Dude thank you for the video! I remember looking into this years ago and nobody had done this yet and was told id need the whole wiring harness from a wrecked 98-99. I plan on keeping my LC for a long time and this was the only thing i hated about the truck. Im ecstatic to say the least.
Thanks a million Paul. I have 2002 LC with the same wiring as your 2001 LX. I've been trying to do the conversion for ever and was informed it wasn't possible. One shop in Portland, Oregon has done a previous conversion for an exorbitant fee. I just purchased the non navigation head unit (with harness) for $75. I know what my summer project will be.
Hi Paul, I'm Mike from Tanzania. I had a hustle today on a LC with Navi system just like your old one. Someone wanted to sell to me the non Navi one but go hesitant as i wasnt sure if the wiring would work together. This video is very helpful, I will contact the seller again for the non Navi Head Unit. Thanks a lot
Paul - thanks for sharing your knowledge here. Just finished the conversion last week - wouldn't have even attempted this without your vid!!! Thanks again!!!!
do you think its possible that we could install the post 2003 manual control ac unit on a 2000 lx? I happen to be getting that one a bit cheaper than the 2000 near me. Kindly let me know thanks!
I don't think that one will work. The 98-02 versions are different. This mod isn't somewhere you want to skimp and save 50 bucks. It's a big mod you only want to do once.
@Paul came here from the ih8mud forums. Thank you for the video! One question, where do you buy the end caps for the wires you do not end up using? Or rather, what are they called so I can purchase a couple myself. Thanks!

Just cut off one of the ends and used it as a cap for wires
happen to have the Nav DVD unit under the passenger seat that youd sell? Cant get mine to work, says the old "no disk detected" message, im wanting to keep factory head unit for the time being.
On the bottom radio portion of the original system you replaced, there are two harness connectors there. One is for DISC and I think one goes to amp. Do you happen to remember what voltage those two should have? I am getting 12v on plug to the amp and 2-3 on the DISC plug. My problem is that I am not getting any power to the radio. Will not come on. Thanks
@Paul would the push control buttons work or is has to be dial controls only? Would also love to see what you installed in terms of a new panel (android or brand etc) and how. Great video btw. Thx
You can also use a lexus non nav controls panel. Not positive the wires are the same though, so check out mud. You'd need new mounting brackets and trim around your head unit if you go with the Lexus non nav controls.
@@prwillard2 I'm facing a problem is like that the way you switching Upper grade air-condition to Lower grade air-condition. Now I want to install Tesla style android tv. Could you please share me the pinouts diagram of those air-conditioning sockets? Please

Glad to help! You'll probably need to install a new amp as well, but most shops will do that cheaply
Do you still have the link of where you’ve purchased it? Because I bought the non nav but it came without the wiring.

Glad to help! I was very afraid to do this myself at first, but once you've completed the project it is so much nicer!
Paul thanks a lot for video. Where can i buy one panel with wiring for my lc
Your best bet is a junkyard. Need a manual control panel WITH the wiring pigtails

Unfortunately I already sold mine. I'd check eBay as that's where I sold mine.
@@prwillard2 thanks man. I think I found one on ih8mud, so hopefully that works out
Paul where can I find pinouts.
Deniz Nazim go to ih8mud.com and look up the nav replacement thread. It has the pinouts
Brother.. Do u still have the original Navi with you??
I sold the screen, but still have the trim, Nav ECU, and amp.
Paul Willard brother.. from where did u buy the wirings for lc panel?? Temperature control unit wires??
Paul Willard i do have the panel with me... but i don't know where can i get these wirings.
Faaz 01 you'll need the "Pigtails" from a non nav manual controls model. A junkyard may have them

I didnt test any of the wires for voltage as I just followed the wire diagram on ih8mud
@@prwillard2 Could you please share me that pinouts diagram link? cos I didn't see any diagram there in IH8MUD.com
