i dont think you understand how vague my google searches were to finally unlock this memory. absolutely the most nostalgic game for me, its been about 16 years since ive even thought about this and watching this was SO NICE
Mine was: barbie gem game & prince ken turns to stone (man, I got the name completely wrong pfft- prince stephan indeed) I guess I mostly remember the whole prince stone thing and the gems you had to collect in each area, I completely forgot that this was a Rapunzel thing with Mother Gothel and the dragon haha-
@@avaelysedo25 Same. An add for a makeover game triggered the memory and I spent an hour googling vague terms until I finally found it! Must have been at least 18 years since I played this.
I am speechless. my bedroom has not changed and i am sitting at the same desk where my PC used to be years ago.. and i can so vividly see little me sitting in this chair playing this game and i actually remember thinking that it was kinda scary.. and the sound of the brush when you swipe and it does a little jingle immediately made my jaw drop i cannot tell you how many times i played this
Omg what a core memory. I played this with my childhood friend at her house. We would squeeze into one chair together and play this over and over again 🥹. Time flies. Thanks for uploading
I was really scared but also liked to do the part where we have to put the stones that we've collected onto the prince's crown to break the spell😭😭 his face was so close to the screen😭 but I guess the dark academia aesthetic inspiration really came from this game as well huh lol
Holy fuck this was literally my favourite game as a kid and I was a cringey little tomboy who denounced any and everything that could be categorized as girly. Throughout the years I would recall little memories from this game like the painting and the maze and it was so relaxing for me despite being so simplistic. I finally decided to just Google “Barbie computer game flower maze” and this was the video to pop up. It feels like I’ve played it just yesterday all the memories came back so fresh 😂😂 Childhood nostalgia is literally something else
"I was a cringey little tomboy who denounced any and everything that could be categorized as girly." dude same. but then i would remember playing these games and watching barbie 😂
Dont beat yourself up 🤭 children always played pretend, and try to not be hypocritical. Just because someone is a tom boy, it doesn't mean they can't also like some girly stuff, like barbie games.
I played this game like everyday, almost 15 years ago. This brings back soooo many memories. I remember called my dad at his office just bcs the game didnt load. Lol.
I saw a post on IG that reminded me of this and had to make sure I didn't like, dream this shit up because the memory was that old. The intro to this game was the best when I was 4 years old lmfao
When I say I’ve been trying to find this game for 15 years based on exclusively my memories of the mosaic game play, know I am having my life changed to finally find it through this video
I'm literally writing an essay on this game and how it subverts patriarchal expectations in a video game - this is literally the epitome of feminism in video games
If you ever post it or feel comfortable sharing it…I would love to read it! I almost wrote an essay in college on Barbie Horse Adventures and ended up going a different direction but I think about these two games a lot
Today is the day I finally find out what this game is after DECADES long search. Every time I try to search it up at 9yo, 13 yo, 16 yo, and even 18 yo I could never find it… but now, at the age of 23 I have finished my quest. I mourned the day I lost you
I loved this game when I was little! The tattered thrones and music used to scare me. Glad to know i wasn’t the only kid scared by such a cute game lol
I remember playing the game on the old computer 🖥 🖱 🖨 ⌨️ 🖲️ 💽 💾 when I was a girl when I grew up in the village of Burley in Wharfedale in Yorkshire in England in the UK in the past years.
I remember my family left me and my sister at their friends house.. and their children let us play it for few minutes... This is one of my happiest moments that I won't forget... I didn't know the name of the game or anything i just know it was about Barbie.... Now after 13 year .. i found it 🤝
BROO. you don’t understand omgg, the nostalgia i have with this game. decorating the rooms in the castle w creating everything w peace was so much fun as a kid! I’m chocked up looking at this cuz so many best times I had playing this game! I miss it so much and wish to have it again!!
i found my cd for this game that i first got in maybe 2nd grade or something.. needless to say i am in fact downloading it onto my pc again as a 20 year old😭😭😭

Omg I’m in actual tears this brought back memories I didn’t even know existed, I just knew it in the back of my mind I lived the creepy but cute and explorative aspect to this game 😭😭 I’m feeling so happy and nostalgic
If anyone is having trouble opening this heres a small tip, not sure if this will resolve others problems though since they are all different but. This game only works on a 1 screen display, I had 2 monitors and displaying 2 different things made it crash (In my case I had this and crome open on 2 different screens). When I switched it to only display 1 screen it worked! I assume the issue was because this was made in the early 2000s that this was made to only display on 1 screen. Also I'm so happy I was able to download my childhood game today!
I remember that the archievment sounds scared me so much as a child, even more than the broken main stair, I'm surprised I've never had nightmares with the stairs bqfjks even I loved the aesthetic, now I see from where I love liminal spaces
oh my gosh i used to love playing this game on my elementary school old pc, i remember putting on those huge gray puffy headphones and ignoring everything else when i heard the music of this game come on
The flood of satisfaction that filled me when I heard the music play as the paintbrush painted...
Vivint girls smart fashion and friends fun
This made me feel something for the first time in 18 years
Same I'm a guy and enjoyed this lol
You know, the graphics aren't too bad considering how old the game is lol
every time i hear the word 'mosaic' i think about this game. every single time for 16 years.
I've always had trouble in the garden maze.
Same! That’s where I first heard the word.
ME TOO OH MY GOD
me with the word masquerade
oh my God I'm not the only one 😭

@@Diamond1234I FOUND MY PEOPLE 😭
Had to go to Reddit to beg for help. My friend who loves Barbie didn’t even believe me 😢
The fact that I still know the ENTIRE opening song shows how much I adored this game. 😭 I would give anything to play it again!
THE PRINCE TURNED TO STONE?
i wish i could be friends with everyone in this comment section, this game means everything to me im so happy i found it again

This game creeped me out when I was younger not gonna lie 😂
I rlly scared when i saw the prince face 😂😂 his eyes is so creepy
Same! I always get creeped out when living things turn to stone and that was in a lot of media growing up as a 90s kid.
I FINALLY FOUND THE GAME I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS A TODDLER
Samara Lenhardt aame but I had it stuck in my dieing quarantine
You don't have to yell like that hippo kid.
This game deserves a spot in the hall of fame
Agreed!!!
This brought back nostalgic memories! I’m married now, but I still remembered the theme song and every dialogue. Thanks for uploading ♥️
Fun fact: Gothel is voiced by the same woman who voiced Poison Ivy from Batman: The Animated Series.
I played this game like everyday, almost 15 years ago. This brings back soooo many memories. I remember called my dad at his office just bcs the game didnt load. Lol.
that painting sound brought back such happy memories i forgot i had

46:15 the stepmother’s face always creeped me out as child, so I would move Barbie to hide it behind the maze wall until it went away lol
bro this shit just broke my heart lmaooo i wish i was 8 again😭😭😭😭
I remember having to turn the music off during the maze section where you got close to Stephan. It scared me lol

I really liked the rug design music.
Low key the best 2000's girl game. Much better than the swan lake one that also has similair premise.
The memories! Used to play this when I was little
I used to play this game when I was little, my dad always used to buy me games and this was one of my favorites. Thank you for the video and the link.

OK but this game was the original Homescapes ☠️
Every game should have a musical introduction like this. I want Minecraft Steve to serenade me about killing the ender dragon.
I remember playing this CDROM game as a kid. Didn’t get the chance to finish the game though. Glad to see this so I know how it played out.
It's funny that as a kid I loved this game for some reason and I ain't even a girl 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
I woke up thinking about the song that plays when you use the magic paintbrush. I used to watch my little sister play this game all the time
