbo button on attack...or just have turbo-fast fingers, Raph can actually be really useful. Donatello is the strongest turtle, doing a square of damage every hit. When he gets down to half health, he does around 2 squares of damage. I really don't like using him in any level where I have to deal with "jumping" enemies like those pink/orange bug things, or the dang moths because his weapon can be kinda slow sometimes.
I played this game back in 90s in nes clone game console with 3in1 game card. In addition with this tougher game we can’t pause or save in clone console
Some people call it mansplaining, most people who don't suffer from inferiority complexes just call it talking. Saying something someone already knows is a great thing. Gives each person the chance to establish common ground and mutual understandings, making cooperation toward shared goals easier. If you ever think less talk is needed and you're not in a library, you're being anti-social. If you don't want people to talk to you, stay away from people.
Or just advice. Unsolicited advice can be annoying but obviously Erin opted to have Mike help her & likes it. It's not up to anyone else to judge whether or not that's appropriate.
