Its great because we are both in the sameish year, I just wrapped up 59 on mine and managed to get someone into space at the very end of the year (legit Dec 27th lol) and this series is soooooooooooooooooooooooo good, I had some things I had to do when I saw it post and I haven't stopped thinking about it until I finally got to watch it, and boy was it worth it!!
I tend to detach the avionics from my cam 2 sats once they’re in orbit and oriented towards the sun. Relying on timing to fire the retro burn for the sample return.
Beardy and I agreed they must remain controllable as a rule, since being able to point the camera at a target makes sense - alas he has deep space avionicsand I dont, but that will be researching immediately after capsules are unlocked

Further additions of large moveable panels, hereafter referred to as airbrakes or spoilers, to slow down the vehicle have greatly aided soviet efforts in reusing this craft for numerous missions, with predictions in the internal memos of it being capable of nearly 180 000 metres altitude on it's flights. In addition, the Glaz and Ka programs are both now serving as testbeds for crewed flight at high altitudes, furthering research in this field. With the addition of improvements to their primary launch vehicle, in addition to improving the structural strength of their launch pad at baikonur that has been used in the Luna Flights, crewed space flight is expected soon. Speaking of the Luna flights... further attempts to delay these missions has been unsuccessful. The engineers have managed to improve the simplicity of their engines to reduce build costs as a result of the first failure, which also means that any... alterations made prior to launch are easier to pick up on. However. They were not able to find the... ahem. Misplaced configuration suggestion for their RD-105, which did result in a failure of their first proper scientific satellite in achieving lunar orbit however, so I consider that a win. Will continue operations at current intensity, while expanding the scope into additional areas of the soviet regime... two early piece of information on that front, is the contract for a gargantuan quantity of concrete to be shiped to berlin. More than would be needed for any one building project, alongside barbed wire and tank traps. For what purpose is unknown... The second, is a personal recommendation. Send a diplomatic mission to cuba sometime soon. The locals were not pleased about a piece of metal containing a live cat landing in their back yard, alongside a growing resentment of the current regime there. The soviets see some sort of opportunity there, hence how I was able to hear anything of it.
You need a very reliable launch vehicle that could launch good payloads. (Beardy already has a reliable good rocket) You have too much engine failures. This is not ok.
This may come with the Katlas, since it does away with the AJ-10 powered upper stage, which seems to have been the cause of most of N9's launch issues.
Two more impacts to go. The Altair SRM will give you more TLI capacity. The desire to use liquid rockets was a mistake. You know exactly how much dv you are going to expend with an SRM so you can use timing to get the right approach and not need to be concerned by manual shut-off timing for liquid engines. Beardy dunked on you with that direct ascent mission.

I'm curious that no RO playthrough used a Titan-style rocket as its first orbital rocket. Everyone used the Atlas.

The Atlas engines are unlocked before Titan engines is probably the main reason - I'll be using them both when it is viable to do so don't worry ;)
