Whitby Goth Weekend October 2023 Full Walking Tour | [4K]

We went to Whitby on goth weekend this year and made a full walking tour of it. You will love this video and please watch till end as it is full of surprises.
Whitby Goth Weekend is an alternative music festival held in Whitby. The event consists of two nights of live bands, and three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) of alternative trade stalls at the Whitby Leisure Centre, and Whitby Brunswick Centre.
The term "Whitby Goth Weekend" is sometimes used as a generic term to describe events during the week in Whitby as a whole, although the name of the event and its associated logo are registered trademarks of Jo Hampshire of Top Mum Promotions. Holy smokes! I would quickly become unsettled and aggravated in the midst of such a pressing crowd. I like open space.
What I found very agreeable was the fact that no one (or very near to no one) was smoking. (I did see one woman appearing to vape.) Was there some ordinance in effect for the event, or is it indeed the case that smoking is becoming a rarity?
If this was, say, in the 1970s, the air would be thick and hazy for all the burning tobacco. I grew up in that world, and despised it.

You missed the actual Goths. Whitby Goth Weekend / Tomorrow's Ghosts Festival happens at the Spa or up at the Brewery. It's a music festival. None of these dress-ups posing around the streets are Goths. What you've covered here is Whitby Halloween Fancy Dress Weekend. Goths do not wear costumes; we look the same every day. These people dress up once or twice a year in order to get photographed and filmed. We avoid going into town during the day as it's completely taken over by the fancy dressers and photographers and is just unbearable nowadays. I would love it if, just once, someone uploaded a video of the actual Goth festival. The Mission headlined at the Spa on Friday night. That's where the Goths were, not posing around the streets in Halloween costumes.

I disliked Whitby and the Goths; the place I found wet and the people rude. They had the fine qualities which bore me - thrift and industry and long-faced holiness, and the young women are mostly great genteel boisterous things who are no doubt bedworthy enough if your taste runs that way. (One acquaintance of mine who had a Goths clergyman’s daughter described it as like wrestling with a sergeant of dragoons.) The men I found solemn, hostile, and greedy, and they found me insolent, arrogant, and smart.
