    This is suitable to Philippines requirements. This is a big help in bringing medical or relief goods supply since we are prone to natural disaster like typhoons (8 or more each year) , earthquake etc.. Our country comprises of more than 7,000 islands so this type of multi purpose ships is essential in protecting our country also from treats to other foreign countries, terrorists, smugglers etc.

    I like to see, spesific solutions to naval needs.
    That OPV design looks great. Not just able to support also strong enought to defend itself for various threats for relatively longer time span.

    Fascinating looking concept and good video content showing it. Good plug for Fassmer in there as well Xav real two-for-one!. If Fassmer are demo-ing at EuroNav maybe a video on that new OPV design displayed!?.

    Suitable for long range patrols but not suitable for direct combat even against a submarine. Though such feature is varied according clients' preferences. RMN could get at least one for patrol the Eastern territory.

    can we get more information about the fassmer multipurpose opv? It looks like an innovative design, which could be more useful in mediterranean than the cube.

    Modular is interesting - but you still have to buy, store, transport, and maintain all those modules.

    • @neurofiedyamato8763

      It's cheaper than maintaining a entire ship. If you have a ship for SAM and a ship for ASW, that's two ships to maintain. A single modular ship with ASW module and SAM module mean you only need to maintain one ship and a quarter.

    Modular is great, but I am amazed and concerned that many european navies are focusing much of their design on humanitarian and refugee missions. If they can help in some way in a normal configuration then great, but how about we get back to building warships that are designed to sow death and destruction? Let's put the war back in warship, not an armed version of a Red Cross vessel.

      Iso containers can be configured to carry missiles too. Realistically the ships will spend 99% of their time on humanitarian tasks so they need to be flexible going forward. I would rather see this funded from foreign aid budgets rather than defense budgets though so we get the best of both.

      Humanitarian missions have numerous benefits for navies and forward defense. It is training for the practical aspects of warfare such as military medical needs sailing into battle zones. Providing power within cities under attack, evacuating military as well as civilian personnel from battle zones etc. There is also the matter of power projection in peace time. Sending military assets to wave the flag and demonstrate potential capability is necessary, and it is easier to do under the guise of rendering assistance. Humanitarian aid is also a form of soft-power in which countries can be kept within a sphere of influence via aid, disaster relief, and training other navies.
      It is not like humanitarian missions exist in isolation from more conventional military roles.

      Well the purpose of force , at least in Europe now in 2020 is to enforce law & order. Refugees are a symptom of a lack of law & order elsewhere.
      It is a failure of the UN security council in particular the US,Russia,China,France,UK to act as the world police.

    • @Joshua_N-A
      @Joshua_N-A 3 роки тому

      Hospital ships should be separate from combat ships. If Europe focus on law and order, there's no need to have multiple ship classes with modular configurations & migrants wouldn't have reach European shores. They can just give them first aid, food and water and then escort them back home.

    A very clever idea, similar to the swop ability of some AFV’s.

    Small beautiful design, I believe this is the future of most Naval assets instead of bringing one large ship to a danger zone and risk losing it you can bring two to four small ships like this minimizing the risk of a loss of one large vessel and its crew and weapon assets, I bet you could fit f35 on her deck!

    • @Joshua_N-A
      @Joshua_N-A 3 роки тому

      F-35Bs would need a reinforced deck, better to have it right away than later because upgrading the deck would mean the ship won't be seeing action for a period of time. Italy Cavour had a 16-month downtime when upgrading the deck for F-35Bs.

    CWIS that’s the only weapon system. Way not to sell your platform...
    This seems to me to be a great way for a smaller nation to have a versatile hospital ship.
    But a modification to warship you’ve got to be joking.

    This cube idea in theory sound brilliant but we both Know the fighting ship is at it most basic design cross purpose w/an aid ship or hospital ship, or utterly not set up for that, & they just want to tax humanity building most stealth evil cold war godless crap, not flex fast & cheap ships.

    If the objective is to save taxpayers' money, then the design you need is the one that allows you to ship as many migrants as possible back home.
    Otherwise the business you're in is called profiteering.

      Most of the time it'll be anti-submarine warfare or humanitarian mission. It's Europe. They're not keen for a power projection. Different mission and doctrine.

    nice company but u better not just b in military space or your r going to go under. No nation on the planet can be borrowing & taxing ppl if there economy is bad or they hve running debts operation no rainy day fund, & hve any unpaid debt above 55% of 1 yrs GDP. Navy in peace time is a luxury not need or want. U hve to do basic repairs or put into reserve or deactive fleet or mouth ball it waiting for scraping.

      This didn't age too well, considering the raise in defense budgets after the war in Ukraine. In any case I believe that have already a deal in place with the Danish navy, who again have a deal with the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure (Міністерство інфраструктури України) for the delivery of Danish ship design and technology to the Ukrainian Coast Guard (State Border Guard Service) as well as search and rescue service. The vessels would, if possible, be built in Ukraine on the basis of Danish design and technology. The partnership will specifically support the reconstruction of the Ukrainian shipbuilding industry and thus a rebuilding of Ukraine’s maritime capacity in the future. Volodymyr Zelensky even mentioned this is a speech broadcast he gave to the Danish parliament the other day, this time surprisingly not asking for more weapons, but focusing on exactly this issue instead.
