      I was sad hearing his retirement. He said last year when he didn't play, "I'm not retired unless I say it." He still had some skills left in his tank so I thought I guess he will play next season if some team out there wants him. Now that he announced it officially, it was like, it came out of nowhere. If he could've wait a little longer for this season to be over so that he could see if any team wants him for 2023-24 season. If no team wants him, even after the next season started, then that's the time he could've retired officially.

    In his prime he was insane. PG ball handling with great speed, shooting abilities of a SG, athletisicm of a SF and rebounding and strength of a PF/C. Defense could have been better at times, but he was easily one of the most interesting players to watch.

    We just broke his signature jab step jumper down on our channel... People forget he is a footwork master, it is so fun to watch him toy with defenders... Melo was BORN TO SCORE!

      Even if he wasn't injured. Kobe is old. He can still score but that's about it. And the Lakers don't really have anything for him when he comes back.

      Stephen Barnett tomás zazzali You guys do realize he's just coming off one the best seasons of his career? The man is an absolute monster and he's wasting away his peak years playing for a terrible Knicks team.
      It's not Melo's fault his team can't even get into it's offense until the 15 second mark (which is a big reason why Melo isolates a lot)

    • @TheUndeadLegend7
      @TheUndeadLegend7 10 років тому +10

      +anthony vasquez you shoud watch some games man, he's an assisting machine, nearly every game he falls short for like 1-3 assists max. for triple double, this year he and the knicks are grinding for wins and play-offs... Don't get me wrong or anything I just hate a little bit when you guys are thrash talking but with nonsense.

      Don Yeah bro i agree with you now after seeing more knicks games .. hes had good court vision forever but never seemed to make use of it..But Man i feel like he is on the decline hes clearly lost some athleticism and cant score 25 in his sleep like he used to..Hes not as consistently efficient and his team is not even in the plaoff picture rite now,,I hope he turns it around cuz hes always been one of my favorite players growing up

    • @dp4893
      @dp4893 8 років тому +1

      anthony vasquez for me too, he is still my fav player , but i disagree with you at this point,cause he doesn't need to score 25+ every game now bcs he got porzingis,afflalo, williams etc. who will score 20 or more, at leat one of them, so he can play more of a team play with some ball movement although he is known for his iso play stile, like last season he needed to score that amonut of point we're talking about because knicks last season were just terrible,we passed our wins number in an about 50 games less than last season, so, imo he doesn't need to and doesn't want to score 25+ for almost every game bcs he knows he's not alone on the court finally :)

    Carmelo scored the most point (62), making most of his shots.People say lebron is better,when have u seen lebron put that amount of points on the board in 1 game.Kd was second.Heat was Wades team first sooooo lebron is secondary 2 Wade.

    Never liked Carmelo... I thought that he wasn't worth paying attention to, but I also felt the same about Lebron. Since I was a kid in the 2000's I really liked Wade, Iverson, Hamilton, and TMac (when he was on the magic), oh and I thought Kobe was gonna surpass MJ. My opinion now... Wade, Kyrie, CP3, John Wall, KD. as for Kobe I think he at least matched MJ because Kobe has had crazy competion in all these years (i.e. wade, Lebron, Melo, Rose, TMac, Prince, and MJ himself)

      MMC lol I hate the term "scorer". does how great you are as a scorer depend on how many points you average? then if so its Jordan. or maybe it's the fact that you can score every which way...then you're saying shaq will never be a good a scorer as Carmelo because he can't shoot. the term itself is biased

    Carmelo is kind of in a win win situation. I mean since his team is so god awful and everyone knows their not going to win, all carmelo has to do is go out play hard and have fun till the season is over with no pressure. Then go out and get a big time contract after the season is over.

      He's going to be crushed in the media, his legacy will be destroyed. He probably won't become a hall of famer. He already is rich, who cares if he makes more money. The knicks have way more talent, then what there record indicates, and he has to take a lot of the blame for that. Remember when he left Denver, everybody thought they would become one of the worse teams in the league? But they have done pretty much as good as they were with him.

    • @irwinthepantydropperextror4708
      @irwinthepantydropperextror4708 10 років тому

      It will be forgotten when the season is over, and even then if it is still in people's minds. All he has to do is win win win the in his next destination. Then it surely will be forgotten. But it might sting personally since New York is his birth town. But next season's big paycheck will surely cure that affliction.

    it is so disappointing to see all that athleticism he's lost from bak then. (its now 2014) but Carmelo Anthony is EASILY the most talented player since michael jordan... yes... look at those plays... its a joke ... lebron looks average compared 2 carmelo back then
    Phil Jackson... teach this man to play team ball ... run the triangle (which is a way that makes isolation ball more efficient) get some rebounders and you have the second most talented player of all time Carmelo Anthony... TRUE TRUE... but can he be the second best of all time? I cant believe all these "experts and fans" cant see the extraordinary level of talent that Carmelo has... Im dead serious and dead right ON POINT... Carmelo... lets ELEVATE dont just score anymore... BALL

      Wow, delusional. I get it, you love Melo - doesn't make him 2nd best ever. My favorite player of all time is Dominique Wilkins, but he didn't play much defense and he didn't have any help on his team. Kinda like Melo. Both phenomenal scorers, but that's about it. Not even close to top 10 all time, let alone #2. Get a clue, man.
