I like this... I wonder if say I have a skill, a passion, something I love to do and do it daily - let's say I could be a musician Then I can just produce content around this as its my passion and falls under your magic category
I find the problem with people doing content creation is lack of strategy. They come up with ideas and upload them and post them straight away. They may be motivated for a couple months and may upload 40 videos in that time. 40 videos could be 40 or 20 weeks instead of 2/3 months. Batch and post consistently (I also recommend using a bit of Famester as it helps a lot). Don't post everything straight away, post it on the same day/time every week. This also helps avoid burn out...
Yes, this happened to me. I just started posting videos and I was doing so well but I had no strategy. Sadly personal issues came up and since I was making videos week by week I had no backup plan so I just stopped posting. Now I just don't know how to get back to it, lost my motivation.
Totally feel this! Happened to me when my channel "blew up" started chasing the metrics and forget why I started making content in the first place. This was supposed to be a creative outlet that could lead to financial freedom but turned into a prison. Now I'm taking a step back and going back to the thing that made me grow in the first place. Which is being me, expressing my myself and sharing my experiences!
Hey I follow your channel too! Keep doing what you’re doing bro. I love that you are breaking into new territory with your channel. Even if your views aren’t as many as your programming videos, don’t let that stop you from putting out content you want! You are interesting and have a unique take on things, including trending topics. Keep it up brother!
None of you have talent. You are just yapping and ‘creating’…literally nothing. This whole social media schizm is just that…a rip in the fabric of humanity that the 99.9 percent of people who have zero talent feel like they can get a piece. It’s all just a bunch of talentless people TALKING. It will all implode upon itself. Talent always win. This con game of the ‘cult of personality’ is as empty as the vessels that run these channels. Listening to this guy whisper about diluting ANYTHING is like a person with no legs talking about how to run. Effing ridiculous.
@@91dgrossthank you! It really helps to hear positive feedback like that from a viewer. Getting caught up in the numbers can make you lose sight of why I'm doing this sometimes.
This is so true. Influencers and entrepreneurs will act like working a 9-5 is a trap, but I leave my work at work and my free time is all mine. Meanwhile, whether they’re networking or responding to comments, they are basically working 24/7 and their work leaks into every facet of their life. So many creators complain of burnout and mental health struggles. Who’s really trapped?
@@heydani6678 yeah. All these people in the comments are crying that they can't do everything they want every single second of the day. I get so tired of that shit
You're so right. The "9-5 is a trap" is just a story. That's all it is. But it hit home bc we weren't lit up. And we won't light up no matter what the outlet is, whether its entrepreneurship or corporate or whatever. We have to be responsible for our own joy every day.
I love watching my desires manifest. I don't always have to be the one to make it happen. I just think and speak it and it happens. And I see the evidence of it all the time. Thank you for this 🥰
I’ve always said it’s easy to build your own prison as an entrepreneur or professional creative. A decade ago I started a design agency and eventually was managing a team of twelve but was no longer designing and I started having panic attacks. After three ER visits in two years I sold the business and started making videos as a new creative outlet. Now I’m a full-time video editor and have to remind myself to keep a balance and not build another prison cell out of my creative work. It’s all about balance, setting boundaries, and not falling for the trap of bigger and more at all costs. Like you say, we can find our creative spark again by returning to our creative source, our “why”. ❤
I often think about this. I know what things i wouldn’t want to scale up beyond a certain point where i am no longer actually doing what i enjoy and love. I have an idea what I’m willing to and not willing to sacrifice… really appreciate you sharing this
bohemian rhapsody is a great example of sticking to your craft and not letting the world in your process, they said no one would listen to a 6 min song on the radio
“We are fighting for attention even though we can’t hold our own attention on one thing that we love for long enough” daaaamn. Thank you for that. These are 2024 goals for sure. What a great message to hear on NYE.
Totally resonate with this!! That’s why I stopped listening to the pressure of “creators” on each platform (UA-cam and others) saying you better post this amount of videos/shorts reels etc etc 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️it’s too overwhelming so I go at my own pace and I chill, I trust the process and I enjoy the journey and I’m lovin the content I’m creating and so are others!! Thank you HINDZ! ❤️🙌🏾💪🏾
I feel you that's why with my channel I post when I'm ready and whoever watch I'm having fun and if it's meant to turn into a profit then that's a bonus. and everything isn't for everybody meaning the videos that you post.
nah facts. i wanted to be a content creator but then i felt like it was too much. you have to keep people’s attention everyday. it’s too draining. it just doesn’t really seem that purposeful for me personally. i feel like i would loose joy doing it if i stay consistent
I agree! I recently said to my husband that I’m going to stop watching “how to grow” and “trend” videos. It’s constantly changing. The right audience will come eventually.
In psychology there are studies about “intrinsic and extrinsic motivation”. Basically, what was found was that when the motivation was purely intrinsic (I.e. the reward was the activity itself), the output was best. Yet, when an extrinsic motivation was involved (I.e. money), the output started to dwindle and people reported being less happy with the activity. Essentially, what you’re saying is backed by science. 👍🏻
@@smartbutvapid the best way is to make sure you feel like you have self determination, meaning the agency and drive to do something and you develop a sense of competence, meaning you set measurable goals and witness yourself achieving them.
very few people are really talking about this, being torn between creativity and attention and the algorithm. it's a struggle because you seek to make a living from it. a real living and it's not easy, and being torn between making the quick thing that could get you rich, or the thing that makes your life fulfilling. but not having money isn't fulfilling either

After several years trying to make it online, I cannot tell you how happy and relieved I was when I went back to a “normal” job. Now after a yearlong break I’m slowly getting back to creating and building for the love of it and it feels so much better.
This is very true. As an artist, i struggle everyday trying to think of new content to make and hopping on new trends but I finally stopped and had a long talk with myself. It's about the art, not the views, likes or attention. I honestly can say that I don't care about that anymore. Quality is better than quantity.

did that for 10 years and im way happier as a ontent cre8or now. Now i can be there in my kids lives way more and we be doing fun ish all the time. Maybe for you working making someone else rich brings value to your life but nah tried it and not going back. As an oil painter who can’t paint faster.. i’ll never be burnt out with my passion and my craft. I also refuse to let myself burn out. Art is a therapy for me. 😢
Ugh I’m feeling this! I was SO excited to quit my traditional job and pursue content creating full time. After 2 years on the hamster wheel and feeling endlessly slighted by the attention economy, my joy for it has depleted and been replaced with that SAME monotonous, resentful, pressurized feeling that led me to desperately try to escape my 9-5. It makes me sad because I didn’t know this could happen to this degree. I used to bring so much of myself into my content and be excited all throughout the creation process. now my creation structure is all about what can be produced as fast as possible, on the pulse of whatever the current trends are, and will “perform” well. That’s not a creative process. That’s your ordinary, assembly line, deadline impending, soul sucking job. I’ve been stepping back and reevaluating how to get back in or pivot to find my happy place in it again, because I definitely prefer to work for myself, but man it’s so hard.
Bingo, there you go. The illusion of escape, the seduction of invisible puppeteers. Same story, different year, now digital. Get it on your own home video today
First off...you're so beautiful! 💕 But honestly, something I've noticed over the years is that whether someone is a celebrity, guru, author, content creator, etc...quality always matters over quantity. Fans, followers, supporters, etc will literally wait patiently and check back incessantly as these individuals take time to themselves and then come back with "quality" content. People are STILL asking Rihanna to make music and have a tour. When was the last time she did anything consistent with music? People simply love her energy and want it however they can get it and will WAIT for it lol...artists like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole do not push their music like other mainstream artists and we are always pleasantly satisfied when they finally release their thoughtfully crafted content. A UA-camr by the name of Erica Fae has gone through ups and downs ever since she was diagnosed with Lyme disease and now has been fighting cancer. To this day many of us still follow her on social and UA-cam although we know we won't see/hear from her for months to years and are right there STILL supporting her after every long ass hiatus because we're connected to her journey. Your people will NEVER forget you! However...businesses, artists, and creators that focus on quantity over quality do not create authentic connection to their "fanbase" or customers and people use their content or products as a means to escape vs a means to connect. So they're easily forgotten and tossed aside because they never "connected"...
My grandfather (who is no longer alive) left me a few quotes that I have stuck to. 1) "The world will never stop being the world." 2) "Life is beautiful. You just have to know how to live it." and 3) "Don't be lazy. Work hard." They are simple yet profound. He raised 10 kids, worked in a factory, immigrated his children legally from a small village in Mexico into the US during the 1960s. He owned a car, 3 properties, and had the love and adoration of his children and grandchildren. I still sing about him to this day. As the Holy Bible says "Your reputation is more precious than jewels and rubies." And "Wisdom is nourishing to the soul like a good meal."
Teachers suffer from this too. Students are used to getting a quick fix, so when we "take too long" to create an outcome they get "bored". I feel like an actor who performs commercials all day, because I can only keep their attention for a few minutes at a time. They can't even sit through a movie anymore, so I stopped showing them. If they have to wait for anything, they get visibly upset. I now show 20-minute videos, if they can pay that much attention and time on something. Even those short videos, I need to stop to keep their attention. It is draining me physically and emotionally, to the point that I am losing my passion too. I never thought I would say such a thing. It is a miracle my students learn anything at all, in this kind of environment.
Sad and scary! I wonder how much the way media is delivered has to do with this. my kids never have to see a commercial when they watch tv, they can watch a bunch of episodes in a row, they can watch a show anytime they want and they can fast forward through parts they don’t like. When I was a kid a show was broadcast at a specific time with commercials, if you missed it that was that. Add in social media to the mix and it makes it worse.
✨Notes to Self✨ In this hustle culture, we’re in an attention economy not a creator economy 🎯 Stay true to your essence… We don’t chase attention, we create… and then share. Set boundaries to protect your creativity… Have regular creative retreats… give yourself the freedom to create Don’t get attached to the attention economy… lest it become your new 9 to 5
That's what arts have always been used for professionally. 85% Business. Maybe more. The rest is entertainment based. Which is another reason artists get such little respect in this money making game.
This is what I want to avoid, that feeling of it becoming a “9-5 trap”. I don’t want to worry about views and followers, i want to leave it up whatever is meant to happen. I don’t want to lose the passion and excitement. I don’t even want to check comments. Thank you for this message, this is the type of channel/ family I want to join in 2024. New sub 👍🏾💯
I burned myself out pumping out 5 albums in the past 2 years, getting back to my roots of loving creation has helped me fall back into the music i loved
I agree. I’m a fitness instructor initially it was a hobby then I got laid off started doing it full time. The comparisons between instructors and egos and class numbers… it all messes with my joy of it. We all want to be the best but at what cost. The more classes you teach the more prep you have to do, it’s a lot. Then I put pressure on myself to change the moves every week.
So glad you put this conversation in the atmosphere. There are probably more creators being burned out than people getting burned out with the 9 to 5 and the trend is still growing. Unfortunately, once that money starts flowing it’s hard to step back. That’s why I always stress the importance of diversifying your income sources.
@@authorreneedang Great question. I always recommend that creators should have some product or service that they sell. Some things are natural as a result of the type of content you are creating. For example, I see you are an author so there is book sales, you may also be able to sell your services to help others write a book. Then there are the things that you learn as a result of having to create content like editing, film making, videography, and graphic design, courses and digital products. Then there are brand deals and affiliate income. Never rely on the revenue from your content alone.
This is so true, but not enough people talk about it. I used to be a professional musician, and it honestly took all the joy out of music playing. Now, I'm a writer, and I have to be really careful about not letting it happen again. There's something very destructive about getting money for your creative endeavors. I know it can be an obvious necessity, but losing joy is always a real risk.
i really stopped caring about maintaining my social media years ago. Intuitively I felt it was no longer just fun stuff that I want to do anymore. Most won't understand this unless pointed out, so this video is very helpful to open some eyes for a few (or a lot).
title caught my eye, spot on. at the end of the day its our own inner voice that should guide our ship, external sources can help but they can't do the inner work for us.
dude, i love how calm your videos are, not hyper edited and just simply you talking... not a bucket load of b roll or other video clips. so nice, the lighting is awesome, your voice is so soft, I love.
When I began this year (2024), I told myself, "I am Peter Panning it this year! I will hold on to my happy thought so I can fly." Many of us need to have something that reminds us why we started and why we are still doing this. Like the movie Inception: We need our trinket to bring us back to life. There are so many distractions in the creative industry that tend to take us off course and will make us fall and doubt ourselves if we aren't careful. Great video!
Feel this! I burned out for yearssss after chasing the wrong things. Now I’m back and committed to prioritizing the right things. Space to read and think and tap into inspiration. That space is where the best, most authentic stuff comes from. It’s the stuff that (sometimes) gets the best response, too. Biggest thing is to tune out the growth experts because even their marketing makes you feel like a failure if you’re not blowing up overnight. The biggest gift we can give ourselves is following our unique paths and seeing where it takes us.
"the number one way to kill your joy is the expectation that you put on yourself this has to be good, before you even start before you even get the energy moving, before you explore" so true!

Have not even started the video yet, but the title alone already has me in agreement. I was talking to a friend about social media content creation being a new way to “enslave” people into a job they don’t necessarily want to do, or at least continue doing.
Remarkably executed! You’re speaking about the content- trauma that most of us are dealing with privately while trying to seek the attentions of social media. You’ve communicated this well sir!
Agree 100%. Touched on this a little in a video a few months back. People really struggle to stick to their own standards and set their own criteria for creative success when money & recognition are involved.
The attention economy. Attention is the worst addiction. it's stronger than any drug known to man. It's sad and your absolutely right it becomes a trap. Great video
I do definitely think there’s pros and cons to being a content creator. But there’s also pros and cons to a standard 9-5 job. I think ultimately, everyone has to work to live and survive, I think everyone should do something they love or something they can at the very least tolerate and not focus on the numbers or money. If someone is wanting to be a content creator, you can’t focus on views, money, numbers etc, or you will lose the joy from it. Life is so short. I say go for it. If it’s something you want to do and something that makes you happy. “we regret the things we didn’t do more than the things we did” ❤
I started my channel carefree, sharing my heart. As soon as I started caring about metrics, my views dropped. Everyday I focus on my heart energy, not metrics. I'm with you, creators 💜 I feel your heart.
I’ve been thinking exactly this lately… I’m following my dreams but it feels like when I was working 9 to 5 and my anxiety is next level. I shouldn’t expect so much perfection from my human self. Money will follow 🙏
Exactly. Do what you actually love and the money follows. It may sound cliché because we use that phrase a lot, but if we have the VISION for our success/happiness and stay true to it, then the path unravels before our eyes and your connection with the Most High/Creator becomes so strong. But it’s trust/faith first. We are more than artists - we are Co-Creators of life as well ❤️🔥
Truly resonating with this, I took a break break from creating on YT to pursue TikTok (the ease of pumping out numbers in the Attention economy) and realised I was chasing numbers... and numbers are never ending. Back in the game now with zero fks to give about making numbers - but as humans I feel its natural for these tendencies to creep in, we must keep them at bay. Thank you for sharing this video, love your energy
Thank you! By the end of this year, my craft has started feeling more like just another thing I “have” to do. I’m currently working on falling back in love with it and the reasons why I started
you need to snap out of it, is no different than porn by now for you, you just do not see it yet, it replaced it... shut all "learning down", is direct consuming in hidden terms.. you need to instead produce , play and create!

I want a podcast so badly to leave a 9-5 lifestyle & keep bartending on the side but based on the title it’s how I feel I don’t want to get into the internet at the same time it’s a double edged sword
This video came at the perfect time. Thank you. I’ve had videos blow up and I love making content that I care about. But there’s also this fear of success. I have goals for my channel in 2024 but I never want to get obsessed about the algorithm and getting sponsorships. It can take away my creative freedom and the joy. I don’t even look at the statistics. I just make what I love and keep improving. A friend asked me if I would leave my day job/school for content creation and I said No. It’s really about finding that perfect balance. And I love being multidimensional. I don’t want all of my identity to be in one thing because it can be gone at any instant. And we are not defined solely by what we do.
This title! This title! I literally just had a thought yesterday that I’m so grateful I don’t have current brand deals it’s literally a slave trade! Like instead of a day job you’re a slave to the brands that pay you to promote their products.😮
i really needed to hear this. I found myself in the cycle of 'creating' more to make up for the lack of engagement , in doing that i lost the passion behind making videos. instead of creating what i enjoyed , i was trying to emulate what i thought would get more engagement. it wasn't until i stopped to reflect on my year that i realized i wasn't having fun anymore , and i wasn't proud of what i was putting out. hearing this is giving me the encouragement to take a break + rekindle my passion.
I run a wedding photography business and I got sooo sick of posting everyday abd making Instagram Reels, trying to keep up with the trending audios and making content asap. I lost the passion for what matters most: documening love. Now, I do my photography business via just word of mouth and got a part time job on the side.
I’m commenting previous to watching the video. I had a conversation with a friend of mine. That is the one really good on TikTok but now is stuck at his full-time job because he realized that it takes so much time to create content that you literally can’t do both. If you do, you will be working nonstop, so you have to choose but what are you actually choosing because creating content is the new 9 to 5. Now I’m going to watch the video.
This year im all about attracting and not chasing. As an author and indie publisher I got caught up in the whole content creating business side of things, but i recently noticed that since I kinda put the promoting part on the back burner I just found out that my books have started getting 5 star reviews! So im just going to focus on just creating as a writer. Everything else will follow.
Indie author here too. So far, I find it easier to make a living when I'm churning and promoting. I wonder if there's a balance between loving the writing part and loving the promotion part. I see some authors on IG who go silent during their writing phase and then hop online when it's time to promote. Maybe that's what we can adopt?
This guy is so chill that even listening to him advertising his sponsor was relaxing. I found more wisdom in this video than many trying to tell me how to make videos for the platform.
Thank you for this video. I needed to hear this. As a creator who's content began going viral only recently I was concerned for not only my creativity but my mental health. I don't like that factory feeling. My desire is to include this platorm in my life, not build my life around it. Your video gave me insight on what is lurking up ahead. Now I can build better systems and routines for myself to protect myself from being caught up in that vortex. Again, thank you.
I love painting as a hobby and i was following a guy that make truly masterpiece, he has a decent amount of content and followers. It blew my mind when i understood that this guy dont sell his art for ethical reason. That really shook me and inspired me.
This was probably the realist video I've heard on this, as someone who returned to my vision back in March 2023 last year and put everything to bring it to life and invest in me for the first time in a while, this is a reminder to not lost sight on "why" "Always have a vision; your business serves as the conduit to actualize and bring your vision to life."
So many channels on UA-cam talk about chasing the algorithm, views and engagement to blow up your channel and grow. Your take on this is so refreshing and I needed to hear it. Thank you for making it okay for me to just be me
Yeah I feel like I’m not even enjoying making videos wondering when my videos will take off when I just really wanted to encourage , uplift others, and feel creative. I gotta just focus on feeling passion and just letting my channel be my diary. I definitely feel like I’ve been killing my joy which makes me feel like I can’t complete anything. I end up tiring myself out
I needed this today, it's confirmation to continue building your creativity and never conforming. It's nothing wrong with authencity, as long as it's organically evolving.
As an artist, I appreciate your content. I can say intentions are key before I go out to perform. Patience and persistence are also key. Visualization from the conscious mind and asking questions to hit the subconscious mind such as "Why am I such a money magnet?" Or whatever you're trying to manifest. Juggling is the ultimate traveler's sport/business. Invest that money into your health and helping others in need. I am so blessed. I am open to give and receive. Rest and motion. There's a duality to life in every area. Just write down all the opposites you can think of. It's virtually endless.
Well said…you get caught up in the whole world of social media(UA-cam) that you forget how to enjoy what YOU want to do what you initially begin creating then becomes a job that you no longer loves Because of the pressure to keep up!
Oh, I loved this video so much! I am not creating and posting contents AT ALL like the others out there but the constant social media consumption, the stimulation; the brainstorming to come up with ideas and stuff, just is so tiring and drains my energy for the day. Thank you for saying what many of us are thinking & feeling! Time to listen to our body, mind and to our true essence. ❤
It never ceases to amaze me how your videos come at the right time. I’m starting to gain a wider grasp on things, still making a lot of mistakes but I don’t eat myself alive as much for it anymore. Every time I mistake, I learn something I would have never seen in myself before. I’d rather make millions of bold mistakes that I can own, then play it safe my whole life. And there have been a lot times in my life where my head has been a chaotic mess, then I listen to you and it’s like I can breathe again, so thank you.
The constant treadmill of a process "content creation" has become is meant to not only re-create the 9-5 struggle but to get everyone participating (the viewer & the creator) to spend more money than anyone has spent in the past, while the content being produced gives little to no value to the viewer & means nothing to the creator except the financial benefit they receive for producing it. What was once a hobby has turned into an economic treadmill & you best believe the folks in charge designed this system to be this way. They dont curate everyone's feed & timeline for no reason. iTz to control what you see & who they push
Girl this video came across my feed at the literal perfect timing. Alllll month long I have been trying so hard to work up the nerve to do this, and even though I pride myself on not caring what people think I guess on some level I care more than I realized because the thing that's keeping me stuck is thinking of the people I know in real life coming across my stuff and not wanting to be seen by them lol. I really need to cut it out and just rip the bandaid because the fact that it's been on my mind for so long and I've slowly gathered the equipment I need means I really need to make this leap already. So thank you for this and I with you all the success love
You’re bringing balance to the force. So many videos right now preaching about branding, promotion, catering to platforms, and all that. Not as many grounding videos like this encouraging you to remember why you started down this path and find a healthy relationship with what you do. This is a breath of fresh air. Thank you.
My my my , I have seen you before but seeing you and hearing in this tone , really said something to me. I am in the early stages of a podcast telling my story or just being a sound board for me. Thank you for your words brother. Huge salute to you.

The thing everyone needs to understand that you’re gonna have to work. In life, you are going to have to dedicate time to earning money, that’s just it, the long and short of it. Unless you were born into a family of Wealth and affluence, but even then if you aren’t working, it’s very likely you will find no purpose in your own life, and end up worse off mentally and emotionally. Just accept that you have to work
Nope, I wouldn't end up worse off mentally. The reason why work sucks is because we're worried about bills. If you didn't have to worry about bills, say you come from a wealthy family or live in a country with good systems, that doesn't mean you won't want to work or you won't have a purpose. You'd find sth to do of course but without the pressure of making money to pay bills and that would be a very peaceful life
@@knot_kisses if you spun a few years learning and honing an economically viable skill (relevant degree, trade, service, etc) and spun a few more years growing your professional acumen, trust me, you would be not worried about paying bills, and have plenty of disposable money….. so long as you weren’t living way beyond your means
@@tomagray1811 the purpose of life is just to exist. You won't become worse off if you just exist lol. You'll probably have the best mental health. Existing doesn't mean just laying around in bed. Do you think when you retire you'll just be sitting on the couch n laying in bed? You'll always be inclined to do sth. You'll now have the freedom to learn that skill you've always wanted to know because you love it n not because you want to make money from it. You'll probably learn many skills, you'll suck at some, be good at some but there's no pressure now. The only people who have this luxury before they retire, are children born from affluent countries, people from countries with good systems or sb married to an affluent man. Not having to work, meaning you come from money, gives you so many opportunities
being a content creator and putting yourself and your life/light force out there constantly will burn out the creator and can lead to health problems and even premature death
Reminds me of my son. He’s only 4 so doesn’t ‘have’ to do any household chores yet (although I allow him to help when he’s curious). But I noticed he loved to hoover, then when I asked him a few days ago to hoover the office with the mess HE made, he had zero interest. It’s begun 😩
These are the exact thoughts I've been having this last year or two. People will continue to move into content creation of many varieties... our lives are our brands. We are made to believe we have to keep up with algorithms and push content out daily, consistently. It's draining and who says that's how it has to be? Most people are not sitting around staring at the screen waiting for content to be released. They have other content to absorb and when yours (generally speaking) releases, they'll be there to support it. Too many influencers are demanding that you post an absurd amount consistently or you will not be successful. But you know what? I'm trying something else. I'm recording what feels right along my path and uploading WHEN I HAVE TIME, because I did not give up the mainstream work life 7+ years ago just to fall back into an enslaved system. Technology can be about freedom, we just have to stop falling into mainstream tactics and BE AUTHENTIC.
And I'll add that actually, when I DON'T post as frequently, I get MORE views and engagement BECAUSE I don't post as often. I am utilizing that strategy and working on longer content that has a relaxing vibe that people can just put on in the background, and because I don't post as often, it will *always* be shown to people because it's more of a rarity rather than pouring half-assed varieties of the same content just to hit a quota.
I have always just used my channel as a journal, I never focused on my growth per say just on creating a memory, something I enjoyed putting together! Then I eventually was flown to Jamaica and really found my true spark by showing people, well Jamaica, Raw Essence, Passion and Joy but I don't let anything change my mindset I STILL enjoy the whole process.
When content is a biproduct of passion, You create magic
When content is a biproduct of necessity, You create burden
This one hit me hard I agree 💯
I think it's the other way around...
I like this...
I wonder if say I have a skill, a passion, something I love to do and do it daily - let's say I could be a musician
Then I can just produce content around this as its my passion and falls under your magic category
Well said
agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed
I find the problem with people doing content creation is lack of strategy. They come up with ideas and upload them and post them straight away. They may be motivated for a couple months and may upload 40 videos in that time. 40 videos could be 40 or 20 weeks instead of 2/3 months. Batch and post consistently (I also recommend using a bit of Famester as it helps a lot). Don't post everything straight away, post it on the same day/time every week. This also helps avoid burn out...
I agree with you, and Famester is really good. I grew up my channel in one month with their service
Yes, this happened to me. I just started posting videos and I was doing so well but I had no strategy. Sadly personal issues came up and since I was making videos week by week I had no backup plan so I just stopped posting. Now I just don't know how to get back to it, lost my motivation.
You completely missed the point of the video

Totally feel this! Happened to me when my channel "blew up" started chasing the metrics and forget why I started making content in the first place. This was supposed to be a creative outlet that could lead to financial freedom but turned into a prison. Now I'm taking a step back and going back to the thing that made me grow in the first place. Which is being me, expressing my myself and sharing my experiences!

You're so right. The "9-5 is a trap" is just a story. That's all it is. But it hit home bc we weren't lit up. And we won't light up no matter what the outlet is, whether its entrepreneurship or corporate or whatever. We have to be responsible for our own joy every day.

We were never supposed to. But being pushed into precarious situations by the 1% everybody is desperate.

Man this is exactly what I and the new generation of creators need to hear
Amen.
worked in a factory but owns 3 properties ..that is no longer achievable today

It is a miracle my students learn anything at all, in this kind of environment.
this is so sad
You are not alone. I feel the same way!
Sounds like we as a society should stop mandating learning and instead cultivate and celebrate it, without so much pressure on the kids.
Add in social media to the mix and it makes it worse.
this is so scary :-((

Bro. The egos and class attendance ruined it for me.
I felt this back in 2011. Sometimes, you gotta lose it all, to appreciate what you've gained...
So glad you put this conversation in the atmosphere. There are probably more creators being burned out than people getting burned out with the 9 to 5 and the trend is still growing. Unfortunately, once that money starts flowing it’s hard to step back. That’s why I always stress the importance of diversifying your income sources.
For many, this is their first business. How do you recommend diversifying when focus is so important when building a first business?

"We are fighting for attention even though we can't hold our attention." That's a statement to chew on.
I do definitely think there’s pros and cons to being a content creator. But there’s also pros and cons to a standard 9-5 job. I think ultimately, everyone has to work to live and survive, I think everyone should do something they love or something they can at the very least tolerate and not focus on the numbers or money.
Good point. Chasing the algorithm is very taxing. If you can create content and not chase that algorithm, you win.

i really needed to hear this.
So im just going to focus on just creating as a writer. Everything else will follow.
Congratulations on that! Same here as far as getting caught in the creation machine. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I end up tiring myself out
Just know you make an impact every day on real people who need your words brother. Thank you.
I needed this today, it's confirmation to continue building your creativity and never conforming. It's nothing wrong with authencity, as long as it's organically evolving.
This guy is a healer... Healer for Creators... His words o my so soothing and comforting.
Blessed to see this comment
@@natashasoulchild9232 you'd be more blessed to be my boo 😘
Well said…you get caught up in the whole world of social media(UA-cam) that you forget how to enjoy what YOU want to do what you initially begin creating then becomes a job that you no longer loves Because of the pressure to keep up!
Thank you for what you do Hindz! Always come here for clarity and pureness. Thank you for all that you do! Keep doing you brother!
So true. In the new year, I want to focus my attention on a few core things I love, things where I get joy from the process
So thank you for this and I with you all the success love
yes! title alone does it for me. I feel the same. but let it not be an excuse for not even trying,
Bro this is a LIFE SAVING video im so grateful and NEED this community bro.
Heck yes! 🙌 Heck yes to ALL of this. I keep this in front of mind as I keep working and create. Just, heck yes. 👏
You’re bringing balance to the force.
So many videos right now preaching about branding, promotion, catering to platforms, and all that. Not as many grounding videos like this encouraging you to remember why you started down this path and find a healthy relationship with what you do.
This is a breath of fresh air. Thank you.
I already love it… just seeing the title !
My my my , I have seen you before but seeing you and hearing in this tone , really said something to me. I am in the early stages of a podcast telling my story or just being a sound board for me. Thank you for your words brother. Huge salute to you.
This is a hard truth that I learned this year. Thank you for your work, Hindz!
Listening to you talk makes me wanna cry, and i mean this in the best way possible. i feel seen, heard, and understood. you're great.
I've been reading so much on attention capture - Attention Merchant is a fab read to start by Tim Wu, also for socials "The Outrage Machine"
Powerful piece, thank you for sharing. Protecting your mind & focus is so key - energy flows where attention goes - remember if it's free, you are the product.
My new year's goal was to find my joy again since 2023 was defined by everything you're saying. I'm happy to learn I'm not alone in this. Thank you for this impeccably timed video 💜

The joy the fun and exploring that's what I did showing Jamaica and embracing its beauty
being a content creator and putting yourself and your life/light force out there constantly will burn out the creator and can lead to health problems and even premature death
Thank you for this great peaceful felt spiritual conversation. I really enjoyed it and it is definitely food for thought. Thank you.
we started this for freedom but… now we created other walls
Reminds me of my son. He’s only 4 so doesn’t ‘have’ to do any household chores yet (although I allow him to help when he’s curious). But I noticed he loved to hoover, then when I asked him a few days ago to hoover the office with the mess HE made, he had zero interest. It’s begun 😩
cute
Damn this was so good! Thank you for making this.. sending love ✨🫶🏼 This message was so beautifully said!
Happy New Year!
You cannot believe how on time this video came to me. Speaks to me. Thank you for this honesty man, I really needed this speech today.
Dude this was an amazing video. This hitted me hard. Congrats
This is exactly how I been feeling, thank you for speaking on this🎯‼️… 2024 is strictly about me & doing stuff creatively that makes me happy🌟
