Lol thank you 😊 I wasn’t a big fan of the suitcase connectors at first but I think I’m getting the hang of it and the track plan was definitely fun one to do I got most of the idea from the Salt Lake City route track plan 😁 and a whole lot of imagination from my crazy 😜 brain 🧠 😂
Hey buddy did some watching of your Video's some back in the day & to refresh my ole knoggin' of what I may of missed Shawn Damn we're has the time Gone whooo Eeee 2 years & some of Uncle Mikes Mike Fifers Video's were 5, 8, & 10 years ago but these Video's Shawn is like a good refresh of the sole plus I get to see how your layout grew & kept growing but in this video is how you set your Turntable which gave me thought how I was going to set up mine I have to watch how I do my construction work on it living in an apt still I'm ready & so is my Dad for own place but I think I did good using the poster board & matching the level of my existing layout & powering the table separately of the extension Tracks with Nce AR10 it notches up the level of prototypical realizym, my first set up Shawn i had the Tracks pulling off power through the Table but as the table turned the Engines shut Down Mike at Spring Creek which is a Big N scale Guy plus owns part of the family business he said Ron why not isolate the Extension tracks from the table then power them downstream which I used the extension track power leads & it lets me idle the Engines like at the fueling Racks or Sanding Racks plus the Engines in the shop I can add right behind the shop extra tracks plus I'm chewing the Idea of a double crossover & just to the North of the table I'm thinking of adding some bench space hopefully if it fits, 1 or 2 sections for 1 or 2 Round houses & I'll post Video's so you can see my progress but my progress is by motivation Shawn watching your videos & other Guys adding good stuff to there layouts, My progress getting stuff done on my layout has moved slowly but whoo I'm getting there... I wanted to pass on I've installed 2 double crossovers & we hooked some more power to layout with a Brand New SB5 by NCE but we ain't done Shawn 😊 I'm saving up for the Big Dog from NCE the Power House Pro I want to end not having enough power on tap! When I want Engines idling & moving I don't have to worry about the System doing 🙄 the what in h are thinking i can't pull that off so we're gonna go big but a little at a time.. Shawn you got a Great Layout & packrat Trains I'd to visit some day with ya Shawn if possible give me the Shawn Pacific tour! Take Care & Model on Brother & we're hoping we can find that SP caboose got some cool one's but I want the koda Chrome for sure or the all red SP.. Allen D
Hi Alan, thanks for the message brother I can’t wait to see how your turntable and roundhouse turns out. I look forward to seeing all your progress. Just have fun take your time. 👍 you rock Brother have a great weekend.
So the turntable install was fairly simple? For DCC? I’m going to get one but haven’t purchased it yet. Nice rolling stock pick up! Closest model shop to me is around 3 hours away :(
Hi John I totally recommend the kato turntable because it is so simple I was worried at first but as I open everything up started putting it together it was pretty easy for DCC and I know what you mean about hobby shops being so far away I wish we had one in every town It seem like when I was younger there was a hobby shops in every larger town now you cannot find hobby shops anymore thanks for your 😀
Hi Sean nice rolling stock. I discovered something recently maybe its been done for a while but it is new too me and that is by adding a light coat of tamiya flat clear on my rolling stock gives them a better used look. I only do it on the rolling stock still dont know how I do it on the locomotives so many small parts.
Sean, so is the roundhouse the way you have it using supplied black insulated rail joiners or normal metal and grey ones? I’m surprised you don’t have a Ar1 wired in?
Hi I’m not familiar with the Ar1 wire but so far I use the gray and metal rail joiners I don’t know if that’s gonna be an issue later on If it does I will put the Black insulated rail joiners in I had the Roundhouse and turntable all hooked up but I have some adjustments to do still on lining everything up because I had to cut into the pink foam so the round house and turn table isn’t completely leveled
@@seanpacificrailroad3700 look at streamlinebackshopservices kato turntable video see what I’m talking about with auto reverser I’m confused why you didn’t need one but happy if it works
Hey Sean, Can you tell me if you have a kato 4-8-4 like the FEF or Broadway 2-8-2 . I need to know what steam fits on this little turntable before I pick one up
Well done lad! Love those SD60's!
Love me some "suitcase" connectors. Nicely done. I really like your track plan.
