    Frank Underwood is a modern adaption of Shakespeare's Richard III. It's amazing how adaptable and relevant Shakespeare's works have remained.

    • @SaintsBro217

      Richard III was a real person. So really, Frank is based on a historical figure.

    • @slothfromthegoonies8201
      @slothfromthegoonies8201 8 років тому +66

      Not Spiderman Frank is based on a interpretation of a historical figure. Shakespeare was writing a long time after the death of Richard III, and most historians now agree that Shakespeare's portrayal of Richard was unfair, and essentially amounted to propaganda.

    • @EmptyMan000
      @EmptyMan000 8 років тому +5

      What isn't propaganda when it comes to historical accounts? The only reason Shakespearean works are so relevant is because people keep creating derivatives of them. Kind of displays a lack of originality. Just touching up an old design.
