I agree about L.A. Colors stepping up their game. When I first moved back to KY, my sister-in-law bought me a bunch of new makeup because all of mine got damaged during the move from IN (long story). At first, I cringed but didn't wanna hurt her feelings so I tried it and was amazed! It's definitely better than when I tried it a few years ago.
Cover Girl Instant Cheekbones trio in Sophisticated Sable. The trio is blush, contour and highlight in one palette. The highlight is wonderful. It's glowy not glittery. The blush and contour blend beautifully I am also enjoying the Neutrogena lip crayons, Bright Berry is my favorite.
@@katiehenry7 she is. The reason I had to move was because my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I've been in a nursing home since 2021, recovering from having a botched surgery fixed so she and my brother moved us here. Mom moved in with my sister but my sister-in-law helped take care of her.
@@BethSloan-u9rOH my goodness gracious!! I'm so sorry this is happening to you and your family. So many people are getting cancer recently, it's crazy! I took care of my grandma while she was in home hospice last year. It was the hardest thing I've ever done but also the most rewarding. I'll be thinking about you and praying for your healing from the surgery as well as for your mother and family. God bless you for coming to be with her. ♥
One thing I’ve re-purchased over and over is my daily go-to: wetnwild’s tinted hydrator. It gives me the perfect light/medium coverage that is so nice on my mature skin. I love it. And I’ve used so many foundations in so many brands from drug store to high end, but you just can’t beat this for $5 and a great your skin but better look
Everyone says it’s great and I really want to try it. But, several times now I’ve gone to buy it and I can’t decide on a colour. I have light olive skin that is hard to shade match. Cool tones look gray on me and many warm tones look orange. The lighter shades in this line look really peachy and that scares me. Can anyone recommend a comparable product with more diverse shades/undertones?
@@juliamuth8288so it’s a lighter coverage product that’s meant to be able to cover a range of skin tones per shade. if there are testers you can try, then go for that. but it’s likely you’ll find a shade that’ll at least be a close match
I tried LA Girl Pro Matte foundation, because it’s felt like everyone was releasing glowy foundations and not only was it manageable on my dry skin, it has a gorgeous finish, doesn’t transfer and lasts. Truly a hidden gem and really affordable.
I couldn't agree more about Revlon's Candid foundation. This little miracle covers my rosacea without irritation, covers my shiny Rudolph nose without giving polka dot pores, and does not fade. Good luck finding it though! I think it's on the edge of being discontinued, and I will cry. Thanks also for making me aware of the Hard Candy eyeshadow palette. My favorite hidden -or soon to be gone forever - gem is L'Oreal's Age Perfect Creamy Powder Foundation. Perfect as a light dusting over my tinted mineral SPF. Thanks for the video!
So not a makeup but the Eucerin sunscreen is AWESOME! It dries down to a no sticky finish and stays that way. I didn’t notice a white cast (granted I’m also Casper colored so…take that for what it’s worth) and my skin felt great.
Zabrena, you look even prettier today if such a thing is possible. You truly are gorgeous and your hair is stunning. I think I am right in saying you have coloured it again. Such a beautiful colour. What make and shade is it please if you don’t mind me asking? Blessings from the United Kingdom. X
Profusion eye shadow pallets are gorgeous, and richly pigmented and last all day. And to top it off, they are SUPER affordable. I got my daughter and I each one for Christmas with 20 or more colors on clearance for $6.00 - regularly $11.00.
I love that brand too!! I have three of their eyeshadow pallettes and one Trio Contour in Sugar. The blush in this is an exact dupe for NARS's Orgasm Blush only way cheaper!!! I also have their Super Serum Foundation which is an awesome formula...
If you have a "5 Below" store near you, they have Profusion Beauty Books for $5. They include 20 eyeshadows, a blush, highlighter and a bronzer. They sell at least 3 different "books" that I know of, and all of the shades are different in each book, which I liked because I am pretty fair skinned and 2 of the books had blush and the bronzer/contour that would be too dark for me. I bought all 3 though, 2 to give as Christmas gifts and 1 for me to keep. I haven't used it yet, next time I wear makeup up, I'll try mine.
My No.1 affordable find is the Black Girl sunscreen kids version spf 50 (been using it for years tho, I don’t hear ANY hype around it 💔) No cast for dry skin Hydrating AFFORDABLE 3oz for $9.99 which is unheard of in cosmetically elegant spf 0 fragrance or scent Never buying a different sunscreen (I’ve probably used up 10 bottles by now)
2023 drugstore finds that were great are the Wet and Wild Color Icon Blush in Mellow Wine, Magelast Matte lipsticks in Cinamon Spice, Bare it All, and Mochalicious.
LOVE those Neutrogena lipsticks ❤ My favorite shade is Soft Raspberry❤ One hidden gem I found was Hard Candy Eye Def eyeshadow marker❤ I've got super oily skin too, live in a hot climate as well, and the longevity is amazing ❤ I have Cold Brew, Stoned and Pony...I wear them mostly as eyeliner. I love doing a "smoky copper" with Cold Brew. ❤ Another LA Colors hidden gem from Dollar Tree, is their glosses. I have Fruit Punch, and it actually smells like fruit punch 😅 The color is coral/pink, not sticky either, and its only $1.25, I'll take it!! YES❤😅
You got to try the maybelline 24 hr skin tint!! It’s awesome and so light weight. My hidden gem is the LA Colors liquid eyeliner I found at the dollar tree! Stays on all day!
Wet n Wild overall, but specifically, Photofocus foundation, both finishes; Incognito concealer; Megalast eyeshadow primer and Barefocus Tinted Hydrator. All super cheap and good quality.
My drugstore find for this year was Loreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Foundation. So beautiful on the skin and under 10 bucks. It brought up a lot of conversations in my family regarding multiple subjects such as ingredients, green washing, and what being cruelty-free means.
I agree with the neutrogena almond nude. Bought that a long time ago with Emily Noel’s recommendation. Another neutrogena lip product I love is the hydro boost hydrating lip shine in 20 Berry smooth. I own a few from that line and they are amazing
Two hidden gems comes from the brand physician formula first I’ve been loving the concealer it’s perfect for my dry skin being so hydrated and also the butter bronzer as well it blends beautiful and even smells good 😊 I also love melani concealer
B-pure cosmetics at Dollar Tree. From primer to pressed powder, everything I've tried has been awesome. The Hydrating under eye concealer with hyaluronic acid is some of the best concealer I've ever used. I've been wearing make up for over 50 years, and this brand is on point. I actually went back to the store and bought 5 of each item I tried, it's that good.
Hi, Zabrena. I need those little Dollar Tree sponges in my life! Will go on the hunt for those today. You are right - drugstore beauty lines have really upped their game from back in the day. And I agree with you that Neutrogena doesn't get enough love. My dermatologist has recommended it and sworn by it for years. Not sure if this is a hidden gem, but I have fallen in love with the e.l.f. Power Grip Primer + 4% Niacinamide (the pink one, not the original blue one). That's a definite repurchase for me. Another gem from e.l.f. is the Acne Fighting Spot Gel. It is amazing and zaps even the most stubborn zits, including hormonal and cystic. Works like a charm. Merry Christmas! - xx, Carla
Lol if ELF invented a product that zapped cystic acne, they'd make billions on that one product alone, it would be revolutionary. If a topical spot treatment "zaps" a zit, it was not actually a cyst to begin with. Topicals treat at the surface level, cystic acne begins much deeper in the dermis. The only topical that might help at all is a chemical exfoliant like salicylic acid to help the cyst reach the surface sooner, but that's not a unique ingredient and it's still only going to speed up healing, not zap anything. Don't mean any offense, but people who actually suffer from hormonal cystic acne don't need yet another false hope and elf is not inventing any revolutionary products 😅
Drugstore hidden gem - Maybelline Eraser Concealer in 160 and Milani No Pore Zone primer. Must have of all time - (not talked about enough) Colorscience Face Shield Glow 50 spf. Best sunscreen with slight coverage. Love, love!
My favorite drugstore mascara is loreal false fiber mascara. It gives volume and length. I have sensitive eyes and I adore this mascara. I also loved the revolution concealer and define in the short tube.
Your hair looks better than ever, and that's quite a feat considering how awesome you always look. I discovered Annabelle's perfect setting powder in yellow. I have cool toned skin, but this powder doesn't mess with that. It's talc free, brightening and invisible. I love it! I have mature skin that leans to dry/combo and this powder doesn't look heavy or at all obvious. And it's drugstore cheap. Perfect for me.
Soft Mink gets a lot of love on YT from Emily Noel and Jessica Braun! That may be why it’s harder to find. 😁 We need a best of Neutrogena from you! Many of their products are so light that I’m skeptical of the staying power.
I enjoy a glowy blush, and really fell in love eith CoverGirl's Instant Cherkbones. They've been aroundva while, but I rarely hear anyone mention them.
Woman, you’re definitely on the top list of videos/makeup reviews & opinions I LOVE to watch 😊 aside from that fact that you’re a beautiful person both outside & in, (not that I’ve met you but you definitely come across that way), but I like that your reviews are usually quite accurate even though our skin is opposite, (mine being dry & 60+), & enjoy watching you. I tried the Nars light reflecting foundation, new🤷♀️, but already have my backup, found my shade, get compliments on when I where it, lasts the day, what else can we ask from our makeup, right 🤷♀️ it’s makeup not magic, that said…I found the powder, light reflecting/pressed, I found a slight bit drying, continuing to play with though. Also tried Natasha D concealer & one that surprised me was the Flower serum concealer that I find myself grabbing for more often than my Chanel 😮 there’s few more but this has turned into a long comment 😂😂😂
Yes, and yes - the Neutrogena Color Sticks are so very good. L'Oreal Infallible Grip Precision Felt Eyeliner was my fave discovery this year (the brown colour is more a reddish brown - so lovely with blue eyes). Merry Christmas 🎄
I work at the dollar tree and I hoard la colors products and I try new stuff that they come out with all the time just for fun but I mean ya I’m mostly buying drugstore makeup these days my favorite la colors blush would have to be peach rose I still need to try the black retractable liner I just have a lot of black eyeliner I’m getting to it ha ha
For me, I've only tried one color story but I really loved the quads (and they are tiny!) eyeshadows from Hard Candy. The one I tried is the one called Envy. Pigmentation and quality was sound in my experience. Another great eyeshadow find is from Catrice!
Believe beauty lip liner barely there ❤ you recommended last all day ❤I love the revlon candied foundation but I’m pretty sure it’s getting discontinued
I too don't have a good sized Walmart near me that doesn't require some travel time, so I order online from them. My two local IKEA stores are each two hour round trips by car, longer on public transit.
Omgosh, the Lamora Attraction eyeshadow palette❤❤❤ I love it! I created some really stunning looks with it; so beautiful! You need to try it Zabrena, if you haven't already😉
Yes , I have a couple revlon products I love , they have a fabulous highlighter that lasts forever “Skin Lights “ I’m medium complexion & wear 201 “Day Break “ .
I really love the pink age rewind concealer from maybeline and Palladio lip liner in walnut. Oh yeah, thanks for adding the verse in the description, just what I needed today.
Collection kohl eye pencils. They are under £3 in my local supermarket and I initially tried one because they had a cool toned dark brown and I had struggled to find a brown that didn't pull red on me. They are the best kohl pencils I've ever used, even on my super sensitive runny eyes. My favourite find of the year for sure 😊
I really like the lip balm lip colors because they're sheerer than other formulas, which can apply heavily on me. LA Colors has so many more products than what's stocked at DT. I discovered that their powder shadows can be dry and chalky but go on more evenly with a small domed fluff brush. Working with them requires a bit of experimentation to find the right match.
The Revolution Fast Base sick cream blush has become my fave cream blush. I never hear anyone talking about them. I love the shade Bloom. I use the Elf stippling brush to apply, a little goes a long way.. it blends beautifully and wears all day.
Hidden Gem: Joah Brow Down Eyebrow Mechanical Pencil in Light Brunette ♥️ I have blonde sparse brows (basically no noticeable brows) & this pencil is Awesome at giving me actual easy to draw Eyebrows, which is necessary in my case. Thanks for another great video ❤
Hard Candy Face Off liquid blushes are amazing! The same line has a bronzer too that I love! I also used a lot of the Milani liquid contour, the NYX Lift & Snatch brow pencil, and the Elf Lash n Roll mascara. They were all absolute favorites this year 🙌🏼
I got a Hard Candy highlighter holiday trio and Rose Gold is beautiful. Fix My Halo is similar to Fenty's How Many Carats? I just discovered their eyeshadow quads. Soo much better than Elf's. If you love a sparkly, glittery shimmer, then will love it. I have 3 and Purr is my favorite. I've been reaching for that over my high end shadows. Favorite complexion product is revlon illuminance skin tint. Love the foundation, but LOVE their skin tint. I think it's $18.99 at Ulta but I got mine for $10-11. Highly recommend.
I'm excited to try several of these hidden gems. These may not be that hidden but maybe should be considered more my newish favorites: First, the Elf Eye Brightener in the color fair - the pinkish tint really brightens and the formula is creamy and hydrating. Also, I'm really enjoying the Lawless overnight lip plumper mask. I use it almost every night and the next morning, my lips feel soft and ready for color. It gives a very slight tingle but comes in several flavors - I'm using watermelon right now. I look forward to seeing everyone else's hidden gems.
Revlon Candid has been a favorite of mine for years. Its texture, coverage, and wear time remind me very much of Wet n Wild’s Photo Focus foundation - the one that smells like latex paint. I’d consider these two dupes of each other.
I’m not sure if you’ve used the Milani Color Fetish Matte lipsticks, but I love them so much, they are fantastic! They are enriched with hyaluronic acid so they feel amazing and they have good staying power as well. They’re less than $10, and come in beautiful shades. Highly recommend!
For me and my daughter the NYX Lift and Snatch Brow Pen was our favorite brow product. Plus, I use the Covergirl Easy Breezy Brow Powder Kit in Light Brown and I love it. It works perfect for just darkening my brows a little because I have such light red brows. I have decent brows, but I just like to darken then up just a little and use either one. My other favorite products are the LA Girl gel eyeliner and lip liner pencils in the water line. I think I have every color that they make. I love to wear a lot of color and match what ever color that I am wearing. They last on my waterline and I also love the NYX gel eyeliners too. I have a ton of the colors that they have too. I also love the L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara. That is another find this year that is a great find. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Much love from New England. ❤
I’ve discovered La girl ultimate eye intense wear auto eyeliner. I have the ultimate black, purple and navy. They are great. I use the black in my upper water line daily. Also j cat beauty dew glow hydrator in the shades Dew-hydrate and melting your heart. They are lip balms in perfect neutral tones. Very comfortable on the lips- not long wearing but I don’t mind. I’d rather have to reapply then have my lips feel dry. Great video. Thanks for all your hard work.
So glad you mentioned the Revlon candid foundation! Lasts all day on my oily, acne prone skin (even in the hot, humid summer) and covers redness really well! Sadly it’s becoming harder to find (esp. at Target).
you’re always a joy to watch and i love all of your backgrounds ❤ edit: the revlon candid is my holy grail! it’s pure perfection and fully skin-like. you can still get it, i think. super underrated.
The essence lash without limits mascara is fantastic. It separates each lash & is not clumpy. It is more of a lengthening mascara so i will add a volume one on top if i want more dramatic lashes but on its own it great.
Love your picks. I'll have to try a few of these, the Hard Candy highlighter and the Neutrogena lip crayon, and the Revlon blur powder. One product that I really like that is fairly new is the Wet N Wild Incognito concealer.
Thank you SO much, Zabrena, for focusing on affordable makeup!! I have been searching for an eyeliner (not liquid) that is smudge proof and possibly water proof. My eyes water so much in the cold weather! I just ordered the Milani retractable eyeliner that says it is waterproof..... anyone tried this? As for hidden gems for me, the Wet in Wild Tinted Hydratore, Elf's new Fair shade in their Liquid Filter and the white mix in product from Shop Miss A!! Thank you for recommending it to us!
Oh yes, I love the neutragena color sticks. They are so comfortable on the lips. I can’t stand anything drying. I also really love the cover girl exhibitionist cream lipstick. The formula is so comfortable on the lips. And you can’t beat the price!
I don't wear much makeup when I do wear it, but I discovered Essences Double Trouble mascara (waterproof) and I love it! I have been using Essences I love Extreme volume mascara and saw this in my local store and though "Why not?" and I adore it. My lashes don't clump as much with it as other mascaras have done on me in the past. It does add some length with volume, which I enjoy. I haven't seen anyone talk about it, and I feel like it deserves recognition. I haven't noticed any flaking or smudging with it when I wear it, but I don't wear it all day (max 8 hours). The other hidden gem I discovered is the Wet n wild Scooby Doo collaboration eyeliner pen in the blue color. I love Scooby Doo and I saw it in a display around Halloween (nearly wiped out) and I like the color blue. It was one of the easier liquid eyeliners I have used in a while for application. There is a green color, but that was sold out when I found the display. Love your videos and keep up the good work. God bless you and your family this Christmas season!
Hi Zabrena. I fell in love with 2 products. I have purchased several bottles of the NYX bear with me setting spray. I have purchased this over and over again. The second is the Covergirl CLEAN invisible powder. Love, Love, Love this product. I have purchased at 3 for my stash. I do not want to ever run out of this product nor do I want them to discontinue it. Thanks.
I want to try the new Physicians Formula Butter Glow Contour Wand. I've seen a few people use it and it seems to blend like a dream. I already love their Liquid Butter Bronzer. I don't think it's a hidden gem but it's absolutely amazing.
Hi Zabrena, thank you for doing this wonderful video, I also love your winter wonderland back ground, you look stunning in this makeup. Love Katherine xoxo
I hope it was me that suggested the covergirl blush, I love that thing! I really should replace mine. For me it's more a highlighter/blush topper/base.
I've been using those Neutrogena Moisture Stick lipsticks, specifically in the Nude Pink shade for close to 10 years. It's just a great lip to throw on before heading out the door to work - sorta nude pink shade that I've purchased a couple of times for coworkers who commented on it. No lip liner needed, no lip gloss needed. Just perfect on its own!!
Rimmel Products are getting difficult to find - the Lash Accelerator Mascara is the BOMB! Well worth the scavenger hunt. I've been using it for years - whenever I work a film gig, the Make-up team Loves that I bring My own Mascara and the Product Blows them out of the water - no need for false eye-lashes.
Your curls look so gorgeous!!
Thank you!!

Soft Mink gets a lot of love on YT from Emily Noel and Jessica Braun! That may be why it’s harder to find. 😁
We need a best of Neutrogena from you! Many of their products are so light that I’m skeptical of the staying power.
love your hair!
My hidden gem that I ❤ is Maybelline's Lash Sensational: Luscious! One coat wonder!
My hidden gems are the cream to powder eyeshadow sticks from Julep. I think I have 10 different colors
I enjoy a glowy blush, and really fell in love eith CoverGirl's Instant Cherkbones. They've been aroundva while, but I rarely hear anyone mention them.
10:59 I had a Neutrogena lip balm stick in plum or raisin and it was the best!!!
A new video on a Wednesday!!! Thank you so much. Been looking forward to the year end lists. 😌
I love your backdrop! I adore white and blue and that shade of blue is super classy.
Your hair is stunning 💟
My Walmart has Hard Candy but it’s not restocked like it should be!
I found a nice LA Colors liquid eyeliner at DTree in a copper shade, I think they called it rose gold. Very pretty, they had a regular gold shade too!
Where can you purchase this palette? Thanks!
I will check this one out! Thank you!
@@kathleenp3135 Got it off Amazon😊
Yes , I have a couple revlon products I love , they have a fabulous highlighter that lasts forever “Skin Lights “ I’m medium complexion & wear 201 “Day Break “ .
I really love the pink age rewind concealer from maybeline and Palladio lip liner in walnut. Oh yeah, thanks for adding the verse in the description, just what I needed today.
I fell in love with 2 products. The first was the NYX Bear with me setting spray. The second was the Cover
That Revlon foundation is absolutely slept on. It’s my everyday go to. Really cheap on Amazon.
Zabrena. What is your hair color. You usually post it? I love this deep red.
They were all absolute favorites this year 🙌🏼
That Hard Candy palette reminds me of the 'Old Skool' one I bought from Sephora in Las Vegas over twenty years ago. I have to track it down now.
This is definitely off topic, but have you ever done a video on how you care for your curly hair? It's gorgeous, and I'd love to know your routine.
Revlon SKIN LIGHTS #201 ❤
Sadly it’s becoming harder to find (esp. at Target).
you’re always a joy to watch and i love all of your backgrounds ❤
edit: the revlon candid is my holy grail! it’s pure perfection and fully skin-like. you can still get it, i think. super underrated.
My favorite hidden gem of 2023 Maybelline lipstick! ❤ I tried it after you reviewed the red one. I bought it and several other colors.
The essence lash without limits mascara is fantastic. It separates each lash & is not clumpy. It is more of a lengthening mascara so i will add a volume one on top if i want more dramatic lashes but on its own it great.
I too live in Florida , Interlachen to be exact. I also love your hair color. It is as beautiful as you are today!
Beautiful…. Great information 💜
I really live kokie cosmetics micro fine eyebrow pencil. I've repurchased it so many times from amazon.
I love the Revlon candid foundation too. I can't find it in the store anymore but it is still on their website.
Maybelline illegal lengths mascara. Love love love this mascara. It really lengthens without clumping.
I love the Double Trouble mascara! The wands with the dense, fluffy bristles work better on my lashes than the rubbery, spikier ones.
One of my favorite finds in 2023 is Gerard Cosmetics Clean Canvas (eyeshadow primer) and their lip liners. 💖✨
Cover girl cheekers blush in sable❤
Thank you for all your wonderful tips. I truly appreciate you!
I agree of what you said about the Revlon Candaid foundation I will repurchase this. You should try the cover girl 3 pan blush it’s wonderful.
I bought 6 or 7 of the Revlon foundation, in case it was discontinued!
Thank you
First, great video, helpful & thank you! 😊 BUT I must also say that you have the MOST AMAZING & BEAUTIFUL HAIR ❤❤❤ LOVE IT❣️
love the hair, curls & colour so pretty...hugs from central Ontario Canada Happy Holidays ❤
Sky High mascara,
Wet n Wild dewy foundation
