I wanna cry. This game scared me so much but I loved it 😭. I remember not being able to pass the library level so I started putting in random passwords and ended up on the last level. I wish I could play again.
That library level was a beast, but I finally got past it. I remember fighting some badies and they were trying to throw potions at me. Maybe that was a different game.
Some One lol same! 😂😂 i still remember clearly this barbie GBA game is the only barbie game that i didn’t finish even at the very first level bcs i was too afraid to play it 😂
Omg nooo when I saw this my heart breaks because I realized how old I am now.. I will always love it and I wish I could play this again. This is my childhood. And the music haha! Better than anything
I remember playing this when I was young. English isn't my first language, so back then I had no idea what the princess was saying and I never really finished the game. I always got bored after 10 minutes of freestyling
15:39 I love this interaction. He screams and runs from Barbie in complete terror just to stand a foot away and lob glass bottles at her face. Why does he have an infinite supply? Is it wine? Is he the keeper of the castle wine cellar? So many questions. And of course Barbie's strategy is amazing, just standing there and deflecting the bottles with a flimsy bug net and goading him into stepping on them, which he falls for over and over. My favourite part is how he keeps running PAST her and jumping up and down, like he's doing some kind of mad frenzied dance. They never hit each other directly, considering themselves above such unsubtle brutality. It is a battle of wits between two complete morons. Truly one of the video game boss fights ever made.
I think the bottles have poison, not wine, since this character in the movie is the one that gave Rowena the poison to kill the king. It also makes sense then that it hurts Genevieve (the player) when she touches it. I do agree that its a battle of morons haha, just like the battle with the guard boss that just stamps with the wall and the battle with Desmond, in which you throw boxes at each other XD and come to think about it, the final battle is basically just you returning wind blows to Rowena (kind of like in the movie). Still some fun time though
as one who grew up playing this, this is undoubtly one of the scarier Barbie Games. This is basically a hunt for your sisters in a magical world, once your sanctuary (if we follow the movie canon), and going up against the Duchess who most likely seems to have also taken over the magical world, not satisfied with poisoning your father. This game has done a good job with the eerie portrayal of Genevieve's lone journey through the magical world to save her family. Aside from her sisters, you barely receive any human interaction in-game, which makes Genevieve's journey all the more unsettling, but she has help from her sisters, the shoes and tools, in order to save the day. A good game nonetheless.
YES I remember playing the beginning of the game over and over bc I couldn't walk over that gap in between the doors 😭 had no idea I could change the shoes back then 😂😂
i had the same random memory pop into my head. had to come back to see if i ever made it to the end of the game cause i can't remember what it looked like
SKSKS I REMEMBER THIS. i was too scared to get past the second room with the vases, then when i got to the golden place, i was too scared of the boss at the end of the first world.
Am I the only who never got scared of this game? In fact, I was addicted to this. I do understand that most 8-bit musics do sound creepy. But hey, you'll get used to it. I remember having a pretty hard time defeating the final boss. I didn't know there was a trick that made it much easier. Also, the running shoes made the stilt shoes and the ribbon shoes look like noobs lol.
Ohhhhhhhhhh this game ughhhhhhhhh!!!! Oh I remember playing this for hours to try and solve those puzzles. Brings back memories, especially the background music
Man, I think this had to have been my favorite GBA game when I was a girl! I always liked how you could alternate between dresses to get different powerups.
this game was so simple but so much fun, i remember spending hours on this as a kid and getting excited over how every new dress gave you a new ability, it was so much fun. i miss it so much
the music in this game is so unnecessarily scary? i remember starting the game once, getting an overwhelming sense of dread, fear, and what my little five year old self understood as pure evil, and never playing it again. it genuinely terrified me 😭

I (a 22 year old woman) recently replayed this game. It was insanely nostalgic but it also brought back one gripe with the game that I had as a kid: WHY DO FALLON AND ASHLYN GIVE YOU THE RIBBON? Yes, I was overthinking it as a child and I'm overthinking it now, but all of the other power ups make sense: the three younger sisters catch bugs, the twins like walking on stilts, the sisters that play Croquet give you croquet mallets, Courtney reads all the time and Blair enjoys horseback riding and sports. Fallon and Ashlyn have nothing in common with their movie counterparts as far as I can tell.
I remember playing this, but I never got to finish it, and I don't remember much of it and it just really came to mind, making me want to search, boyy am I thankful
I love how In the movie figuring out the pattern is a whole big thing but in GBA she just walks across the floor and accidentally hits it like a normal human being.
