Appreciate the content I'm planning a trip for this year and I love learning the culture and understanding how to move around there, I will be around the Santo domingo area so this helps. Cant wait for the next upload I love these videos
I am from Dominican Republic. I agree most of your points of view. I wolud add that once you land here, at the airport you will find a currency exchange store/office, please DO NOT change your US$ because will give you less DR Pesos than you for sure would get in other offices like banks etc.. It is kind of rap Off. I fully recomend get a taxi pay in dollars and ask to the driver to take you to the next bank or currency offices outside of the airport. I was in Brazil and I had the same experience trying exchange US Dollars for Brasilian currency
Caribbean hotel in Santo Domingo has rooms from $14 a night. There are also backpacker hostels with dorm beds from. $9 a night. There are also cheap public transportation.
Very true but they closed their borders with the whole COVID-19 thing. However as of right now they are set to reopen their borders around the 19th of April.
That ship if you stay in the hood bro like Gualey...Spend about $100 to $150 a night and you be staying in nice places so they won’t be any complains man..
I don't know where I live in heaven in paradise, Dominican and every time this land of my soul surprises me, Quisqueya La Bella, the most beautiful country in the world. Dominican Rep.
I’m Dominican living in the US and you are on point bro. Air bnb in the piantini or naco area are great as. I usually stay in that area every year. Google map works fantastic also. Blue mall great to visit and have drink at the JW Marriott roof. Thanks
Very good video I agree with all except the rain part When it rains it pours hard for hours (in my experience) Food is good and great job explaining the currency and Claro is also used in Colombia
Hi Sly, I asked this question on your last video that you posted and I hope you can answer it here: 1) What method do you use to record videos while walking? 2) What kind of camera do you use to record videos? 3) What kind of laptop/desktop do you have? You have given me the final push to travel and I have watched all of your videos. I would really appreciate if you can answer. Thank you.
U for got about the messed up laws and police. In the Dominican Republic anybody can easily land in jail for the simplest of crimes and the system is sometimes used by the government and police officials to punish people for personal vendettas. By some estimates 80% of prisoners in jail have not yet been sentenced.
Great video but the absolute worst clubs are in zona colonial. Actually i hate when i see tourists spend so much time in zona colonial. Youre simply missing out on so much...especially if youre a single man. Great vid tho.
James Francis Harken It was very simple to set up about 10 minutes online. Basically it connects you to the best cellular provider available in about 130 different countries automatically. When I landed in Panama I only had to turn my phone on and before I even got to customs I had service with their best provider. They have a $70 unlimited data plan and the $20. I used the $20 which I think is like 3gb of data. I used it for Ubers, WhatsApp, emails, google maps etc for 7 days and came no where near going over. They also allow you to pause the service up to 6 months if you are not traveling.
Now we cooking. Best time to drop video is now, everyone is looking for content. Is it more expensive than colombia? Do they have good airbnb system like colombia? Boys want to go down for some fun when this virus is over with.
@@airportatheist1645 I lived in domincian for a couple of month before and lived in Colombia. And Dominican is behind in alot. I just wanted to know if things change. So because you are in a different time zone nothing can be the same. I hope you are not the face of Dominican because
Sam Choon It’s about not cluttering the pipes and disposing of the used paper in a hygienic manner, just like you will see if first world countries like Spain and Italy. It is more common in older constructions.
Sam Choon I can see how it’s off-putting but one would take all the precautions necessary to keep it wrapped in the bathroom waste basket. I had the same issue when I was in Guanacaste. Costa Rica and it wasn’t a big deal since they too have different pipes in the older homes. It’s either that or create a greater problem down the line. Same issue exists in some older houses in Florida, where they still have septic tanks, like in some parts of south Florida and central orlando.

Have you tried google fi? I used it in 3 different countries and it worked flawlessly with no sim required.

Yes they do. I've stayed at 3. Loved em all. Just check out the ones with high Airbnb reviews. They're usually on point.

Wait a minute, so you wipe your ass but don't flush the TP? That is nasty.

@@Sevi718 So you dispose it in the trash bag? When I was in Colombia and Costa Rica (stayed in AirBnB) I had no issues with flushing it.
